  • More Train Derailments Increase Calls for Pete Buttigieg to Resign as Transportation Secretary

Locals impacted by the recent train derailment in Ohio, which released toxic chemicals into the air and water, are not pleased by the lack of involvement by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, so much so that some residents made that abundantly clear during a recent town hall.
“Where’s Pete Buttigieg?” One resident asked East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway. “Where’s he at?”
“I don’t know,” replied Conaway, “Your guess is as good as me.”
Mayor Conaway also let it spill that the first time he had heard anything from the White House was this Tuesday, weeks after the catastrophic derailment occurred.

    Seriously, Where is Buttigieg?
Yesterday, Senators Marco Rubio and J.D. Vance co-wrote a letter requesting a summary of efforts done by the Department of Transportation in response to the situation.
Thus far the only recent piece of information the public has received from Buttigieg was a tweet sent out Tuesday night, stating that his department is “constrained by law on some areas of rail regulation (like the braking rule withdrawn by the Trump administration in 2018 because of a law passed by Congress in 2015), but we are using the powers we do have to keep people safe.”
Later on Wednesday, he responded to a Twitter exchange between Senator Ted Cruz and Representative Ilhan Omar, both demanding a “congressional inquiry and direct action” from Buttigieg.
He responded by reposting the comments, adding “Glad to see newfound bipartisan agreement here. We could start by discussing immediate steps Congress could take to address rail safety & reduce constraints on USDOT in this area. Give us a call, we can do some good work.”
That’s the thing though, people are reaching out, in fact many important people continue to reach out yet Buttigieg has only seemed concerned with the number of white responders to the scene of the derailment.
Michael Regan, the administrator for the EPA, has responded frequently in regards to the situation in Ohio, and currently plans to visit East Palestine. Buttigieg’s response to that? Simply retweeting Regan’s video announcement; no announcements of his own to join Regan in his visit or to plan his own.
In response to an inquiry by Fox News Digital today, the Department of Transportation stated that the National Transportation Safety Board is currently the lead investigator regarding the incident in Ohio, while they are only in a “supporting role.”

    Calls to Resign
Many critics have called on Buttigieg to step down, claiming that this event is just one of many of examples of his inability to respond like a leader.
Tudor Dixon, former candidate for governor of Michigan and someone with experience in industrial manufacturing, tweeted “Pete Buttigieg is a complete failure as transportation secretary and the latest derailment in Michigan is all the more reason he is unfit to serve.”
Dixon was referring to a derailment outside Detroit which occurred today. Reports indicate that this train could also have been transporting toxic chemicals as well.
The editorial board of the Washington Examiner has also publicly called for Buttigieg’s resignation.
“Buttigieg is notorious for wasting taxpayers’ time on fatuities such as ‘racist roads’ and gender-inclusive pronouns while transportation infrastructure falls apart,” the editorial stated. “A hyper ambitious politician with almost no useful experience, he is desperate to shore up his frayed relations with black Democratic voters, the result of his racially divisive tenure as mayor of South Bend, Indiana.”
“If Buttigieg is serious about ‘equity,’” the piece continued, “he should resign and ask President Joe Biden to replace him with a black nominee. We are not keen on tokenism, but such a move would at least give the nation a better chance of competence at the DOT.”

  • Biden Refers to Maryland’s First Black Governor as ‘The Boy’

It’s time once again to play America’s favorite national pastime – What if Donald Trump did this?
President Biden on Wednesday referred to Wes Moore, Maryland’s first black governor, as a “boy.”
His comment came during opening remarks to IBEW union workers in Lanham, Maryland.
“You got a hell of a new governor in Wes Moore, I tell ya,” Biden said, clapping along to the audience. “He’s the real deal, and the boy looked like he could still play. He got some guns on him.”
Moore played wide receiver for Johns Hopkins University.

