From Hospice Care, Democrat Former Rep. Barney Frank Warns His Party About Drifting Too Far Left (Video)

Last week, The Gateway Pundit reported that former Democrat Rep. Barney Frank has entered hospice care.
Barney Frank, 86, is in hospice care at his home in Maine, where he resides with his husband. Frank is suffering from congestive heart failure.
A frail looking Frank spoke with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday and warned his party about drifting too far left.
Jake Tapper: You are a progressive icon, but now you are expressing some reservations about where the progressive movement has gone. Tell us more.
Barney Frank: Yes, I know. I’ve been trying to decide, by the way, personally, whether it’s better to be an icon or an emoji. I haven’t decided that yet.
But, um, as far as this is concerned, it’s precisely because I have been on the left that I’ve undertaken this. I think we’re in a situation where the mainstream, to my disappointment, for many years ignored inequality. And many of us fought to get inequality on the Democratic agenda.
But the problem was, as we succeeded in bringing the mainstream of the left into a concern with inequality, we also enabled people who wanted to use that as a platform for a wide range of social and cultural changes, some of which the public isn’t ready for.
Even when I agree with them on the end, I think they make a mistake by taking the most controversial parts of the agenda and turning them into litmus tests.
For example, same-sex marriage. Obviously, I’ve been working for gay rights starting in 1972 when I filed a bill. And we, in the movement, established fairness for gay and lesbian and bisexual people, we picked to work on those issues which were more acceptable.
We didn’t get to marriage until after these other things had been resolved. And that’s what I’m suggesting that we do today.
The analog is male to female transsexuals playing sports designated for women. I understand there’s a lot of anger about that, and I think in the interest of the transgender community as well as others, it would be better to go at that in a more gradual way and not simply announce that if you don’t support it, you’re a homophobe.

Frank was one of the Democrat Reps who authored the Dodd-Frank bill, which was put in place after the 2008 bank crash.
The government arguably caused the failure and then turned around and put in a massive amount of regulations in response to the failure.
The Dodd-Frank bill put enormous strain on smaller banks, and eventually, some of the regulations were rolled back.
Ironically, Barney Frank sat on the board of Signature Bank, a New York-based commercial bank that collapsed in 2023 after depositors withdrew money in a panic amid a string of bank failures.

A quick-thinking West Virginia convenience store clerk is going viral after foiling a violent female robber with savvy move.
As WCHS reported, a woman identified as Rebecca Peterson entered the Shell station on Little Coal River Road in Lincoln County looking for some quick cash and was apparently willing to kill to get it.
Police say the incident occurred Friday morning at 4 a.m.
Surveillance from the store shows Peterson, 42, introducing herself to the worker and telling him she was there to rob the store. After the two exchange words, Peterson fires a shot against the counter wall, spooking the employee.
But the worker remains calm, and talks Peterson into putting the gun down at one point. Then, he employs what could be characterized as a Jedi Mind Trick on her.
He tells Peterson that the owner is in the back room and to run towards it. She believes him and races in that direction.
There’s only one problem: the owner is nowhere to be found.
After searching the room and finding nothing, Peterson fires a shot at a camera inside. The worker then takes this opportunity to run out of the store and call the police.

Peterson exited the store and took off in a black SUV which went northbound on U.S. 119.
Police were able to catch up to her a short time later and placed her under arrest.
They also recovered the firearm involved in the incident.
Peterson faces several charges including attempted armed robbery, wanton endangerment, and destruction of property.
She is currently awaiting arraignment. State police told WTRF the investigation remains ongoing.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche ably smacked down NBC’s Kristen Welker after she called into question the prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey for threatening President Trump’s life and hinted that more bombshells are about to drop in the case.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, an arrest warrant was issued for former FBI Director James Comey after he was indicted by a grand jury in the Eastern District of North Carolina related to his Trump assassination post on Instagram.
The US Marshals were asked to provide Comey with the indictment and they issued an arrest warrant. Comey faces up to 20 years in prison.
Last May, Comey called for Trump to be killed in a Instagram post which said “8647” in seashell formation.
On “Meet the Press,” Welker openly questioned Blanche on how one single seashell image could be regarded as a serious threat against the most powerful person in the world.
Blanche responded by saying this was an ongoing investigation before dropping a mini-bombshell: Investigators are looking at more than just the Instagram post Comey made.
So, what else did Comey do?
    WATCH:

