  • John Fetterman, Who Has Been Absent Most of His Career, Returning to Chair Senate Subcommittee on Food Stamps

While some Democrats are now actively calling for 89-year-old Dianne Feinstein to resign her Senate seat, there seems to be nothing but cheers as Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, a man who is barely functioning as an independent adult and has to receive extensive assistance in order to carry out his daily duties, is set to return to the Senate.
Fetterman, who was receiving treatment for depression severe enough that he had to be hospitalized for six weeks, will be coming back to work and is already set to lead a hearing on food stamps.
“The news is out! I’m very excited to chair my first subcommittee hearing next week,” he tweeted on Wednesday. “We’ll be talking about protecting SNAP, fighting for PA’s farmers in the Farm Bill, and much more. Hope you’ll tune in.”

    This Act is Getting Old
Fetterman has been gone since February 15, meaning that he served less than a month before taking his six-week leave of absence to resolve his depression and hearing loss.
Left-leaning sites such as Politico have attempted to paint this as something that happens often, citing other senators such as Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Dianne Feinstein as examples of politicians who have had to take leaves of absence during their terms.
What no one can deny though, which even Politico has had to admit to a degree, is that Fetterman is not a usual case. Fetterman’s health has been under scrutiny since he was running for Senate last year in his face-off against Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Fetterman suffered from a severe stroke last May, and since then has shown trouble with language, requiring him to have full time staff and caregivers not just available to help him with his work, but day to day activities.
“Since being sworn in, Fetterman has used transcription technology to help him talk to colleagues and conduct Senate business,” Politico mentioned.
During his stay at Walter Reed Medical Center, he also signed onto a bipartisan rail safety bill, causing many to ask whether he himself made the decision or if members of his staff did so on his behalf.

Democrats are calling on Senator Dianne Feinstein to resign over health concerns.
Why aren’t those same Democrats calling for Joe Biden’s or John Fetterman’s resignation?

In March, when Fetterman was shown as having co-sponsored the rail bill, he faced massive criticism from conservatives as to whether he was truly working. Fox News’ Tucker Carlson was one of the most notable voices to bring attention to this.
“Fetterman got to Washington in January and within a month suffered a mental breakdown so severe that he wound up in the psych ward where he remains tonight,” Carlson said at the time.
“He has not appeared in the public since. And we’re supposed to think that’s not a big deal,” Carlson added. “We’re not even supposed to think about it and just show how completely normal it is for newly elected U.S. senators to have a mental breakdown and disappear from public view.”
Carlson brought attention to the authenticity of the rail bill which he co-sponsored, saying “So here you have a guy who’s getting round-the-clock psychiatric care deciding how to prevent train derailments.”
“There’s so many questions here. But the most obvious one is a logistical question: How is John Fetterman doing this if he’s in the psych ward? And we don’t know because no one will say.”
Well now, we’re going to have to finally see how things really look with Fetterman leading this new sub committee. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Federal Judge Blocks Biden’s Controversial ‘Waters of the U.S.’ Regulations