To be clear, President Biden often uses the phrase “boy” when referring to people in speeches that are white as well.
Fox News points out that the President spoke highly of Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) last October, telling those in attendance that the lawmaker also has a divinity degree.
“The boy can preach,” he declared.
And while the phrase is typically mundane, when directed towards a black individual in certain contexts, it can be viewed as a racially derogatory term.
He did the same thing to senior adviser Cedric Richmond two years ago.
“I’m here with my senior advisor and boy who knows Louisiana very, very well, man — and New Orleans and — Cedric Richmond,” he said at a press briefing.

BIDEN: “I’m here, uh, uh, eh, the FEMA’s director’s on, uh, uh, FEMA Director Criswell, she’s on. And I’m here with, uh, with my senior adviser and a boy who knows Louisiana very, very well, man, and, and New Orleans, Cedric Richmond.” pic.twitter.com/kCm33nykma

Can you imagine if Trump said something along those lines? No matter the intent? Or any Republican for that matter.
Senator Cory Booker has, in the past, criticized President Biden for his use of the word.

Early on in his Senate career, Biden worried that de-segregation would cause his children to grow up “in a racial jungle.”
The President very famously described Barack Obama in patronizing terms, calling him “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

  • Fauci Takes Heat After Casting Doubt On Efficacy Of COVID Vaccines

By Casey Harper (The Center Square)
Dr. Anthony Fauci is taking criticism after his recently published paper cast doubt on the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.
Joel Zinberg, a Competitive Enterprise Institute senior fellow, blasted Fauci for pushing for strict mandates despite the concerns with the vaccine.
“Dr. Anthony Fauci recently acknowledged that there had always been good scientific reasons to believe that vaccines against the respiratory virus that causes COVID-19 – SARS-CoV-2 – would provide limited protection against infection and only for a short time,” Joel Zinberg, Competitive Enterprise Institute senior fellow, told The Center Square.
“That is precisely what happened: it quickly became apparent that protection against transmission lasted just a few months and effectiveness declined as each new viral variant proved more contagious than its predecessor,” he continued. “Yet Dr. Fauci persisted in insisting that repeated vaccines were needed for everyone and until recently pushed for vaccine mandates.”
Related: Elon Musk Mocks ‘Creepy’ Anthony Fauci Following Report That His Office is Plastered With Portraits of Himself
Fauci, who left his role as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases last year, made the comments in a recent medical journal piece that he co-authored. The piece makes clear that developing long-term vaccines for respiratory conditions like COVID-19 is very difficult and a problem that still needs to be overcome, something researchers have known for years.
From the published article in Cell Host and Microbe:
Considering that vaccine development and licensure is a long and complex process requiring years of preclinical and clinical safety and efficacy data, the limitations of influenza and SARS-CoV-2 vaccines remind us that candidate vaccines for most other respiratory viruses have to date been insufficiently protective for consideration of licensure, including candidate vaccines against RSV, a major killer of infants and the elderly, parainfluenzaviruses, endemic coronaviruses, and many other ‘common cold’ viruses that cause significant morbidity and economic loss…
Taking all of these factors into account, it is not surprising that none of the predominantly mucosal respiratory viruses have ever been effectively controlled by vaccines. This observation raises a question of fundamental importance: if natural mucosal respiratory virus infections do not elicit complete and long-term protective immunity against reinfection, how can we expect vaccines, especially systemically administered non-replicating vaccines, to do so? This is a major challenge for future vaccine development, and overcoming it is critical as we work to develop ‘next-generation’ vaccines.
The paper and other research have shown that Fauci was mistaken or deceptive in his promises about the effectiveness of the vaccine while pushing for it on behalf of the federal government. For example, Fauci said in May 2021 that “when you get vaccinated, you not only protect your own health and that of the family … But also you contribute to the community health by preventing the spread of the virus throughout the community. And in other words, you become a dead end to the virus.”
The latest research shows vaccinated people can still spread the virus.
Related: Fauci Contradicts Biden After Prez Declares ‘The Pandemic Is Over’
The economy nosedived because of pandemic-era shutdowns and countless Americans lost their jobs.
From nurses to Navy SEALS, those who refused vaccination were forced out of their jobs. Elected leaders also publicly attacked vaccine skeptics.
As time goes on, more research and papers like Fauci’s have emerged, either casting doubts on the effectiveness of the vaccine and in some case, highlighting the adverse side effects.
“Thousands of workers who were, perhaps ill-advisedly, willing to risk severe illness themselves, were fired even though vaccines would protect neither them nor their co-workers from infection. Essential personnel including firefighters, police and the military have been lost,” Zinberg said.
“Fauci’s prolonged reluctance to acknowledge the predictable shortcomings of COVID vaccines has undermined trust in public health authorities,” he added. “Even with government efforts to censure ‘misinformation,’ the decreased effectiveness of vaccines in stopping transmission became public knowledge. When the next pandemic comes, people may have little faith in the advice they receive, with potentially disastrous consequences.”