NBC News’ Kristen Welker: “How does that image of seashells [that James Comey posted on the beach of ‘8647’] amount to a serious threat against the president’s life?”
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche: “Well, every case requires an investigation. And what you just showed is… pic.twitter.com/5YdvO41MrC
    — RedWave Press (@RedWavePress) May 3, 2026

WELKER: The grand jury has indicted the former FBI director for this Instagram post (shows “8647” post)…8647 in seashells which the indictment says quote “a reasonable recipient who is familiar with the circumstances would interpret as a serious expression of an intent to do harm to the President of the United States.
How does that image of seashells amount to a serious threat against the president’s life?
BLANCHE: Well, every case requires an investigation. And what you just showed is one part of that investigation. What you just showed is the Instagram post. Rest assured that the career assistant United States attorneys in North Carolina, the career FBI agents, the career secret service agents that investigated this case didn’t just look at the Instagram post and walk away.
That’s why you saw an indictment last week, notwithstanding the fact that it was last May that the post was made. So I am not permitted to get into the details of what the grand jury heard or found, as you know. But rest assured that it’s not just the Instagram post that leads somebody to get indicted.
Welker then tried to run cover for Comey by taking him at his word that he didn’t understand how such a post could be interpreted as violence and asked how he could prove intent in spite of this.
Blache responded by giving her a basic legal lesson while reiterating that this goes well beyond just one Instagram post.

NBC News’ Kristen Welker: “How do you prove intent, Mr. Blanche, when Mr. Comey himself said he didn’t understand that some people would look at that and think about violence?”
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche: “You prove intent like you always prove intent. You prove intent… pic.twitter.com/H8G0qpbnuB
    — RedWave Press (@RedWavePress) May 3, 2026

WELKER: Part of what the government would have to prove is intent. James Comey deleted the post the same day and he wrote quote “I didn’t realize folks associate those numbers with violence.”
“It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down.” How do you prove intent, Mr. Blanche, when Mr. Comey himself said he didn’t understand that some people would look at that and think about violence?
BLANCHE: You prove intent like you always prove intent You prove intent with witnesses, you prove intent with documents, with materials. So again, this is not just about a single Instagram post. This is about a body of evidence that the grand jury collected over the series of about 11 months.
That evidence was presented to the grand jury. And it’s not the government. It’s not the Department of Justice. It’s not Todd Blanche that returned an indictment against James Comey.
It’s the grand jury, part of the judicial process, and that this process has to be allowed to play out in the courts.
It’s not fair to Mr. Comey, it’s certainly not fair to the prosecutors for us to be airing your view or my view of this indictment. It’s something that will be presented in court at the time set by the judge.

Conservative Commentator Mary Katharine Ham: Media Needs to Consider the Consequences of All the ‘Hitler’ Talk (VIDEO)

