The Super Bowl has become something like an annual holiday for Americans full of football, food and beverages, but the recent spike in food prices means catering a Super Bowl gathering will cost Americans more than ever.
While pricing data isn’t available for all the typical brands, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest data show food prices have soared in the past two years, outpacing the increased prices on other goods and service.
According to that data, which was released in January, food prices rose 10.4% over the past year.
For instance, deviled eggs may be off limits since egg prices have spiked in the last year, rising a whopping 59.9%.
“The remaining major grocery store food groups posted increases ranging from 7.7 percent (meats, poultry, fish, and eggs) to 15.3 percent (dairy and related products),” BLS said.
Alcohol has risen as well. BLS data for all urban consumers showed “beer, ale, and other malt beverages at home” rose 8.6% over the past year while alcoholic beverages overall rose nearly 6%.

Cheese dip may be a bit too pricey this year for some consumers. “Cheese and related products” rose 12.8% last year.
Fruit and vegetable platters will be more costly as well with fresh fruit and vegetable prices rising 6.4%.
Americans may be tempted to skip the fresh food and go for frozen, but frozen and freeze dried prepared foods rose 15% in the past year. And the snack category saw an 11% increase as well.
Americans ordering takeout this Sunday will not avoid the higher prices. BLS data shows the “food away from home” index rose 8.3%.
There are some bright spots for American football fans. The cost of chicken wings, for instance, has declined according to a report from Wells Fargo. Chicken overall, though, has risen in cost.
Burgers may also be a good choice as well, since uncooked ground beef rose 0.7% last year, according to BLS.

It’s an astonishing accusation coming from Ocasio-Cortez, especially considering how we’ve very openly seen the FBI, DOJ, and the whole of the federal government weaponized against former President Trump and his supporters for over seven years now.
But AOC is no stranger to making ‘astonishing’ statements that defy reality.
Earlier this week, at a hearing for the Congressional Oversight Committee regarding censorship by Twitter during the 2020 election, AOC falsely described the Hunter Biden laptop scandal as “half fake.”
The congresswoman hinted that the story was disinformation – which is disinformation itself – and lamented that political operatives “want the ability to do it again.”
“They want the ability to inject this again. So they’ve dragged a social media platform here to Congress. They’re weaponizing the use of this committee, so that they can do it again,” she said.

Jim Jordan Fires Back After AOC Claims Republicans Are Weaponzing Oversight Committee
Of course, very little of what AOC said is accurate in any way, but Jim Jordan recently appeared on Fox News and had an opportunity to address her claims of ‘weaponizing’ the committee.
Jordan cited a little-known – in Democrat circles anyway – amendment to the Constitution.

“This is people speaking out. Why is the FBI doing that?” Jordan asked. “That, to me, is sort of the fundamental question. And it truly is, I think, censorship by surrogate, an attack on the First Amendment and our right to speak.”
“If you can’t talk, you can’t share your faith, you can’t petition your government, you don’t have freedom of the press,” he continued. “That is the most fundamental right we have. And that’s exactly the right that the FBI was trying to restrict.”

AOC Lied and Lied
While Jim Jordan (R-OH) aptly explained why AOC’s claim of ‘weaponizing’ the Oversight Committee was off base, the other person on that Fox News panel, New York Post reporter Miranda Devine, has forcefully pushed back against her other claims.
For instance, the idea that Twitter’s censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story was little more than a “24-hour hiccup” is completely erroneous.
Devine writes that, in reality, Twitter had falsely labeled the story as having been obtained from “hacked material” and “censored The Post’s scoop and locked our account for more than two weeks.”

The entire cover-up – by the intelligence community, the Biden campaign, Big Tech, and mainstream media – and the effort to label it ‘Russian disinformation’ was wholly fake.
They tried to tell you things that were culled from Hunter’s hard drive, videos and emails you could see with your own eyes, weren’t real.
Devine denounced the Democrats at the hearing for delivering a “blitzkrieg of lies.”
“Sadly for the liars,” she writes, “the rest of the media finally has acknowledged that the laptop was not a ‘Russian plant’ and that the stories The Post published from it are factual and accurate.”
They still don’t want you to know that. Censoring the information, after all, helped them win the presidential election in 2020. They’re hoping that by continuing to dismiss the attack on the First Amendment as no big deal, they can steal another one in 2024.Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.