By Kim Jarrett (The Center Square)
North Dakota U.S. District Court Judge Daniel Hovland issued a preliminary injunction Wednesday that blocked the implementation of the Biden administration’s clean water rule, also known as WOTUS.
The Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers published the rule on Jan. 18 that brings the country’s wetlands, streams and other waterways under federal jurisdiction. The rule was implemented during the Obama administration and repealed under the Trump administration.
Twenty-three states and several organizations joined North Dakota in the lawsuit filed on Feb. 21.
RELATED: Report: George Soros’ Son Alexander Has Visited Biden White House 14 Times
Hovland said in his order that the EPA exceeded its statutory authority and could be unconstitutional.
“The first category under the new Rule are traditional navigable waters, territorial seas, and interstate waters,” Hovland said. “The EPA has now taken the position that ‘interstate waters’ includes all such waters—even those that are not ‘connected to navigable waters’ in any manner. There are serious questions whether this is a permissible construction of the Clean Water Act as the Rule essentially reads non-navigability out of the Act. And does the Clean Water Act support making every wetland, stream, tributary or other water traversing a border subject to federal jurisdiction?”
Hovland said claims by North Dakota and West Virginia officials that the rule would cause their agencies harm outweighed the harm the injunction could do.
“An injunction at this early stage can avoid the massive waste of resources and delayed projects in pursuit of permits that may soon be legally irrelevant,” Hovland said. “By contrast, the EPA will not suffer any real harm that would justify a denial of injunctive relief. And any potential harm the federal agencies may suffer from compliance with an injunction is not enough to tip the scales at this stage. In fact, it is difficult to see what those potential harms may be.”
The EPA said in an email to The Center Square that the agencies are reviewing the decision and their options.
RELATED: Report: Biden’s Energy Plan Costs Jobs, Ratepayers
“The agencies continue to believe the rule, which is informed by the text of the relevant provisions of the Clean Water Act and the statute as a whole, as well as the scientific record, relevant Supreme Court case law, input from public comment, and the agencies’ experience and technical expertise after more than 45 years of implementing the longstanding pre-2015 regulations defining waters of the United States, is the best interpretation of the Clean Water Act,” the agency said. “In light of the preliminary injunctions, the agencies are interpreting ‘waters of the United States”‘ consistent with the pre-2015 regulatory regime in 26 States until further notice. The agencies remain committed to establishing and implementing a durable definition of “waters of the United States” informed by diverse perspectives.”
Gov. Doug Burgum said the rule would have created confusion and driven up costs for consumers.
“North Dakota has some of the cleanest air and water in the nation because we responsibly develop our natural resources and properly exercise our state’s authority to protect our own waters from pollution,” Burgum said.
Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond also praised the ruling.
“The Biden administration routinely infringes on the 10th Amendment rights of Oklahoma and other states, but today the Court put that overreach on hold,” Drummond said in a statement.

  • GOP-Controlled Arizona House Expels Republican Liz Harris for ‘Disorderly Behavior’

Democrats never punish their own. They never give the media something to talk about by holding somebody in their own party accountable for any controversial actions or statements.
Ilhan Omar survived anti-Semitic comments time and time again while Democrats were in power. Eric Swalwell survived alleged intimate relations with a Chinese spy. Adam Schiff survived repeated leaks that put national security at risk.
And during that time, the only individuals Democrats were willing to remove from their committees were Marjorie Taylor Greene – for posts made on social media before coming to Congress – and Paul Gosar – for posting an anime cartoon video on the internet.
Democrats, you see, know how to play the game, never turning on their own. Republicans, however, fall for it time and time again.
Enter the Arizona House – currently controlled by the GOP – and state Representative Liz Harris.

Arizona State Representative Liz Harris was expelled from the House Wednesday over alleged ethics violations, resulting from having invited a ‘conspiracy theorist’ to testify before lawmakers earlier this year.
The resolution to expel the freshman Republican accused her of bringing “disrepute and embarrassment to the House of Representatives” and for engaging in “disorderly behavior.”
She was expelled by a vote of 46-13, with 18 of those votes coming from flaccid Republicans.

Breger proceeded to accuse multiple politicians, including Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, of being part of a massive scheme involving Mexican drug cartels, money laundering, fake housing deeds, and election fraud.
The witness allegedly provided no evidence to back up the sensational claims.

“We need to have integrity in the institution, and I do not take this vote lightly,” he said. “I do vote yes.”
We’re long past concerns of integrity when it comes to lawmakers, Mr. Diaz.
Should Harris have allowed somebody to make false accusations against people without data to back it up? Of course not, but she claims she was unaware of Breger’s intended comments.
Should Harris be spreading her own conspiracy theories? No.
Do they rise to the level of an expulsion? No. Absolutely not. And the GOP-controlled House in Arizona should hang their heads in shame for being such cowards and not letting the voters decide her fate.
“If you don’t toe the line, this is what happens,” Harris tole reporters following the vote.

  • Operation Lone Star Officers Seize 3.1 Million Doses of Fentanyl in Single Stop