    Screencap of Twitter/X video.
Conservative author and political commentator Mary Katherine Ham appeared on the Real Clear Politics podcast this week and made some interesting points about the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last week.
Ham pointed out that the media immediately tried to make it all about them and then shifted to trying to make it about Jimmy Kimmel.
She also cautioned the media that they need to be more careful and consider the consequences of all the ‘Hitler’ talk. She suggests that the shooter in this case seemed to be acting directly from mainstream liberal talking points, which is kind of amazing when you think about it.
    Transcript via Real Clear Politics:
“I do appreciate people who stood up and tried to get information… but let’s not amp it up too much,” Ham said, noting that very few of the reports we’ve seen mention that the shooter “was a floor up from us.”
“Then the coverage afterwards seemed to turn away from the assassination attempt—because Trump being a victim is something that is uncomfortable for the press,” she said. “So we’re three stories removed from the assassination attempt before we’ve really dealt with the assassination attempt.”
“As a free speech person, I want a wide latitude for being jerks in public,” she said. “But they are constantly telling people from a perch of power and influence that the duly elected president of the U.S. is a traitor, pedophile, rapist—which is what this attempted assassin absorbed and regurgitated.”
“A lot of people on the left said the quiet part out loud. This manifesto doesn’t seem very weird; it sounds like what they talk about at dinner parties. At some point, if you think you’re killing baby Hitler, as many of these people seem to, the chances that someone who is ‘a little off’ is going to take that seriously are pretty decent in a large country.”

Legal Scholar John Yoo Says State and Elected Officials in Minnesota Could Absolutely End Up in Prison Over Fraud: ‘These People Are in a Lot of Trouble’ (VIDEO)

John Yoo is a law professor at UC-Berkeley who worked in the Justice Department under President George W. Bush. Today, he appeared on FOX News with
    Kayleigh McEnany.
She asked him if there was any possibility that elected officials and state officials in Minnesota could go to prison over the massive fraud that has been uncovered there.
He said that they absolutely can, and maybe not in the way you might think.
    Yoo says:
“These people are in a lot of trouble. These are not just overpayments. This is not just, as we were talking about the other day, criminal fraud.
Now that you’re seeing the money end up in the hands of foreign terrorist organizations, the Justice Department’s counter-terrorism and national security division should now get involved and see whether any of these state officers knew or were abetting these money transfers, because if they did they are giving material support to terrorists and they could go to jail for a very long time.”
Kayleigh then asks if any of these people would be covered by any sort of immunity, to which Yoo replies “Of course not.”
As an example, he points to the Wisconsin judge who was recently found guilty of trying to hide an illegal alien from federal officers. He then goes on to say that the situation in Minnesota is actually worse than thet.
    Watch the whole clip below:

If you are a conservative, you have probably been waiting to see elected officials in Minnesota held accountable for all of this financial fraud.
It can be frustrating at times, but the simple truth is that our justice system works very slowly.
Let Professor Yoo’s words here give you some encouragement.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani Allocates $500,000 for ‘Reparations’ as He Claims City is in Historic Budget Crisis

    Screencap of Twitter/X video.
Just last week, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani claimed that the city is in a historic budget crisis. Now we are learning that he has allocated $500,000 for reparations. So which is it?
If Mamdani wants to quell concerns that he is a dishonest dealer in financial matters, this is not the way to do it. Unless of course, he just doesn’t care, which is entirely possible,
We’re not really sure why people living in modern day New York City would qualify for reparations in the first place, but that’s a different matter altogether.
    FOX News reports:
Mamdani allocates $500K for reparations talks as NYC faces $5.4B deficit
Under Mayor Zohran Mamdani, New York City has set aside $500,000 to fund community discussions on reparations and other forms of assistance for Black New Yorkers as a major budget deficit looms, internal communications show.
An internal message, dated January, detailed how more than two dozen groups would be given tens of thousands of dollars each to participate in “conversations to discuss the development of a Reparations study” and to gather “input on the early development of the citywide Truth, Healing and Reconciliation plan.”
Funding, according to the document, “allows for each community member to receive an incentive for their time” and covers the costs of providing participants with “refreshments.”
Amid the reparations spending, New York City faces an estimated $5.4 billion budget deficit throughout the next two fiscal years.
Mamdani thus far has not proposed service cuts to address the shortfall, opting instead to seek out increased taxes and dip into the city’s emergency cash reserves while increasing funding for racial equity initiatives.
Mamdani has justified his racially focused policies by stating that “Black and Latino New Yorkers” have “been pushed out of this city for decades” and are “bearing the brunt” of the rising cost of living in New York City.
Maybe electing a communist as mayor wasn’t such a good idea.

