A man who received a 2-year sentence for setting fire to a Seattle police precinct during the deadly 2020 Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) has filed to run for the Seattle City Council.
Isaiah Thomas Willoughby was released in March 2022 following a two-year prison sentence in conjunction with three years of supervised release for starting a fire outside the Seattle Police Department’s East Precinct in the early morning hours of June 12, 2020. Willoughby pleaded guilty to federal arson charges.
The Tacoma native, who has also lived in Seattle, has filed to run in Seattle’s District 2 against Socialist incumbent Tammy Morales.
In 2019, Willoughby ran for city council in District 1 but withdrew from the race before the August primary.
According to the plea agreement, Willoughby was wearing a bright yellow and green hoodie when he was captured on surveillance video near debris piled next to the wall of the Seattle Police East Precinct. Willoughby admitted to using a gas can, to pour gasoline on the debris. He could be seen on video stepping away from the debris pile for a moment, then reappearing with something that he lights on fire and tosses on the debris pile.

The US State Department has issued a series of travel advisories in the last several weeks over cartel violence, kidnappings and grisly murders in Mexico.
The State Department urged US citizens to avoid the following six Mexican states due to high crime and violence: Colima, Guerrero, Michoacan, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas.

The State Department is urging U.S. citizens to avoid travel to parts of Mexico over fears of kidnappings and other crime across multiple states, renewing warnings as tourists make travel plans for spring break season.
The department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs has issued multiple advisories in the last several weeks over the ongoing violence in Mexico. Cartel violence erupted in Culiacan in early January after authorities arrested Ovidio Guzmán, a leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel and son of imprisoned drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
A State Department spokesperson said the safety and security of U.S. citizens is the department’s highest priority, adding that officials are aiming to provide relevant information for people to make travel plans. Rather than issue a nationwide risk assessment for Mexico, the department provides a state-by-state summary.
State Department officials urged U.S. citizens to not travel to the states of Colima, Guerrero, Michoacan, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas over crime concerns.
The six states have received the strongest warning from the Bureau of Consular Affairs, which cited shootings between gangs that injured or killed bystanders, and kidnappings in which tourists and lawful permanent residents or “green card” holders were targeted.
A Cincinnati architect and his fiancée were murdered in Zacatecas, Mexico last month.

Authorities found four dead bodies buried next to a vehicle with bullet holes and flat tires.
Orange County public defender Elliot Blair was found dead in Rosarito, Mexico last month under suspicious circumstances.

Disney Cutting 7,000 Jobs, or 3% of Workforce, Eyes $5.5 Billion in Total Cost Reductions
Bob Iger is back as Disney’s CEO — and swinging the axe.
Disney will reduce its workforce by 7,000 employees in a bid to cut costs, Iger said Wednesday on the company’s earnings call for the year-end 2022 quarter. The figure represents 3.2% of Disney’s total headcount of about 220,000 worldwide as of Oct. 1, 2022.
The layoffs are part of Disney’s efforts to achieve about $5.5 billion in cost savings. Of that, $2.5 billion represents “non-content costs” (including labor costs) and $1 billion of those targeted cost-reductions are already underway, Iger said. Disney is aiming for an annualized reduction of $3 billion in non-sports content costs, expected to be realized over the next several years, Disney CFO Christine McCarthy told analysts.
Of the $2.5 billion in non-content expenses, about 50% represents marketing spending; 30% represents labor costs; and 20% represents technology, procurement and other expenses, McCarthy said. Disney expects those cost savings to “fully materialize” by the end of fiscal 2024.
Iger said he did not take the decision to cut jobs lightly. “I have enormous respect and appreciation for the dedication of our employees worldwide,” he said.
The company is doing this to themselves.

A bomb from World War II exploded in England on Friday after authorities failed to defuse it.
The explosive device was discovered in the town of Great Yarmouth by a contractor who was working on a construction project.
On Thursday, England’s armed forces attempted to detonate the bomb by using a technique that aimed to create a slow burn of the explosive, but ultimately the technique failed and the bomb exploded.
Per the Norfolk Police, no one was injured from the blast.

During Germany’s Blitz campaign, Nazi pilots dropped over 25,000 bombs on London and nearby ports.
Some of those bombs that were dropped never detonated, just like the recent bomb that was discovered in the town of Great Yarmouth.
Back in 2021, a bomb was discovered in Exeter, a town located southwest of London.
The army detonated the bomb through a controlled explosion but the blasts still caused severe damage to nearby properties.

The mere idea of a slain person’s loved ones not wanting justice for their murder sounds too unbelievable to be true. But this is exactly what is happening in Oakland, California with family and friends of 48-year-old Jen Angel requesting police not turn her assailant over to the state for prosecution.
KRON 4 News reported Thursday that Angel died from injuries sustained during a vicious robbery on Monday. The time of death according to her friends was 5:48 PM.
Angel was robbed in her car in broad daylight by a street thug and then grievously injured while being dragged by his getaway vehicle when she exited her car to retrieve her purse that had been stolen.
She was hauled down the street for more than 50 feet, hitting her head several times. These injuries ultimately led to her demise.