LUNACY: Woke Scientists Say to Replace ‘Male’ or ‘Female’ With ‘Sperm-Producing’ or ‘Egg-Producing’ Instead

It isn’t a week in America if some industry or over-credentialed institution puts out new language restrictions or recommendations.
The word police used to patrol the liberal arts beat and human resources departments. Now, no industry is safe to include the world of science and medicine. If you were to go back in time to the dawn of the feminist movement when women were burning their bras and proudly proclaiming ‘I Am Woman!’ and told them that in the future, using terms like ‘female’ would be considered controversial, I believe they would scream.
Yet, here we are, erasing not just women but men in an attempt to bend the knee to the woke gender ideology mob and appease the delicate sensibilities of a statistically miniscule percentage of our population. Unfortunately, this sort of placation has some possible real-world negative repercussions.

There seems to be a problem with the EEB Language Project’s list of “harmful” terms. They suggest “male or female” as a replacement for “man/woman”. But then you scroll down and discover that “male/female” is also “harmful”. https://t.co/Cze8SHtLsb pic.twitter.com/5Zi2buTK9P

    Sex is Actually Binary
The latest push to erase the two-sex dynamic comes from the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) Language Project, the brainchild of American and Canadian scientists. One of the main changes that have caught the eye of journalists this week is their recommendation to do away with classifying individuals as ‘male’ and ‘female.’
They argue that those terms should be phased out because they reinforce the idea that sex is binary. So to make sure you are keeping up with me, they want to stop classifying individuals by their sex because science is no longer science.
So how should scientists classify individuals? According to this crackpot team of experts, scientists should instead use terms such as ‘sperm-producing’ or ‘egg-producing.’
But my favorite alternate they suggested was to refer to individuals as ‘XY/XX individuals’, so… male and female? So how is it any different? Oh, that’s right, it’s not.
The argument behind these changes is that these new terms avoid “emphasizing hetero-normative views.” Ah, this is not an attempt to be more precise with our science but to appease sexual orientations other than heterosexuality.
Naturally, this nonsense doesn’t just stop with the terms ‘male’ and ‘female.’

Does it surprise you that, in a list of most harmful terms, they have put mother/father, man/woman and male/female?
They also want to replace the word “rape” with “forced copulation” because apparently saying rape in science endorses it as a strategy???https://t.co/lGzs74BPSH

RELATED: Non-Binary God? The Church of England Considers Making Language in Scripture Gender-Neutral

In addition to the male/female terms, the list of suggested phased-out words includes:

    man/woman
    mother/father
    primitive/advanced
    alien
    invasive
    exotic
    non-native
    race

The argument behind phasing out ‘invasive’ and ‘non-native species’ is that, according to these scientists, those terms are “xenophobic, anti-immigrant, and militaristic.” Now, I’m not the end all be all of military terminology and vocabulary. Still, I can tell you that ‘invasive’ and ‘non-native species’ are not militaristic terms, whatever that even means.
Instead of saying ‘invasive’ or ‘non-native,’ they suggest saying ‘newly arrived’ or ‘nuisance species,’ which might be my favorite suggestion yet. How is it nicer to call a group a ‘nuisance species’?!
But perhaps the craziest argument in this mess is the suggested phasing out of two fundamental scientific terms; double-blind and survival of the fittest. Apparently, using the term double-blind could be offensive to those with disabilities.
I think it’s more offensive to assume that blind individuals aren’t intelligent enough to understand the difference between their disability and the definition of double-blind. ‘Survival of the fittest’ is considered possibly harmful because it also discriminates against people with disabilities and is also linked to eugenics.
Look, my husband and I are members of the disabled community. We are both fitter than most regarding survival, especially in light of this sort of activity.