Tusk learned from the mistakes of Merz.
In the minds of Euro-Globalists, they believe that the easiest way to gain popularity is to criticize US President Donald J. Trump, and it’s much easier than actually implementing good policies that improve the lives of citizens.
So, it doesn’t matter who: France’s Macron, UK’s Starmer, Germany’s Merz, Spain’s Sánchez – it’s always the same modus operandi in which the fake allies will go out of their way to try to throw shade on Trump and his administration.
It wasn’t going to be any different with liberal Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk – or, as I like to call him, the wrong Donald.
But Tusk learned from the mistakes of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and did not openly criticize Trump after the US began withdrawing 5,000 troops from Germany.

The greatest threat to the transatlantic community are not its external enemies, but the ongoing disintegration of our alliance. We must all do what it takes to reverse this disastrous trend.

“Overnight, the US Department of Defense announced that it would withdraw 5,000 US troops from Germany, where almost 40,000 are stationed, over the next ‘six to 12 months’.
The decision appears to be a form of punishment for Friedrich Merz, the German chancellor, after he claimed that Mr. Trump had been ‘humiliated’ by Iranian negotiators.”
Germany’s Merz made an offensive comment and is paying the price
“Tens of thousands of US troops are stationed in Germany as a deterrent against Russian aggression, including at the strategically key Ramstein air base in the Rhineland region. Reuters and The New York Times have reported that the Pentagon has also decided not to deploy a long-range missile battalion to Germany, which experts say could have serious consequences for European defense.”

California Vice Mayor Larry Lang Posted ‘86 47’ Coded Threat Against President Trump on State GOP Page, Calls Grow for Immediate Resignation

A California vice mayor is facing fierce backlash and mounting calls to resign after he posted the message “86 47” on the California Republican Party’s Facebook page and used James Comey’s image of seashells spelling out the same phrase, which he was recently indicted for, as his account cover photo.
Larry Lang, Vice Mayor of Los Altos and a member of more than half a dozen regional boards, left the comment “86 47” in response to a recent California GOP post featuring Chairwoman Corrin Rankin discussing a gubernatorial debate.
Rankin had stated that Democrats “have no solutions” after 16 years of one-party rule in California.
In restaurant and bar slang, “86” means to “get rid of,” “eliminate,” or sometimes, “kill.” The number “47” refers to President Donald Trump as the 47th president.
The combination has been widely interpreted as a veiled threat or call for violence against President Donald Trump.
Both of Lang’s posts have since been deleted.
Screenshots were shared by the California Republican Party with the New York Post.
California GOP Chairwoman Corrin Rankin condemned the post as a “death threat” and demanded Lang’s resignation.
“This death threat directed at Donald Trump is unacceptable. Either this elected ‘leader’ is completely unaware of recent events, or he is somehow fueling the violence that erodes our political system,” Rankin said in a post on X, urging him to resign. “Los Altos deserves leaders who unite the community and focus on solutions.”

German car company BMW is rolling out humanoid robots in another one of their factories to help build electric vehicles.
The manufacturer tested out the cutting-edge robots at their facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and is now expanding them to their location in Leipzig, Germany, according to an April 20 report from Fox News.
BMW announced the project for the first time in February, revealing that they would test the “Physical AI” robots — enabled by Hexagon Robotics — in Leipzig, where the company makes electric vehicles.
“The project aims to integrate humanoid robotics into existing series production of cars and to explore further applications in the production of batteries and components,” the company said.

While car companies have long used robotics in their production processes — such as robotic arms that assemble specific parts — the use of Hexagon’s humanoid robots enables a more natural and adaptable integration.
A previous pilot by BMW used Figure 02 humanoid robots for positioning sheet metal on the BMW X2 production line, per Fox News.
Those robots helped with the construction of more than 30,000 cars.