Police have not arrested anyone in connection to the crime thus far.
Before her passing, Angel owned an eponymously named local bakery shop called Angel’s Cakes. She was also a far-left, woke “social justice” activist.
She was particularly opposed to America’s criminal justice system which she viewed as racist.
Because of this, her friends and family claim Angel would not want her killer prosecuted in a court of law if arrested. They instead want “restorative justice” to honor Angel’s memory.
Angel would want “alternatives to traditional prosecution, such as restorative justice. Jen’s family and close friends ask that the media respect this request and carry forward the story of her life with celebration and clarity about the world she aimed to build. Do not use her legacy of care and community to further inflame narratives of fear, hatred, and vengeance, nor to advance putting public resources into policing, incarceration, or other state violence that perpetuates the cycles of violence that resulted in this tragedy.
Restorative justice is defined as a system of “justice” which focuses on helping criminals change by establishing a relationship with their victims and the wider community. This is an idea heavily promulgated by the Marxist Black Lives Matter Movement.
By backing such a noxious idea, Angel’s friends and family are indirectly advocating for more victims like her. The only solution to stopping these crimes is to put violent criminals behind bars.

Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand on Saturday evening held a briefing after Justin Trudeau ordered a shootdown of an object flying over the Yukon.
The Defense Minister said, “This was the first time that a NORAD operation has down an aerial object.”
“The object was flying at 40,000 feet and had unlawfully entered Canadian airspace and posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight,” she said.

A 25-year-old goalkeeper died suddenly during a football match in West Flanders, Belgium on Saturday evening.
Arne Espeel,  a goalkeeper of the Winkel Sport B, has died on the spot after stopping a penalty kick in the second half of the match.
According to a local news outlet VRT, the young goalkeeper of Sint-Eloois-Winkel stopped the penalty kick, but he then collapsed.
“The ball was still in play,” assistant coach Stefaan Dewerchin of Winkel Sport B said. “Our goalkeeper got up as quickly as possible to get the ball, but he fell down afterwards. It was really terrible to see.”
The game was immediately stopped.
The emergency services quickly arrived on site and tried to revive the 25-year-old goalkeeper for half an hour.
Espeel was then rushed to the hospital, but he was later declared dead on arrival.
“The players all showered together after the incident and then we sat down in the canteen,” says Dewerchin. “When the message came that our goalkeeper had died, what an unusually hard blow. I think some players do not yet realize what exactly happened.”
No details have been released yet on the cause of death. An autopsy will be conducted on Monday, according to VRT.

Judicial Watch on Friday announced it received hundreds of pages from the US Secret Service related to the investigation into Hunter Biden’s gun.
On October 23, 2018, Joe Biden’s crackhead son Hunter and daughter-in-law Hallie were involved in yet another brush with the law, this time the incident involved a gun.
Recall, Hunter Biden began “dating” his dead brother’s widow Hallie in 2018.
In October of 2018, Hallie took Hunter Biden’s handgun from his truck without his knowledge and threw it into a trash can behind Janssen’s Market, a Delaware grocery store – the gun went missing and no arrests were made.
In fact, the Secret Service inserted itself into the case and worked as the cleanup crew to protect the corrupt Biden family.
Hunter Biden went back to the grocery store to retrieve the gun after Hallie told him what she did, but the gun was no where to be found.
Delaware police began investigating and searching for the gun because it was left in a trash can across the street from a high school.
A few hours later, and still no gun, police let both Hallie and Hunter leave the scene with no arrests.
At the same time, Secret Service agents questioned the store owner where Hunter bought the gun and asked for the paperwork involving the sale – the gun store owner suspected the Secret Service agents were working to hide Hunter’s ownership of the firearm so he refused to hand over the paperwork.
The gun store owner handed Hunter’s paperwork over to the ATF instead.
A few days after the gun went missing, it was returned by a man who routinely rummages through trash cans looking for recyclables.
This story was first reported by The Blaze in October, 2020.
Politico obtained copies of the Firearms Transaction Record and a receipt for the gun dated October 12, 2018 – and Hunter Biden lied on the form, which is a felony.
Judicial Watched obtained Secret Service records related to the investigation into Hunter Biden’s gun.
Secret Service officials were wondering why the agency was involved in the Hunter Biden gun cleanup if the Bidens no longer received USSS protection at the time – “Maybe we were asked for a favor?” one SS official said.
Judicial Watch reported:
Judicial Watch announced today that it received 487 pages of records from the United States Secret Service (USSS) related to the investigation of Hunter Biden’s gun, reportedly disposed of in a dumpster in Delaware in October 2018. The records show agency officials discussing media reports of its alleged involvement with one finding it “odd” that the Secret Service was involved in the investigation when Joe and Hunter Biden were not receiving Secret Service protection at the time. Another official responds: “Maybe we were asked for a favor?”
The records show the agency alerted the Biden White House and crafted a public statement insisting it had “no involvement in this alleged incident” and refusing to provide any additional clarification to media inquiries.
Judicial Watch is investigating whether and how the Secret Service intervened for Hunter Biden in an incident involving a gun allegedly owned by him. In September 2022, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for records or communications about the reported purchase, possession, and disposal of a firearm owned by Hunter Biden found in a Delaware dumpster in October 2018 (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (No. 1:22-cv-02841)).
Judicial Watch reported in December 2022 that the Secret Service repeatedly changed its position about whether it is in possession of records related to the investigation of Hunter Biden’s gun.
On October 29, 2020, a person whose name is redacted emails a Secret Service official in the “PID” (Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division) with a link to a Blaze article published earlier that day, reporting that Hallie Biden had taken a handgun owned by Hunter Biden in October 2018 and thrown it into a supermarket trash bin. The official then forwards the article to another official in the PID.
An official whose name is redacted later comments in this chain: “Oh dear…”
After being forwarded the same Blaze article, an unidentified Protective Intelligence Research Specialist responds to his colleagues: “It’s kind of odd that we were involved in the missing gun investigation when neither Hunter or Joe were even receiving USSS [Secret Service] protection at the time? Hmmm.” Another official replies: “Maybe we were asked for a favor?”
