Kari Lake Takes Her Election Fight To The Arizona Supreme Court

Former Arizona Republican candidate Kari Lake is bringing her election integrity lawsuit to the Arizona Supreme Court, requesting they review her challenge to the state’s 2022 governor’s election.
Lake lost the race to Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs by just over 17,000 votes.

    Maricopa County
Lake has consistently argued that the results were flawed due to problems with ballot printers at some polling places in Maricopa County.
The former candidate has been a staunch supporter of Donald Trump’s yet to be proven claims of widespread election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
That fight for election integrity has extended to her own race.
Lake’s lawyers insist that “public trust in elections is at an all-time low” and “trust must be restored” by granting “review to correct this manifest error.”

Promise Kept!@KariLake swore to the people of Arizona that she would take our fight for election integrity to the Arizona Supreme court.
Today, her attorneys filed to do just that.

Kari Lake Election Fight Goes to Arizona Supreme Court
Lake’s legal filing argues that technical issues in Maricopa County had disenfranchised Republican voters and that the chain of custody for those ballots in question had been broken at a facility located off-site.
Lower courts have consistently rejected Lakes’s challenge of election results, something her appeal to the Arizona Supreme Court states is a veritable admission that “Arizona election laws don’t matter.”
The Associated Press reports that despite the election integrity lawsuits in the four months since her loss, “the courts concluded she presented no evidence that voters whose ballots were unreadable by tabulators at polling places were not able to vote.”
The AP does admit that “defective printers produced ballots that were too light to be read by the on-site tabulators at polling places,” but county officials have insisted the votes were properly recorded by taking them to “more sophisticated counters at the elections department headquarters.”

Walmart Closing its Last Two Stores in Portland, Oregon in March

In late March, Walmart is closing the last two locations it has in Portland, Oregon.
The company’s official line about the closings is that it has to do with store performances, customer needs, and other corporate speak.
Does anyone doubt that this probably has a lot to do with theft? Portland is a hotbed of leftism, and for the last few years, shoplifting has become a norm for the left.
    FOX 12 in Oregon reports:
All Portland Walmart stores to permanently close in late March
The last two Walmart stores within Portland’s city limits will close in late March, the company announced.
The locations, at 1123 North Hayden Meadows Drive and at 4200 Southeast 82nd Avenue at the Eastport Plaza, will both close on Friday, March 24. Walmart says they are closing the stores because they were not meeting financial expectations.
“The decision to close these stores was made after a careful review of their overall performance. We consider many factors, including current and projected financial performance, location, population, customer needs, and the proximity of other nearby stores when making these difficult decisions. After we decide to move forward, our focus is on our associates and their transition, which is the case here,” a spokesperson with Walmart said.
People who live near the stores that are closing say the closure is going to have a big impact on them and low-income shoppers.
“Safeway is the go-to-store if I have to but that’s three times the price I would spend here,” Amanda Pahl said. “What are we going to do? You got to go further, then you have to spend gas money. Might as well pay for it at Safeway at this point.”
As you can see in the video below, locals are not happy about this news.

Fox 12 Oregon spoke with #Portland Walmart shoppers devastated that its stores will shut down. They must now go to more expensive grocery stores or drive further. Shoppers speculate that mass theft was behind Walmart’s decision to close in Portland. https://t.co/xHyRKkhaOy pic.twitter.com/7kx8uS0wPe

  • Biden Regime Admits They’re Prioritizing Climate Goals Over “Energy Security” in Leaked Memo

Biden Regime Admits They’re Prioritizing Climate Goals Over “Energy Security” in Leaked Memo

The Biden Regime admitted they’re prioritizing climate goals over “energy security” in a leaked memo.
The Department of Interior on Friday accidentally leaked an internal memo that revealed the Biden Regime rejected a proposal it admits would produce ‘greater security energy’ to prioritize a climate agenda.
    Fox News reported:
Former Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Director Amanda Lefton recommended late last year that, as part of its climate agenda, the Department of the Interior (DOI) move forward with higher royalty fees for an oil and gas lease sale spanning 958,202 acres in the Cook Inlet off the coast of Alaska, according to the memo obtained by Fox News Digital. DOI Assistant Secretary Laura Daniel-Davis ultimately signed off on the recommendation.
“If a Cook Inlet prospect would be developed, there would be additional government revenues and greater energy security for the State of Alaska, especially if development of natural gas resources in the Cook Inlet ameliorated the long-term supply challenges facing the Anchorage area,” Lefton wrote in the memo.
“Nevertheless, because of the serious challenges facing the Nation from climate change and the impact of [greenhouse gasses] from fossil fuels, BOEM is not recommending this option since it would not include an appropriate surcharge to account for those impacts,” she continued.
Lefton’s specifically recommended the federal government charge drillers with a royalty fee of 18.75% as opposed to an alternative of 16.67% which she said would attract more bids and “be more likely to facilitate expeditious and orderly development of [offshore] resources.”
Daniel-Davis stated in her record of decision — published in November after she signed off on Lefton’s recommendation — that she selected a fee of 18.75% “because this rate constitutes the most reasonable balancing of environmental and economic factors for the American public.” She didn’t mention the alternative would produce greater energy security as highlighted in the memo.
BOEM ultimately held the auction, known as Lease Sale 258, on Dec. 30. The sale garnered just one bid worth $63,983 for a single 2,304-acre tract, according to federal records.
In May, the White House canceled Lease Sale 258, which had been proposed under the Trump administration, in an unexpected decision that was promptly criticized by the fossil fuel industry and Republican lawmakers. However, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) mandated that the administration reverse the decision and hold the sale by the end of 2022.
Manchin lashed out at the Biden Regime for putting their climate agenda ahead of energy security.
“The Department of the Interior mistakenly posted an internal memo making recommendations to Acting Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management, Laura Daniel Davis, on the Cook Inlet Oil and Gas Lease Sale 258 mandated by the Inflation Reduction Act,” Senator Manchin (D-WV), who voted for the Inflation Reduction Act, said.
“I am appalled by its contents, which make crystal clear that this administration is literally putting their radical climate agenda ahead of the needs of the people of Alaska and the United States,” Manchin said.