    The Death of Science
It’s pretty illuminating why our country is so far behind China regarding education and innovation. Instead of doing actual science, we are too busy fretting over how much we can virtue signal without regard to how it degrades real science.
Professor Frank Furedi of the University of Kent explains, “I think that when you characterize terms like male/female, mother/father as harmful, you are abandoning science for ideological advocacy.” The flip side of this argument is that while most people aren’t intentionally using their language to cause pain, these terms have the capability of causing “inadvertent harm” due to, as the project explains, “inherent complexities and historical legacies of language.”
Dr. Kaitlyn Gaynor, who helped start the EEB project, states that “The project started as a Twitter conversation among a few people discussing potentially harmful terminology.”
That should’ve been a red flag; nothing good ever comes from a Twitter conversation.
“Regardless of intent, the project of re-engineering language will cause confusion to many and the last thing that scientists need is a lack of clarity about the meaning of the words they use,” says Professor Furedi.
The professor has a point— what kind of catastrophic problems could result from scientists using imprecise language or focusing on ideology instead of scientific principles?

‘Experts’ are now removing the word female and woman and instead calling them ‘egg producing’ people!

    Loss of Focus
It’s a mad world where we focus on policing our words instead of moving forward with real innovation and discovery. Last month museums in the United Kingdom made waves when they said they would phase out the term ‘mummy’ and use ‘mummified person’ instead.
A spokesperson for the National Museums of Scotland said, “The word ‘mummy’ is not incorrect, but it is dehumanizing.” Dehumanizing to who? The dead mummy?!

    — Elizabeth Weiss (@eweissunburied) February 9, 2023

Trust me; I’m reasonably sure the term doesn’t emotionally wound the mummy. Dr. Danielle Ignace of the University of British Columbia defended the EEB project, saying “The EEB Language Project will be a living document, as particular words that are harmful and their alternatives can change over time.”
How comforting we can just continue to spin our proverbial wheels around completely innocuous words instead of, you know, doing science.
“The hope is that this grassroots effort brings people together,” said Ignace.
That’s reasonable, because there were so many times in history when groups of people dictated what people could and couldn’t say, ultimately bringing people together in harmony.

  • Lawmakers Grill Biden’s IRS Chief Nominee Over New Army Of Agents, Backlogs, More

By Casey Harper (The Center Square)
President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Internal Revenue Service took a slew of tough questions from lawmakers on the Senate Finance Committee Wednesday as the agency he seeks to lead faces a series of controversies.
One of the biggest questions facing Biden’s nominee, Daniel Werfel, a former acting IRS commissioner, was how he plans to handle the $80 billion included in the Inflation Reduction Act. Biden made clear that money was meant to supercharge the agency’s auditing efforts by hiring about 87,000 agents who the president claims would more than pay for the investment with new revenue.
Werfel promised lawmakers the audits would target wealthier Americans.
“…the audit and compliance priorities will be focused on enhancing the IRS’ capabilities to ensure America’s highest earners comply with applicable tax laws,” Werfel said.
Critics have argued there are not enough wealthy Americans to audit to justify tens of billions of dollars for new auditors. The IRS recently seemed to contradict the spirit of Werfel’s comments by announcing a program to crack down on tip reporting from waiters and waitresses.
“Stop the presses. No need to raise the debt limit,” Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky, wrote on Twitter. “Biden is going after those billionaire waitresses’ tips,” he added, apparently referencing Biden’s call for a billionaires tax in the State of the Union.

