A bill backed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis allowing for capital punishment for child rapists was advanced by the state Senate Rules Committee Tuesday.
The bill allows a jury to determine by a vote of at least 8-4 to recommend a death sentence for sexual battery on a child under the age of 12.
There must be at least two aggravating factors present in the crime – the assault must be determined to be “heinous, atrocious or cruel” while the victim must be “especially vulnerable.”
DeSantis has endorsed the tougher capital punishment standard, indicating it is the “only appropriate punishment” for such crimes.

As Javier Manjarres of The Floridian reports, the Florida House is scheduled to take up a version of the bill on Thursday.
If it advances in the House – Republicans control the chamber 84-35 – coupled with the Senate Rules Committee decision on Tuesday, the bill would then move on to the full Senate.

Supreme Court reporter Kaelen Deese at the Washington Examiner points out that the bill directly challenges a 2008 Supreme Court ruling involving a Lousiana law.
The ruling determined the death penalty could not be applied to child rape because it would constitute a form of “cruel and unusual punishment.”
Advancement of the Florida bill could lead to the Supreme Court’s 6-3 Republican-appointed majority to examine a revision of the 2008 precedent.

Trump Also Seeking to Expand Death Penalty
The fact that DeSantis is backing expansion of the death penalty in Florida puts him on the same wavelength of former President Donald Trump, who has been advocating for further implementation of capitol punishment for some time.
Trump has been a strong proponent of capital punishment, advocating for the death penalty for individuals that murder police officers during his 2020 presidential campaign.

Trump also suggested the death penalty could deter drug dealers.

A report surfaced earlier this year claiming Trump would also like to deter crime in America by expanding the use of the death penalty for violent criminals and drug dealers, even so far as to suggest airing live executions on television.
That report was disputed by his campaign.

Governor DeSantis slammed child predators as being irredeemable during a news conference in January.
“These people don’t care. They are unrepentant,” DeSantis said. “I believe the only appropriate punishment that would be commensurate to that would be capital.”
DeSantis vowed to “cement” Florida’s “reputation as being a law-and-order state.”

Democratic Representative Jennifer Wexton of Virginia announced on Tuesday that she has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
She made the announcement via a video posted to Twitter.
“If there’s one thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on, it’s that Parkinson’s disease sucks,” she said, a sentiment we indeed all can agree on.
“Today, on World Parkinson’s Day, I’m here to tell you that I’ve come to learn this firsthand,” Wexton continued. “And that’s because I’ve learned that I, too, have Parkinson’s, or what some people call PD for short.”
Wexton is a young 54-years of age.

Rep Jennifer Wexton Vows to Serve For Years to Come
During her announcement, Rep. Jennifer Wexton told supporters what Parkinson’s Disease entails and asked people not to feel “sorry for me.”
“What Parkinson’s is not is an untreatable disease, a cognitive impairment, or a death sentence,” she said.
And on that note, she vowed to continue her work in Congress for quite some time.

Wexton pointed out that she plans “to keep serving you for many years to come.”

Another Democrat Retired in 2019 After Learning He Had Parkinson’s
Rep. Jennifer Wexton becomes the second Democrat House member in recent years to announce a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease.
Jose Serrano, a former Democrat lawmaker from New York, announced he had been diagnosed with the disease in 2019 and would retire at the end of his term in 2021.
Serrano said at the time that he initially planned to keep working but had “come to the realization that Parkinson’s will eventually take a toll, and that I cannot predict its rate of advancement.”
The uncertainty of his medical future led to his resignation.

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has also been working through serious health issues, though his have clearly been detrimental to his cognitive abilities as well as the physical.
Prior to being elected, Fetterman (D) had experienced a stroke which left him quite obviously troubled in the realm of communication.
Fetterman was hospitalized overnight just one month into his term, while reports surfaced that he was struggling to adapt to life in the Senate, hearing voices that sound like the teacher in the “Peanuts” cartoons and requiring colleagues to adjust to his “special needs.”
He lost a significant amount of time being treated for severe clinical depression earlier this year.

The NBA went woke a few years ago, embracing Black Lives Matter following the death of George Floyd.
Now that might be catching up with them.
Despite Janet Yellen’s recent claim that the United States is doing great economically, the NBA is freezing all new spending and hiring and blaming the economy for the decision.