  • Democrat Rep. DelBene OUTRAGED After Supreme Court Blocks Race-Based Gerrymandering, Calls Ruling “Sad” for Democracy (VIDEO)

Democrat Rep. DelBene OUTRAGED After Supreme Court Blocks Race-Based Gerrymandering, Calls Ruling “Sad” for Democracy (VIDEO)

WATCH: Democrat Rep. OUTRAGED After SCOTUS Blocks Race-Based Gerrymandering, Calls Ruling “Sad”
Democrats have spent years presenting themselves as defenders of democratic institutions. That message becomes significantly harder to sustain when party leaders openly criticize constitutional rulings simply because those rulings disrupt their political strategy.
That contradiction was on full display during a recent interview on MSNOW when Rep. Susan DelBene reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision to block Louisiana’s race-based congressional map.
DelBene called the ruling a “sad day for democracy.”
The statement was revealing—not simply because of its rhetoric, but because of what the underlying case actually involved.
The Supreme Court stepped in after concerns that Louisiana’s congressional map relied too heavily on race when drawing district boundaries. The broader constitutional question is straightforward: should states be allowed to sort voters by race when determining political representation?
For many Democrats, the answer appears to be yes—at least when doing so benefits their electoral prospects.
During the interview, DelBene attempted to shift the conversation away from the constitutional concerns surrounding the map itself. Instead, she argued that courts should not be involved in decisions like this and suggested Congress should rewrite voting laws.
That argument ignores the basic function of the judiciary.
Courts exist to determine whether government actions comply with constitutional protections. When legislatures create policies that potentially violate equal protection principles, judicial review is not activism—it is a core constitutional responsibility.
DelBene also accused Republicans of attempting to “rig the system” because they are allegedly losing support nationwide.
That argument became even more contradictory when MSNOW raised the possibility of Democrats aggressively redrawing congressional districts in states like California to offset Republican redistricting efforts in states such as Texas.
DelBene did not reject the idea.
Instead, the conversation reflected a broader problem that has increasingly defined modern redistricting battles: many politicians oppose gerrymandering only when the opposing party benefits from it.
That is not a serious institutional position, but a transactional one.
Republicans have also engaged in aggressive redistricting efforts, and that deserves scrutiny.
But Democrats weaken their own credibility when they frame themselves as moral defenders of democracy while openly supporting race-conscious map drawing when it helps preserve political power.
Mike Johnson responded to the controversy by arguing that states should pursue constitutional district maps.
    That should not be controversial.
Americans can have legitimate debates over independent redistricting commissions, partisan map drawing, and election reform. Those are complicated policy questions.
While many Americans, myself included, recognize that redistricting is often a necessary evil because no system will ever be completely free of political influence, one reality remains clear: there is a major difference between how Republicans and Democrats are approaching it.
Republicans typically pursue redistricting in states where voters have already delivered a clear ideological mandate.
Take Texas, for example, a reliably Republican state where GOP lawmakers are redrawing maps in a state that consistently votes red at both the statewide and federal level.
Democrats, however, have increasingly pushed far more aggressive redistricting efforts in competitive states where representation is far more divided. Virginia is a clear example. It remains one of the country’s most contested states.
Republican candidates continue to win statewide races, and elections are often decided by narrow margins.
When Democrats attempt to redraw maps in a state where nearly half the electorate regularly votes Republican, they are not simply protecting political interests—they are actively trying to dilute the representation of millions of voters.
For years, Democrats framed Republican redistricting as an attack on democracy while quietly benefiting from their own structural advantages. The recent legal battles simply exposed what has been happening for a long time.
What should be far less complicated is whether race should be the primary factor in determining political representation.
Democrats frequently claim America must move beyond racial discrimination. Defending race-based district maps for short-term political gain moves the country in the opposite direction.
