The family of a hardened criminal killed by police in Richfield, Minnesota, lashed out at police after bodycam footage showed exactly what happened.
As KMSP reported, Richfield police said that they responded to a report of a car prowler named Desaver Brian Hollis along the 7500 block of Morgan Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. on April 29. Officers later located Hollis a block away from the original scene on Oliver Avenue South.
The police attempted to confront and stop him, but Hollis took off. Sgt. Mario Leon allegedly attempted to apprehend Hollis while another officer, Sgt. Kristian Schultz used his Taser, striking Hollis from a distance.
The officers then went to the ground with the perp, and a fight ensued. Officers said that Hollis next pulled out a gun and shot Sgt. Leon in the hand.
Sgt. Leon and Sgt. Schultz fired back in self-defense, killing Hollis in the process.
On May 4, the Hollis family and their legal representatives accused the police of a cover-up and demanded body camera footage, police vehicle videos, and 911 calls regarding the incident.
“To just say a weapon was brandished and gunfire was exchanged leaves a lot to question,” said Nikki Holiday, a legal liaison for Hollis’ family.
“A life was lost. Let’s get to the facts before we just put these narratives out there and start smearing the victim,” she added.
On Sunday, the family of Hollis announced they had hired a national civil rights law firm to shake down the City of Richfield and the Minnesota BCA. But they were in for a surprise just one day later.
Richfield police released bodycam footage on Monday of the entire Desaver Hollis incident. It confirms the story the cops were telling all along.

Saturday Night Live alum Pete Davidson used Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart to mock the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was killed just eight months ago.
During the live-streamed roast on Sunday, Davidson turned his attention to fellow comedian Tony Hinchcliffe and said:
“Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, in that he’s definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat.”

The crude remark was a direct and deeply disturbing reference to the September 10 assassination of Kirk at Utah Valley University in Orem, where he was shot in the neck during a campus event.
The assassination was captured on video and immediately broadcast all over social media, where his young children will one day see it.
The audience reaction was immediate and audible, with gasps and scattered boos filling the venue as Davidson delivered the line.
Social media erupted almost instantly, with users across platforms condemning the joke as “shockingly deranged,” “gratuitous and cheap,” “zero % funny and 100% vile,” and reliant purely on shock value rather than actual comedy.
Many pointed out that Davidson himself has spoken publicly about the trauma of losing his father on 9/11 yet showed zero empathy for Kirk’s grieving young children.
Davidson’s gross remarks did not stop at mocking the death of a young father.
The “comedian” continued his set by calling Hinchcliffe “looking like both a child molester and the doll they give the child to show where he touched them.”
He also called for someone to kill Hinchcliffe, playing on his stage name “Kill Tony.”
“Oh, you don’t know me? Yeah, kill Tony. Please, someone, fucking kill Tony,” Davidson said. “Tony, nothing you say tonight will hurt my feelings. I was in a beef with Kanye, so I’ve taken shots from better gay Nazis.”
It appears that Kirk’s assassination is now open for jokes, as far as the left is concerned, as just last week, washed-up has-been Kathy Griffin also took jabs at him and his family on her podcast.

President Trump is nominating MAGA firebrand Kari Lake to be the US Ambassador to Jamaica, according to a statement from the White House on Monday. 
Lake, who ran for Governor and Senate in Arizona, was tapped to lead Voice of America and later the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM) last year.
However, as The Gateway Pundit reported, Lake’s appointment as head of the USAGM was ruled “unconstitutional” by a judge earlier this year, blocking her mission to dismantle the agency.
In the order dated March 7, 2025, Judge Royce C. Lamberth of the US District Court for the District of Columbia wrote that all of Lake’s actions “shall have no force or effect,” including reduction-in-force notices issued on August 29, 2025.
Lake shared the news on X, thanking the President for his nomination.
“Jamaica is a country I know very well, full of incredible people, and if confirmed by the Senate, I look forward to strengthening the partnership between our nations, advancing America’s interests abroad, and building on the deep friendship shared by the American and Jamaican people,” Lake said.