The NBA might be bracing for some financial troubles.
NBA officials instructed league office staff to cut spending and limit hiring due to “economic headwinds” for the rest of the year, according to a memo from executives Kyle Cavanaugh and David Haber obtained by the New York Times.
The memo claims the NBA is “facing a very different economic reality than just one year ago. We are seeing significant challenges to achieving our revenue budget with additional downside risk still in front of us.”
The NBA previously laid people off in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the same report, but the reasons for this belt tightening have much more to do with the economy teetering on a recession.
The NBA is far from alone. Many major organizations have had to cut costs and fears ripple through the economy. Disney slashed positions, ESPN is reportedly going to cut positions left and right, the tech industry has also been hit hard and news companies such as CNN and the Washington Post are also trimming up.
Is the economy the only problem here, or are there other factors at play?

Coava Coffee Roasters is a small business in Portalnd, Oregon which has decided to close their downtown location, citing not only crime but incidents of ‘extreme violence’ in the area.
It is just one of the latest businesses to close in a deeply blue city due to rising crime.
In recent years, this has become a serious problem in areas governed almost exclusively by Democrats.

Coava Coffee shutters Downtown shop, blames crime, ‘extreme violence’
The Portland-based coffee shop chain and wholesaler Coava Coffee Roasters announced on social media that it plans to permanently close its downtown location at 1171 Jefferson Street on April 13, blaming the closure on an increase in crime and “extreme violence” in the area.
The business stated that it has been unable to reduce crime at the cafe despite its efforts to add more employees and provide them with de-escalation training and hazard pay. As a result, the company said that it can no longer manage the troubled location.
“The team members at this cafe have been on the front line enduring extreme violence and criminal activity on an almost daily basis for the last few years — crime and violence that is only increasing in frequency and severity,” Coava Coffee stated on its social media accounts. “From theft to physical displays of violence, threats of harm, break-ins, window smashing, and repeated traumatic in-cafe incidents where both staff and patrons feel unsafe.”
Opened in the summer of 2017, the Jefferson Street cafe was the business’s newest location. Coava’s espresso bar at 2631 Hawthorne Blvd. and its primary coffee bar at 1300 Grand Ave. are still open to the public. The company’s website states that its Public Brew Bar and Roastery at 1015 main Street remains “temporarily closed.”

President Trump on Wednesday evening called for Jack Smith to be removed from the DOJ after the latest leak to the Washington Post.
Special Counsel Jack Smith is now investigating Trump’s effort to raise money off of ‘false claims of election fraud,’ according to a leak to the Washington Post.
Federal prosecutors are investigating money raised between November 3, 2020 and January 20, 2021.
“Special “Prosecutor“ Jack Smith is illegally leaking massive amounts of confidential information to the Fake News Media. He and his entire family are known Trump Haters. He should be removed by the corrupt DOJ, at once!” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Biden’s corrupt Justice Department has repeatedly leaked information about Jack Smith’s witch hunt investigation to the Washington Post, CNN and the New York Times.
The damaging leaks are being used to blunt Trump’s 2024 reelection campaign.
According to a leak earlier this month, Special Counsel Jack Smith has “new and significant evidence” of potential Trump obstruction in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.
The Justice Department did the same thing during Mueller’s two-year Russia collusion witch hunt in an effort to damage Trump’s presidency.

Bud Light Vice-President of Marketing Alissa Heinerscheid, the “brainchild” responsible for the Dylan Mulvaney marketing campaign, has been exposed as a total fraud after social media pictures surfaced showing her behaving in a very embarrassing manner.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported Heinerscheid sat down with a podcast called Make Yourself at Home on March 30. During the interview, Heinerscheid explained her “mandate” to promote “inclusivity,” which is code for pursuing a woke agenda.
She also disparaged Bud Light’s past marketing efforts and by extension their loyal customer base as “too fratty” and “out of touch.”

I had this super clear mandate. “It’s like, we need to evolve and elevate this incredibly iconic brand. And my…what I brought to that was a belief in, okay, what does evolve and elevate mean?
It means inclusivity. It means shifting the tone. It means having a campaign that’s truly inclusive and feels lighter and brighter and different and appeals to women and to men.
We had this hangover, I mean Bud Light had been kind of a brand of fratty, kind of out of touch humor, and it was really important that we had another approach.
She evidently thought no one would bother researching her past transgressions. But the Daily Caller on Tuesday exposed several photos from Heinerscheid’s Facebook account showing her getting drunk and engaging in other humiliating behavior.
Two pictures, for example, show Heinerscheid holding condoms over her mouth.