34-Year-Old Singer and Actor Cody Longo Found Dead in His Home
Singer-actor Cody Longo, known for his roles in “Hollywood Heights” and “Days of Our Lives,” was found dead in his home in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday. He was 34.
His manager, Alex Gittelson, confirmed his death to CNN.
“Devastated beyond words at the tragic loss of my dear friend and client, Cody Longo,” Gittelson wrote. “My heart breaks for his beautiful family. You will be missed, brother.”
“My heart breaks for his beautiful family,” Gittelson said. “He had taken some time away from acting to pursue music and spend more time with his family in Nashville, but we had kept in touch regularly and he was excited to get back into acting this year.”
“Cody was such a loyal, loving and talented person and he will be greatly missed,” he added.
A family member told TMZ that Cody’s body was found dead in a bed in his home in Austin, Texas.
Stephanie Longo, Cody’s wife, was working at a local dance studio when she became concerned after she was unable to reach her husband. She asked the police to check on Cody.
The official cause of death was not disclosed on Friday, but TMZ reported that Longo’s family suspected he had relapsed.
“The family member tells us Cody struggled with alcohol abuse for years — and went to rehab over the summer. At this time, an official time of death has not been released, but the family believes he relapsed and alcoholism is likely what killed him,” the outlet reported.
“Cody was our whole world,” Stephanie Longo told CNN. “The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated. He was the best dad and best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you.”
Longo is survived by his wife and three children. RIP

UPDATE: Project Veritas Donors Send Letter Demanding Board Members to “Cease Actions Threatening Project Veritas’ Mission”
Earlier in the week, The Gateway Pundit reported that Project Veritas founder and investigative journalist James O’Keefe has been “put on paid leave.” According to a letter reported by Timcast’s Hannah Claire Brimelow, an 11-page letter from the Project Veritas Board of Directors documented “anonymous reports from witnesses and second-hand accounts of a ‘pattern of behavior’ that ‘severely limited’ the staff’s ‘ability to execute the PV mission.’”
Report: James O’Keefe Placed on Paid Leave from Project Veritas
The letter starts out saying:
Note: The opinions, data shared, and anecdotes were compiled by 1/3 of the PV staff, representing every department. Not all signed this letter, but all had compelling reason to contribute. Some singatories have not been the subject of abuse nor witnessed any abuse but found the corroborated behavior troubling and were willing to sign.
It goes on to document several unsourced claims of Project Veritas employees, citing James O’Keefe as being a “power drunk tyrant”. One complainant says “…I believe James knows he’s in over his head, he’s scared, overworked, manic on stress and drunk on the success of the last two weeks. His flaws aside, his aims are genuine and he is a true leader. He just needs a push back in the right direction.”
While the letter doesn’t explicitly call for his resignation, it does call for him to“cease bullying and erratic behavior”

In the letter, the law firm says they represent a large group of “significant donors” who have “grave concerns about the Board of Directors’ reported action to remove Founder and CEO James O’Keefe…”
The argument is that by firing O’Keefe, the Board would be “straying from its roots and the express purpose for which it raised considerable funds from the public.” The letter claims this would be in violation of Virginia charitable solicitation and trust laws.
The letter states:
We are deeply concerned that the Board’s actions to restrict or remove Mr. O’Keefe from his position, take control of the Project Veritas entities, and operate them in a manner inconsistent with the purpose for which the entities were established would violate Virginia law.
Project Veritas dropped one of the biggest stories in the COVID-era last month when they exposed a Pfizer director of R&D talking about mutating the virus, the origins not being “natural” and other “right wing conspiracy theories.” The man, Jordon Trishton Walker tells O’Keefe he was “lying” to impress a date. Right wing conspiracies are a brilliant go to choice for winning over a gay man in New York City.
Twitter and YouTube followers appear to be dropping significantly on Project Veritas channels in protest as “James is Project Veritas” was trending earlier on Twitter.

Finance Director For Boston’s Democrat Mayor Charged With Money Laundering
Freda Brasfield, the finance director for Boston’s Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu, has been charged with money laundering.
Brasfield is described as a Democrat activist and community organizer.