But these aren’t the only issues for Werfel to tackle if he secures the position, which he is expected to do given the Democrats’ slim majority.
The IRS fell behind on tax returns in recent years in large part because it was saddled with distributing COVID-relief checks to millions of Americans. Then-Commissioner Charles Rettig raised concerns about the impact of this extra burden multiple times during his tenure.
Now, the IRS still has millions of suspended and backlogged returns to work through.
“Massive backlogs have left desperate families and small businesses waiting on much needed returns as they fight skyrocketing inflation,” U.S. Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said during the hearing.
The tax-collecting agency fell into the most significant controversy in years after news broke that the Biden administration was planning to have the IRS monitor bank transactions over $600. Bipartisan outrage followed, pausing but not altogether ending the plan.
The IRS announced in January it was delaying the need to report $600 transactions via services like Venmo for one year.
Other lingering issues are also plaguing the embattled agency.
Experts and lawmakers have also continued to push for answers after a Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration report from 2021 showed that the IRS destroyed roughly 30 million taxpayer documents, raising eyebrows.
So far, the agency has given little explanation for the destroyed files, which Americans may need for future audits.
“What specific documents were in the pile? Were any attempts made to contact affected Americans?” Americans for Tax Reform said in a statement. “Many Americans submitted forms only to be told by the IRS that they never did so. How will you compensate them for their lost time?”

Barrasso said all of these issues has diminished the credibility of the tax-collecting agency.
“Restoring the credibility of the agency is going to be a steep mountain to climb. When we visited I said this would be critical as part of your job,” Barrasso added. “The policies enacted by President Biden’s reckless tax and spending bill are really not going to be helpful in trying to regain the credibility of the American people for the agency.”

Cruz Slams FAA Chief For Recent Airline Safety Failures, Says Administration Should Stop Focusing on Things Like ‘Birthing Persons’

Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolen was grilled by Senator Ted Cruz over a recent string of airline safety failures involving the administration and called out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for focusing on “semantics” rather than safety.
During a Senate Commerce committee hearing Wednesday, Cruz focused his attention on a pair of incidents in which planes nearly collided with each other at an airport in Austin, Texas.
One of those incidents involved a Southwest passenger jet that had been cleared for takeoff on the same runway that a FedEx cargo plane had also been cleared to land.
The planes came within less than 100 feet of colliding. Cruz played a video animation of the near-disaster so Nolen would have a better understanding of how close the FedEx flight was to “killing every person” on the Southwest flight.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) noted that he is a frequent flyer out of that Austin airport and uses Southwest airlines for his travels. He then grilled the top FAA official about the incident.
“If you were sitting on that Southwest flight, you knew how close you came to having the plane land on top of you, killing every person on that plane. You would understandably be horrified,” Cruz expressed.
“It was only through, as I understand it, the heroism of the pilots being alert and seeing what was happening that tragedy was averted,” he added. “And yet my question is, how can this happen?”
Nolen contended that the video the Texas Republican had played didn’t properly convey visibility issues at the time of the incident and explained that an investigation is underway into the incident.

Sen. Ted Cruz blasts Pete Buttigieg: “Instead of it focusing on safety, the FAA and DOT were working hard to change NOTAM’s name from ‘Notice to Airmen’ to ‘Notice to Air Missions.’ … Instead the focus should have been on making sure the damn thing pic.twitter.com/y1Mves1hmV… https://t.co/tAbkc6Pb4g

Cruz also scrutinized issues with the Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) safety messaging system which led to flights being grounded by the FAA across America for the first time since 9/11 this past January.
He accused an FAA spokesman of lying about Congressional funding and blasted the administration for not successfully upgrading the system despite full funding for over a decade.
“Full modernization is still several years away. After investing millions of dollars, I’m wondering why is this bureaucracy taking so long to do its job?” demanded Cruz.