The vice president of marketing at Bud Light, who recently said the company needs to update its “fratty” image and “out-of-touch humor,” can be seen partaking in the same behavior she seemed to be criticizing during a Harvard social club event, recently leaked images show.
The Daily Caller obtained the photos from a source who had screenshots of the album on Alissa Gordon Heinerscheid’s Facebook page, which was titled “Isis Senior Reverse Initiation Scavenger Hunt.” In the album, there are photos of Heinerscheid drinking with others, and holding condoms up to their mouths. An article in the Harvard Crimson describes the club as a “haven of inebriated ditzes.”
The Isis Club “was established in the year 2000 on Harvard University’s campus by agroup of 25 women. The founding meeting took place in the former Loker Commons, and set a foundation for community we have today. Their mission was to provide a positive environment and social network for women to flourish,” an Isis Club new initiate’s book states.
Heinerscheid’s Facebook profile could no longer be accessed after the Caller emailed her for comment.

Paul called out the numerous current members of Congress who have no knowledge of or loyalty to the U.S. Constitution. He slammed corrupt and out of control government spending.
Finally, he claimed that JFK was murdered by the CIA and that that moment was the beginning of a coup.

Paul appeared on Pool’s show, “Timcast IRL,” for a wide ranging interview about current events, economics and war. Pool asked Paul 10 minutes into the show about the possibility of America entering World War III against Russia.
“I’m arguing the case that we’re in the middle of it and moving right along, that the revolution has been fought, there’s been a coup, we don’t have any resemblance to a government that believes in a Republic, we don’t have honest money, we don’t have integrity,” Paul said.
“But I do believe there has been a coup, and it’s been taken over, and if I want to, and if I can I want to just put the date in my mind, and anybody could pick probably any date in the last 100 years, but I have picked November 22nd 1963,” Paul continued. “That was the day Kennedy was murdered by our government, you know by the CIA.”

Special Counsel Jack Smith is now investigating Trump’s effort to raise money off of ‘false claims of election fraud,’ according to a leak to the Washington Post.
Federal prosecutors are investigating money raised between November 3, 2020 and January 20, 2021.
The Washington Post reported:
Federal prosecutors probing the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol have in recent weeks sought a wide range of documents related to fundraising after the 2020 election, looking to determine if Trump or his advisers scammed donors by using false claims about voter fraud to raise money, eight people familiar with the new inquiries said.
Special counsel Jack Smith’s office has sent subpoenas in recent weeks to Trump advisers and former campaign aides, Republican operatives and other consultants involved in the 2020 presidential campaign, the people said. They have also heard testimony from some of these figures in front of a Washington grand jury, some of the people said.
The fundraising prong of the investigation is focused on money raised during the period between Nov. 3, 2020, and the end of Trump’s time in office on Jan. 20, 2o21, and prosecutors are said to be interested in whether anyone associated with the fundraising operation violated wire fraud laws, which make it illegal to make false representations over email to swindle people out of money.
The subpoenas seek more specific types of communications so that prosecutors can compare what Trump allies and advisers were telling each other privately about the voter-fraud claims with what they were saying publicly in appeals that generated more than $200 million in donations from conservatives, according to people with knowledge of the investigation.
According to a leak earlier this month, Special Counsel Jack Smith has “new and significant evidence” of potential Trump obstruction in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.
The feds seized classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago and thoroughly searched the property after the Justice Department issued Trump a subpoena in May to return so-called classified records.
According to a leak to WaPo, Jack Smith has emails and texts from a former Trump aide showing Trump may have rummaged through his boxes of classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago after he was subpoenaed in May 2022.
Biden’s Justice Department has nothing on Trump so they are going to try to get him on ‘obstruction’ charges.

Biden 2024? Most Voters Want Democratic Primary Challengers
Less than half of voters want President Joe Biden to seek a second term next year, and two-thirds think Biden should face challengers in the Democratic primary. Just 39% of Likely U.S. voters believe Biden should run for reelection as president in 2024, while 48% think Biden shouldn’t run again. Another 13% are not sure. In February, only 32% said Biden should seek reelection in 2024. Sixty-six percent (66%) believe that if Biden runs for reelection in 2024, other Democrats should challenge him in the Democratic presidential primary, while just 21% are against Democratic challengers for Biden. Another 13% are not sure. Democratic environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. last week filed paperwork to officially launch his 2024 presidential campaign. Forty-six percent (46%) of voters support RFK Jr.’s campaign, including 18% who Strongly Support him. Thirty-one percent (31%) oppose Kennedy’s presidential campaign, including 20% who Strongly Oppose him, while another 23% are undecided.