The US Supreme Court on Monday cleared the way for Alabama to throw out its current rigged congressional map.
Alabama on Friday filed an emergency appeal at the Supreme Court asking the high court to allow it to throw out its current rigged congressional map.
Alabama’s request to toss out its racist, gerrymandered congressional map comes after the Supreme Court last month declared Louisiana’s newly-drawn Congressional map an unconstitutional gerrymander.
The case, State of Louisiana v. Phillip Callais (and the related Press Robinson v. Phillip Callais), stems from Louisiana’s woke lawmakers caving to left-wing judges and creating a second “majority-minority” congressional district.
Louisiana delayed its May 16 House primaries a couple of weeks ago after the Supreme Court’s blockbuster ruling.
Alabama petitioned the Supreme Court on Friday amid the gerrymander wars.
Conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas ordered a response by Monday evening.
The high court on Monday issued the decision in a 6-3 vote.
The three liberal justices, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson, dissented.
Sotomayor fumed in her dissent.
“The Court today unceremoniously discards the District Court’s meticulously documented and supported discriminatory-intent finding and careful remedial order without any sound basis for doing so and without regard for the confusion that will surely ensue. As with all vacaturs of this kind from this Court, the District Court remains free on remand to decide for itself whether Callais has any bearing on its Fourteenth Amendment analysis or if its prior reasoning is unaffected by that decision,” Sotomayor wrote.

The Supreme Court on Monday removed an obstacle to Alabama using a new congressional map in this year’s election that would eliminate one of the state’s two majority-Black districts.
The court, over the objection of its liberal members, sent litigation over the Republican-drawn map back to the lower court, which could speed up the state’s effort to use its map.
The state has been battling civil rights plaintiffs for years over its congressional map, with a focus on whether a second majority-Black district was required to comply with the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio disclosed new details Thursday about a private meeting with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican.
Speaking to reporters after the closed-door meeting, Rubio said “[I] updated them on the situation with Iran, expressed our point of view about why this was important and the danger that Iran poses to the world, which is largely recognized.”

His remarks quickly circulated online and fueled renewed discussion about the Vatican’s relationship with the Trump administration.
The secretary of state emphasized that the conversation with Pope Leo remained respectful and constructive and he said they “had a very good meeting.”
Rubio described Pope Leo saying, “The Holy Father is a spiritual leader… that’s his role to play,”
He added that the meeting concluded on positive terms, calling it “a very cordial and important meeting.”
Rubio’s comments suggest the administration is actively attempting to reassure international allies and religious leaders that its posture toward Iran is rooted in national security concerns rather than a desire for open conflict.
The Holy See Press Office released a statement confirming these “cordial talks” and acknowledging that Rubio met first with Pope Leo XIV and then with Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Archbishop Paul R. Gallagher.
The Vatican Press Release affirmed “the shared commitment to fostering sound bilateral relations between the Holy See and the United States of America.”
The press release went on to share that, “Views were then exchanged regarding situations on the regional and international levels, with particular attention given to countries experiencing war, political tensions and difficult humanitarian situations as well as the need to work tirelessly for peace.”

Yahoo News reported that the meeting between Rubio and Leo lasted about 45 minutes and was the first meeting between the Pope and a Trump cabinet member in almost a year.

The Washington Post reported that the meeting occurred between a small U.S. delegation which included Sergio Gor, the U.S. ambassador to India.
Tommy Pigott, a spokesperson for the State Department is reported to have shared that the discussions included “ongoing humanitarian efforts in the Western Hemisphere and efforts to achieve a durable peace in the Middle East,” as well as efforts at “advancing religious freedom.”
The closed-door meeting between Rubio and Pope Leo is likely to remain closely scrutinized as diplomatic efforts continue with humanitarian leaders worldwide.

Multiple people were found dead inside of a Union Pacific boxcar in Laredo, Texas, on Sunday.
According to the Laredo Police Department, a Union Pacific employee discovered at least six dead bodies in the cargo train car.
Temperatures soared into the upper 90s in Laredo, Texas, on Sunday.
Laredo, Texas, borders Mexico and has one of the largest ports of entry in the US.
A Union Pacific spokesperson said the company is “working closely with law enforcement to investigate.”
The identities and ages of the deceased have not been disclosed.
It is unclear if the deceased are illegal aliens.