Sen. Ted Cruz: “The FAA had its own epic screw up with the meltdown of the NOTAM system. Under Secretary Buttigieg’s watch, the FAA issued the first nationwide ground stop since 9-11, leading to thousands of canceled flights. Now,[Buttigieg’s DOT] didn’t give any Mia culpa…” pic.twitter.com/m3BUU3amMF

As the Senate Commerce hearing was set to begin, the FAA announced they had begun an investigation into a fourth serious airline incident in the past few months.
Aside from the near collision between the Southwest and FedEx flights, a United Boeing 777 and a Cessna in Honolulu nearly collided with each other on the same runway, coming within 1,170 feet of each other.
In addition to those, a Delta Airlines plane almost collided with an American Airlines flight in New York on January 13th, and a United Airlines plane nearly plummeted into the ocean after leaving Maui in December.

Cruz, in his opening statement, slammed Buttigieg for his continuing lack of leadership.
“Now in his third year as Secretary of Transportation, Secretary Buttigieg has failed to deliver any meaningful reform to the FAA,” he asserted. “Although NOTAM modernization started ten years ago, this administration seems focused on semantics.”
“Whether it’s replacing the term ‘mother’ with ‘birthing person’ or creating a new checkbox on passports for people who claim to be neither man nor woman, this administration’s desire to signal its virtue knows no limit.”
The Senator pointed out that in December 2021, the NOTAM system had its name changed.

Sen. Ted Cruz blasts Pete Buttigieg: “Instead of it focusing on safety, the FAA and DOT were working hard to change NOTAM’s name from ‘Notice to Airmen’ to ‘Notice to Air Missions.’ Instead the focus should have been on making sure the damn thing worked.” pic.twitter.com/sBxLMlkiIU
    — Becker News (@NewsBecker) February 15, 2023

“[The virtue signaling] has even infected the FAA,” Cruz continued. “Instead of focusing on safety, the FAA and DOT were working hard to change NOTAM’s name from ‘Notice to Airmen’ to ‘Notice to Air Missions.’”
Indeed, that change is listed as a modernization on the FAA website as it claims changing ‘airmen’ to ‘air missions’ is “inclusive of all aviators and missions.”
“Shockingly, this ‘reform of NOTAM’ did not prevent an outage,” Cruz scoffed.

  • Shelter-in-Place Order Reinstated For Tucson After Dangerous Hazmat Spill

Shelter-in-Place Order Reinstated For Tucson After Dangerous Hazmat Spill

An existing shelter-in-place order in Tucson, Arizona was extended Wednesday morning as the result of an extensive risk to public health caused by hazardous materials that spilled from a vehicle rollover on Tuesday.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, “Unified Command has reinstated the shelter in place order for a one-mile perimeter around the incident. While crews were attempting to remove the load from the commercial vehicle, gassing occurred. I-10 remains closed to both directions between Kolb & Rita roads in Tucson.”
Residents in the area were warned by Unified Command that they could expect “extensive closure” at any point, and will need to seek alternate routes of travel if necessary. For anyone within proximity of the spill, they were also recommended to shut off all heaters and air conditioning systems that could potentially bring the contaminated air into their homes.

This was the scene in Tucson, Arizona as officials told citizens near the chemical crash site to “Shelter in place.”
Why would anyone in their right mind stay in proximity to a deadly chemical spill? Worse, why would government tell citizens to do so? pic.twitter.com/duLdbYscVY

    The Situation So Far
The situation began Tuesday when a crash involving a commercial tanker truck occurred and cased liquid nitric acid to spill on I-10 near Tucson, forcing authorities and emergency personnel to evacuate the area and shut down the highway until the situation could be under control.
As a result of the hazmat leak, a shelter-in-place order was announced Tuesday evening for residents only within a half-mile radius of the crash when it was initially thought that clean up would only take several hours.
Tragically, it was reported that the driver of the commercial vehicle had died. Specific cause of death– whether it be the crash itself or as a result of exposure to the hazardous materials– has not been specified as of yet.
Nitric acid, which the vehicle was carrying at the time of the crash, is most commonly known for its use in making ammonium nitrate which is used for fertilizer, as well as other industrial purposes. If one were exposed to this directly, it can cause irritation of the eyes and skin. Serious contact could result in worse outcomes such as pneumonitis, bronchitis, and other severe symptoms.
According to USA Today, “Overnight weather conditions set back hazardous material recovery and mitigation” and that “Crews have removed the tractor-trailer’s material, using dirt to mitigate further gassing.”