Boston Mayor’s finance director charged with money laundering in prison drug smuggling scheme
Freda Brasfield, the Administration and Finance Director in Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s office, was arraigned Friday on money laundering charges in an alleged prison drug smuggling scheme.
Brasfield, who is also a longtime Boston Democratic political activist and community organizer, appeared in Woburn Superior Court, along with two co-defendants, Jaime Liberty and Jayleen Rivera, both of whom are facing charges of conspiring to smuggle drugs into MCI Shirley.
Brasfield, who is represented by Boston attorney David Meier, entered a plea of not guilty to one charge of money laundering and a charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Brasfield, Liberty, and Rivera were released on personal recognizance.
According to records on file at Woburn Superior Court, a grand jury indicted Freda Brasfield on Dec. 15, 2022.
Prosecutors allege the smuggling scheme stretches back to January 2021 and that it involved a conspiracy to smuggle synthetic cannabinoids known as K2 and Spice into MCI Shirley. Prosecutors say it involved four inmates, including Brasfield’s nephew, and five “non-incarcerated relations or significant others,” including Freda Brasfield.

Watch: Anchor All But Asks Biden to Choose Between Trump and DeSantis, His Answer Is Telling
“I have no idea,” President Joe Biden said when asked Thursday if there would be a difference between running against former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
He was questioned by Mexican anchor Julio Vaqueiro, who attempted to press a bit after the president’s noncommittal response regarding two names frequently touted as top 2024 Republican challengers.
“I’m serious. I have no idea,” Biden insisted. But Vaqueiro continued: Would there be a difference given the polarization of the country that Biden frequently refers to?
“No, I don’t think so,” was the response. “Because I think that they have a similar modus operandi — a similar way in which they work.
“But I really don’t know,” Biden continued, adding, “I’ve never decided to run or not run based on who the opponent will be.”Biden’s mental acuity may be questionable these days, but the instincts and experience of the old pol remain. He and his advisers probably have a good idea of the Republican they would prefer as an opponent.
But they ain’t sayin’.
Also, the issue may not be who Biden’s Republican challenger will be, but whether Biden himself will even be on the ticket.
Four months ago, he told “60 Minutes” that it was his intention to run but that it was too early for him to make that decision. He hinted that the results of the midterm elections would help him decide.After the midterms — which, instead of the expected Republican blowout, ended essentially in a stalemate — Biden reiterated that he had always intended to run for re-election.
But Biden revealed something more in a joke he made. It was after noting that both he and his wife were making the decision as to his running again.
“She’s a hell of a lot more popular than I am in the Democratic Party, too.”What did he say? Is he admitting he has problems with his own party?
There are storm clouds gathering for the president.
After all, despite the statements made Tuesday in his State of the Union address, it’s hard to hide the realities of the suffering economy, growing crime, and even the embarrassment of a Chinese balloon violating U.S. airspace.The Washington Post recently published an Op-Ed listing many of Biden’s lies. That’s surprising, the Post being one of the unofficial public relations arms of the Democratic Party and a defender of its agendas.
And a recent poll showed only 37 percent of Democratic voters want him to run for re-election.
One of the issues is, of course, his age.
Vaqueiro addressed that problem in the Thursday interview.
“You’ve said now multiple times that you have an intention to run for re-election,” Vaqueiro said. “But you haven’t made that decision yet. What’s stopping you from making that decision?”
“I’m just not ready to make it,” Biden responded.
“There’s no motive behind that?” Vaqueiro asked.
“No.”
“How do you win Democrats again?” Vaqueiro asked. “Many of them are concerned about your age.”
“Well, that’s not what I hear,” Biden said. “Look, do you know any polling that’s accurate these days?”
Meanwhile, another friend of Democrats, CNN, published poll results indicating that approval of the State of the Union speech was the lowest since the Bill Clinton sex scandal years.
But back to the other side. Who might be the Republican nominee?
Trump has edged DeSantis in some polling. On the other hand, some polling has favored DeSantis. And who knows what might happen with other Republicans who decide to run?
Of course, it’s not about polling, as Biden indicated. The real determinations are made on Election Day.
Oh, wait.
There are those other things — some election anomalies that need to be resolved as we go forward.