Six people were found dead inside a boxcar on a train Sunday in Laredo.
According to Laredo police, there were multiple casualties at 12101 Jim Young Way near mile marker 13 of Interstate 35.
Police said at 4:04 p.m. they confirmed multiple deceased people at the scene who were found inside a boxcar on a Union Pacific train. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
At 5:37 p.m., police said it was confirmed that six people had died.

President Donald Trump on Sunday rejected Iran’s response to the latest U.S. proposal to end the war, blasting Tehran’s answer as “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” after Iranian officials delivered their response through Pakistani mediators.
“I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives’. I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. 
Earlier Sunday, Trump accused Iran of “playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World.”
The response came after Washington sent Tehran a 14-point proposal earlier this week. 
The American plan would require Iran to agree not to develop a nuclear weapon, stop uranium enrichment for at least 12 years, and hand over an estimated 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%.
Iran’s answer made clear that Tehran was not prepared to accept those terms. Iranian state television reported that the regime viewed the U.S. proposal as “surrender” and instead demanded war reparations from the United States, Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, an end to sanctions, and the release of seized Iranian assets.
In other words, Iran did not respond to Trump’s proposal with a serious peace offer. Tehran responded by demanding rewards.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most important shipping routes in the world, especially for global energy markets. 
The conflict in the Persian Gulf has already disrupted shipping and sent energy prices higher. Iran’s demand for control over the strait would hand the regime leverage over one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints while giving Tehran the ability to threaten global commerce whenever the regime wants concessions.
Reuters reported Sunday that Iran’s counterproposal, cited by the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, called for a comprehensive end to hostilities and the lifting of sanctions. 
Tasnim also reported that Iran wanted the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control to suspend sanctions on Iranian oil sales within 30 days and demanded the removal of the naval blockade around Iran.
Tasnim also reported that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Tehran’s priority was ending the war.
“For now, we have decided to focus on ending the war, because this issue is a matter of concern for the entire region, for our nation, and for the international community,” Baqaei said, according to Tasnim.
That statement sounds diplomatic, but the actual demands tell a different story. Iran wants sanctions relief, access to frozen assets, control over the Strait of Hormuz, and reparations—all while refusing the core American demand that the regime give up the nuclear threat that helped create the crisis in the first place.
Trump’s rejection signals that the administration is not willing to accept a deal that allows Iran to walk away with economic relief and strategic control while offering little in return. 
The president’s message was blunt, but the substance was clear: the United States is not going to call surrender by another name.
Iran had a chance to move toward peace. Instead, Tehran tried to turn Trump’s proposal into a payoff.

National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to talk about the resilience of the US economy.
“It’s interesting to see this market keep up strongly even in the middle of a war. What is driving the economy and how would you assess growth in the US right now?” Bartiromo asked.
“What’s happening is the AI is being folded into the operations of so many companies, that they are seeing their profitability and their revenues and even their employment skyrocket,” Hassett said.
“We’ve had a couple of quarters in a row where earnings surprised on the upside more than they ever have, and that’s why equity markets are going up is because in the end it’s the earnings that describe what the price should be,” Hassett continued.
“There’s an earnings boom going on. This is something unlike anything we have ever seen,” Hassett said.
“This has to mean higher costs for corporate America and for consumers,” Bartiromo said.
“Well, it does in the short run,” Hassett said.
“What kind of economic growth number would you expect for ’26 and beyond then? Let’s assume that we do get out of this war fairly soon. What kind of GDP growth number would you expect for the US economy?” Bartiromo asked.
“That’s the thing that we have been working a lot on lately because the capital spending boom. Remember that in March, capital spending went up by 3.3 percent, not at an annual rate. So, multiply that by 12, and you are looking at historic capital spending numbers because President Trump with his tax cuts which are, you know, getting people to expense, but also onshoring activity, is giving us the capital spending boom unlike anything we’ve never seen,” Hassett explained.
“We’ve got productivity growth at two and a half, I think we really could be looking at numbers north of 4, north of 5, north of even 6 because there is so much capital stock growth right now,” Hassett said.
“We are building all these factories. Once we turn those factories on, you are going to see really, growth unlike anything we’ve seen before,” Hassett said.
“Are you expecting Kevin Warsh to be the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve within a week?” Bartiromo asked.
“A hundred percent, and when you are talking about how well markets are doing, I think that markets are relieved that Kevin Warsh is coming in, that he definitely has the votes,” Hassett said.