By Bethany Blankley (The Center Square)
Texas Operation Lone Star officers continue to disprove Biden administration claims that 90% of fentanyl being brought in from Mexico by cartels and their operatives is seized at ports of entry.
On Monday, a Texas state trooper working through OLS seized 14 pounds of fentanyl in a single traffic stop in Mission, Texas. The amount is enough to kill over 3.1 million people. The seizure is one of the largest single fentanyl seizures since Gov. Greg Abbott launched the state’s border mission in March 2021.
RELATED: GOP Senators File Bill to Designate Mexican Cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations
“Fentanyl is the single greatest drug threat our state and country has ever known, and this record amount of fentanyl seized would have otherwise made its way into communities across Texas and the nation because of President Joe Biden’s open border policies,” Gov. Greg Abbott said. “Through Texas’ historic Operation Lone Star mission, a DPS [Department of Public Safety] trooper prevented 3.1 million lethal doses of fentanyl – enough to kill every Texan in Austin, Dallas, and El Paso combined – from taking more innocent lives during a single traffic stop. I thank our brave DPS troopers, and all Operation Lone Star mission personnel, for their work to secure our border and keep Texans safe.”
“Because of this single seizure, millions of lethal doses of fentanyl will not make their way into communities across our state, and really our country, and millions of lives are potentially saved,” DPS Director Steve McCraw said. “This seizure clearly shows the important work that is happening along our border through the Operation Lone Star mission, and I want to thank Governor Abbott for his continued leadership in the fight against fentanyl.”
A Texas Highway Patrol trooper made the drug bust after stopping the driver of a black Cadillac SUV for a traffic violation at the intersection of 43 Street and Gumwood Avenue in Mission. He found that inside the vehicle were five tape-wrapped bundles containing a white powdery substance. The substance tested positive for fentanyl in the field and at a DPS crime laboratory, and had an estimated street value of roughly $312,000.
The driver, a male Mexican national, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and booked in the Hidalgo County Jail.
RELATED: It’s Time To End Mexican Cartels’ Reign of Terror
The seizure is an example of how Texas law enforcement officers are catching fentanyl being brought into the U.S. not caught at ports of entry, despite claims made by those in the Biden administration.
At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last month, Secretary of State Antony Blinken testified that “96% of the fentanyl coming to the United States is coming through legal ports of entry” and that by expanding technology at the ports, more would be seized.
A week later, before the same committee, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified that over 90% of fentanyl coming into the U.S. is seized at ports of entry.
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, interrupted him, saying, “That’s a totally made up number. You had over a million people evade Border Patrol detection and detention between 2022 and 2023. You have no idea how many of those people were carrying fentanyl or other drugs with them, do you?”
Mayorkas repeated the 90% claim from an “expert view” he said he was given, without identifying the expert or saying who gave him that information.
Cornyn again said, “That’s a totally made up number and you know it.”
A month earlier, ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Maryland, claimed the majority of fentanyl, 90%, was being seized at the southern border at ports of entry and that over 80% of those apprehended for smuggling it were American citizens.
RELATED: Former AG Bill Barr Calls For Military Action Against Drug Cartels Inside Mexico’s Border
Tucson Sector Border Patrol Chief John Modlin disputed the claim, stating half the fentanyl his agents have seized is in the field. Fentanyl is being brought in in backpacks by foreign nationals who are mostly single military age men who’ve entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico, he said.
Since March 2021, as of April 7, Texas OLS officers have seized more than 380 million lethal doses of fentanyl not at ports of entry but all over Texas, enough to kill more than everyone in the U.S.
Law enforcement officers have expressed concern that the amount they’re seizing is a fraction of what’s coming through.

The letter, obtained by the Daily Mail, showed Cohen explicitly stating the Republican nominee for President did NOT reimburse him for hush money payments to Daniels.

Democrats Call for Dianne Feinstein to Resign, But the 89-Year-Old Wants to Be ‘Temporarily’ Replaced Instead

Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, who has been a politician since 1969, is facing calls to resign from her Democrat peers. She has another idea: she has requested a ‘temporary’ arrangement in which she would be replaced due to an ongoing medical issue.
Reports surfaced earlier this week indicating Feinstein had missed 58 Senate votes (60 of 82 overall this year) since being hospitalized with shingles.
Shingles can be an incredibly painful rash in which the pain persists even after the rash itself dissipates.
The problem, according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle, is that her absence, coupled with Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman’s extended treatment for depression, is holding up confirmation of President Biden’s judicial nominees and/or getting legislation passed.
The Democrats currently own a 51-49 advantage in the Senate, and without those two at work, the only way for them to move forward is with a tie-breaking vote by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Dianne Feinstein, 89, is MIA and has missed 60 of the 82 votes the Senate has taken this year, and her absence is holding up the confirmation of Biden’s judicial picks at a really critical time. She needs to resign right now, not retire after the term. https://t.co/nHveg9JTyI

No, the problem is exclusively Feinstein. Democrat Representatives Ro Khanna (CA) and Dean Phillips (MN) have made that quite clear.