    Second Major Spill This Month
This is the second major situation this month in which public safety was at risk due exposure to toxic and hazardous materials.
On February 3, a train transporting toxic chemicals derailed in Ohio. The Norfolk Southern train derailed and burst into flames before a toxic cloud began to move towards the rural town of East Palestine, forcing residents to quickly evacuate. Locals weren’t able to return home until emergency personnel were able to burn off the hazardous materials from the scene nearly five days later.
Safety concerns however have not gone away. According to Reuters, Governor Mike DeWine has announced that the pollution caused the by derailment is not an immediate concern for the roughly five million citizens who rely on the water from the stream, that contaminants were later found in, for drinking water.

Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree Dies After He Collapses During Arizona Marathon

Pierre Lipton, a 26-year-old athlete and businessman who was featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, passed away after collapsing at the Mesa Marathon earlier this month.
Lipton, a Brown University graduate, was about to finish the marathon in 3 hours, 10 minutes, and 5 seconds, setting a personal best.
After crossing the finish line, he suddenly collapsed near the paramedics, Boston.com reported.
He was rushed to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Though there is still no official cause of death, Lipton’s dad, Dr. Jordan Lipton told the Boston Globe, “the working diagnosis is he might have had some sudden electrolyte imbalance that caused arrhythmia”.
A heart arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat. It occurs when the electrical signals that coordinate the heart’s beats don’t work properly, according to Mayo Clinic.
“On Saturday, I lost the love of my life. The person I thought I would spend forever with,” Lipton’s girlfriend, Eleanor Pereboom, wrote in an Instagram post.
“He accomplished more than anyone I know in just 26 years, but he still had so many plans. Here he is just a couple feet from the finish line. He’s still smiling. Both feet lifted off the ground, he’s still flying. He was doing what he loved,” she continued.
Eleanor’s dad, Derk Pereboom, penned a heartfelt tribute to Lipton.
“Our family has suffered a tragedy this week. On Saturday, our daughter Eleanor and her partner Pierre Lipton ran the Mesa Marathon in Arizona. After completing the race, Pierre collapsed and passed away,” Derk wrote.
“Pierre had a short life, but it was one that shone so brightly. He was an exceptionally generous person to all, motivated by a deep impulse to lift others up, to help them to succeed and be happy. He did so much to enrich all of our lives,” he continued.

Pierre Lipton, a Brown grad, died after completing a marathon on Feb. 4. He was 26.

Brandon Straka Releases Part 3 – the Conclusion of “The American Prisoner” Series (VIDEO)

Brandon Straka from the #Walkaway campaign released Part 1 of “The American Prisoner” earlier this week.
Brandon Straka started the #Walkaway campaign following the 2016 election.  He wanted to take an honest look at why Americans voted for President Trump and why American workers responded to his message.  Straka soon came to the conclusion that these voters weren’t stupid like the far-left media portrayed them.  Rather, they were concerned about the direction of the country and their family’s future.
Brandon soon launched the very successful “Walkaway Campaign” on social media.  Over half a million Democrats who were fed up with the Democrat party insanity joined his #Walkaway movement.  The left and DC elites hated Brandon for his efforts. How dare he leave the Democratic plantation!
Fast forward to Jan 6, 2021. Straka was outside the US Capitol protesting after President Trump’s speech at the Ellipse drew a million supporters who believed the election was stolen.
Straka saw no riots on the side of the Capitol that he was on.  People were praying and singing.  Brandon never entered the Capitol.  A short time later the corrupt DOJ and FBI stormed his home, arrested him, and charged him with bogus crimes and made his life a living hell for the next year.  The Biden DOJ tried to force him under duress to plea to bogus crimes when they knew he had done NOTHING illegal and NOTHING wrong.  The DOJ’s actions were criminal.
Straka was eventually sentenced to 3 months for protesting the 2020 election.