Barr recalled how she was cancelled and said that the left has no sense of humor, especially about themselves.
She says that she was not even allowed to apologize and was just blackballed. She decried cancel culture, calling it fascist.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times released Thursday, the comedian slammed ABC for firing her in 2018 from her top-rated sitcom Roseanne (which was subsequently rebranded The Conners), and compared her treatment to that of two other popular transgressive comics, Dave Chappelle and Louis C.K.
“They didn’t do it to anyone else in Hollywood, although they always [mention] Dave Chappelle and Louis C.K.,” she told The Los Angeles Times. “Well, Louis C.K. did lose everything, but he committed an actual [offense]. Biden Appointee Who Pushes the Unconstitutional Military Vaccine Mandate to Resign
Dr. Terry Adirim during a briefing event at the Reserve Officers Association in Washington, DC last 2019.
The former senior defense official behind the unconstitutional military vaccine mandate will step down from her current position as executive director of the electronic health records modernization program inside the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), according to FedScoop.
Dr. Terry Adirim will step down on February 25 to “pursue other opportunities” outside the department, according to an internal memo sent by VA Deputy Secretary Donald Remy to employees.
According to the internal memo, the position will be filled by Dr. Neil Evans, who is currently a senior consultant for the Office of Information and Technology, until a candidate is identified.
Adirim has served as the VA electronic health record modernization program director since December 2021.
Investigative reporter Jordan Schachtel of The Dossier reported that Adirim signed an order requiring all service members to receive the emergency use authorization (EUA) COVID vaccine while serving as acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs after being appointed by Joe Biden.
“While she was in the Pentagon as the acting assistant secretary of defense for health affairs (serving as a Biden Admin political appointee), Dr Adirim, signed her name to an order forcing service members to take the emergency use authorization (EUA) vaccine. Adirim’s memo attempted to justify mandating EUA shots as if they were FDA approved, which was not the case at the time, and remains the same today. The mandate led to countless vaccine injuries, the worst recruiting crisis since the formation of the all-volunteer military, and thousands of service members discharged for refusing to take the mRNA experimental gene serum,” The Dossier reported.

Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio kicked off the new House Committee on Weaponization of Government by detailing what he and other Republicans have been told by FBI whistleblowers.
Jordan commented that he has “never seen anything like this” in his time in Congress, referring to the number of people who have come forward.
He addressed concerns over the censorship of average Americans and much more.

Parker said that she is enduring the stress of “putting a target” on her back and testifying to speak on behalf of “numerous current and former bureau employees who feel similarly that they do not have a voice.”
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan opened the hearing with an overview of FBI whistleblowers, amounting to “dozens and dozens” of individuals…
Jordan sampled a handful of these tips, spanning back to Nov. 18, 2021, when an FBI whistleblower alerted House Judiciary Republicans that the FBI had create a threat tag for parents expressing concern at school board meetings, and ranging to Nov. 4, 2022, when a whistleblower revealed the FBI accepts private user information from Facebook without user consent, according to a House Judiciary report.

House Republicans Just Blocked A Law That Would Have Allowed Illegal Immigrants To Vote In Washington, DC
This week, House Republicans blocked a law that would have allowed non-citizens to vote in municipal elections in Washington, DC.
This is a reminder of how important the midterm elections are. If the Novermber elections had only gone a little bit differently, this law would have passed.
More than 150 Democrats voted for this measure.

House Republicans Block DC Law That Would Allow Illegal Residents To Vote
In a win for election integrity, the House of Representatives voted to overturn a D.C. law that would give noncitizens a right to vote in municipal elections Thursday.
“I applaud the House for acting to ensure that foreign spies and illegal immigrants are not voting in the nation’s capital,” Jason Snead, executive director of Honest Elections Project Action (HEPA), said in a statement regarding the vote. “Thanks to a Constitutional right and since the District is not a state, the House acted as it should have and has moved to stop this extreme and antidemocratic measure.”
According to the Constitution, Congress has the ability to block laws passed in the District. The GOP-led House voted 260-173 to overturn the new law, with 42 Democrats joining Republicans. For the law to be overturned, it must also be voted against in the Democratic-led Senate and signed by the President. While President Biden has said he opposes the law, he has not stated whether or not he will veto it.
The D.C. Council passed D.C. Bill 24.300 last year, which lowered the qualifications for voting in D.C.’s municipal elections to just one month of residency in the District, discarding the previous U.S. citizenship or legal immigration status requirement. The law goes into effect starting in 2024.