It’s time for @SenFeinstein to resign. We need to put the country ahead of personal loyalty. While she has had a lifetime of public service, it is obvious she can no longer fulfill her duties. Not speaking out undermines our credibility as elected representatives of the people.

“It’s time for (Feinstein) to resign. We need to put the country ahead of personal loyalty,” Khanna tweeted.
“While she has had a lifetime of public service, it is obvious she can no longer fulfill her duties. Not speaking out undermines our credibility as elected representatives of the people.”
Phillips chimed in shortly thereafter voicing his agreement with Khanna’s sentiments.
“Senator Feinstein is a remarkable American whose contributions to our country are immeasurable,” Phillips wrote. “But I believe it’s now a dereliction of duty to remain in the Senate and a dereliction of duty for those who agree to remain quiet.”
Fetterman is set to return to work in the Senate on April 17th. He had been hospitalized in early March. It is nearly an identical timeframe to Feinstein’s absence.

“I am announcing today I will not run for reelection in 2024 but intend to accomplish as much for California as I can through the end of next year when my term ends,” the statement read.
Hours later, speaking to reporters, she seemed unaware that she had made the announcement. Her staff later chalked it up to a miscommunication on when the statement would be released.

Feinstein on her retirement: “I haven’t made that decision. I haven’t released anything.”
Staffer: “We put out the statement.”
Feinstein: “You put out the statement? I didn’t know they put it out.”

To be fair, Democrats have been calling for Dianne Feinstein to resign for quite some time.
The San Francisco Chronicle this past April reported that her Senate colleagues anonymously blasted her as not being mentally competent enough to do her job as a lawmaker.
Feinstein, according to a report by the New Yorker in 2020, had been “seriously struggling” with cognitive decline back then.

Brinton received a ‘suspended jail sentence’ of 180 days and ordered to pay $3,670 to the victim.
    Fox 5 reported:
A former Department of Energy official pleaded no contest Tuesday to stealing luggage from Harry Reid International Airport last July, according to court records.
Samuel Brinton was serving as a deputy assistant secretary at the DOE at the time when the theft occurred July 6, 2022.
A warrant was issued for Brinton, who was arrested Dec. 8.
On Tuesday, Brinton was sentenced to pay $3,670.74 in restitution for the stolen luggage and clothes, and given 180 days suspended jail term.
    Brinton has since been fired.
Sam Brinton was previously arrested for stealing women’s luggage at two different airports.
Brinton, a gender fluid ‘pup handler,’ was charged with felony theft for stealing a woman’s luggage in November at MSP airport in Minnesota.

Sam Brinton was also accused of stealing luggage from a Las Vegas airport.

Florida House Passes Bill Enacting Death Penalty For Child Rape

Florida lawmakers approved two bills this week that would allow for the execution of child rapists.
The Florida House passed HB1297, a bill that allows for the death penalty for rapists of children under the age of 12 without jury unanimity, by a 95-14 vote on late Thursday.
The proposed measure, sponsored by Rep. Jessica Baker, R – Fl.,  would require the vote of only 8 jurors out of 12 in order to approve capital punishment for people who commit sexual battery on children.
If fewer than eight jurors recommend the death penalty, defendants would be sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
The Senate is slated to vote on its version of the bill, SB 1342, on Tuesday.
The legislation would change the precedent that requires unanimous verdicts for executions and would make Florida the fourth state to not require jury unanimity.

The proposed measures follow longstanding US Supreme Court and Florida Supreme Court rulings that outlaw the execution of defendants in rape cases, including a 2008 US Supreme Court decision in a Louisana case.
Rep. Baker said she hopes the bill will provoke the US Supreme Court to reconsider its stance on the issue and permit the execution of defendants found guilty of child rape.
“The rape of a child is a deliberate, methodical act,” she said. “It doesn’t happen accidentally.”
Sen. Lauren Book, a survivor of child sexual assault, detailed her struggle with the trauma she endured decades ago during a passionate speech during Thursday’s committee hearing.
“There is no statute of limitations that a victim suffers. This is a life sentence that is handed down to young children,” Book said. “We’re talking about the youngest of the young in this bill. I was one of those kids.”

The measure is headed now headed to the full Senate.
Florida will have the lowest death penalty threshold in the nation upon Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signature of the legislation.