Russia’s investigative committee has launched a murder investigation after a top scientist was found dead in his Moscow apartment yesterday.
Andrey Botikov, known as one of the 18 scientists who worked on the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in 2020, was identified as the man who had been strangled to death with a belt in northwest Moscow.
It was previously reported he had survived the encounter after an intruder broke into his home and started rowing with him over money.
But a 29-year-old man has since been arrested and charged with the murder of the scientist.
The Investigative Committee of Russia said they found the suspect in ‘the shortest possible time’ after he tried to flee the scene.
They claim he confessed to the crime during an interrogation.
The committee also reported the defendant had already been prosecuted for committing another ‘serious’ crime.
Russian media reported that the suspect, known as Alexei Z, had spent 10 years in prison on charges of providing sex services.

Get Woke, Go Broke: Christian School in Missouri Goes Bankrupt After Embracing the Radical-Left LGBTQ Agenda

A Christian school decided that sharing the Gospel was not enough and embarked on an effort to appease radical-left LGBTQ activists. They paid a fatal financial price for this move.
Urban Christian Academy in Kansas City is a private, K-8 school which provides tuition-free education for low-income students.
The school had always preached inclusivity in accordance to the teachings of Jesus Christ. The first part of their mission statement correctly notes that Jesus welcomes everyone.
But last year they decided to go woke. The school’s administrators added language expressing how were an “affirming school” and “stand with LGBTQIA+ and believe in their holiness.”
The decision-makers believed this would not be problematic.
Immediately following the new language being added, multiple churches withdrew their support, cutting off 80% of the school’s funding.
Now they are no longer in operation.
    ABC News reported:
Urban Christian Academy is a private, K-8 school with an enrollment of 100 that describes itself as providing “a tuition-free, high-quality, Christ-centered education for low-income students.”
The school’s mission statement has always stressed inclusivity in general terms, noting that following Jesus “opens up doors and makes room at the table.” But last year it added a paragraph to its website, which read in part, “We are an affirming school. We stand with the LGBTQIA+ community and believe in their holiness. We celebrate the diversity of God’s creation in all its varied and beautiful forms.”
According to the school, that update prompted donors to stop contributing, many of them citing their interpretation of Christianity as the reason. Now, UCA has announced it will close at the end of the school year due to the loss of financial support.
Kalie Callaway-George, UCA’s executive director and co-founder, said this new language “is kind of what started the backlash from our donor base, which we anticipated. It was just that we anticipated a 50% loss in funding and made adjustments for that. We had an 80% loss in funding and that was too much to overcome.”
The dramatic drop-off in donations came quickly. Soon after the new language appeared on the school’s website, eight churches withdrew their support. Although those institutions were responsible for just 2% of the school’s funding, church members were a donor base that gave much more.
“We lost our network” of donors, Callaway-George told ABC News. “In December of 2021, right before we publicly supported the LGBTQ community, we raised $333,985. One year later, after we had posted on our website and made a stance, [in] December of 2022 we raised $14,809.
Even though administrators expected negative reaction and some loss of resources, they believed an explicit show of support for this community was necessary because of an influx of teenage students and changes in society.

Here is the transcript from Steve’s excellent speech today.
Steve Bannon: hank you. I’d like to be able to report that we’re just in a crisis or there’s a crisis coming, but that’s not the case. There’s no longer a gathering storm. The storm is here. The storm is here.
This is the most dangerous time in world history since the late 1930s, early 1940. And how do we get here? Our betters, our elites? Let us hear step by step by step. What you have now is you have two converging crises, a crises of capital markets and economics and a crisis of geopolitical and military.
And they’re converging very rapidly, and then they’re going to conflate. And once they conflate, they’re going to spin out of control. And it’s anybody’s bet. Now, remember, we came off of, on 3 November of 2024 years of peace and prosperity.
The interest rate, the interest rate, the ten year treasury in the evening of 3 November when Fox News illegitimately called it for the opposition and not Donald J. Trump, of which our nation has never recovered. Of which has never recovered, the interest rate in a ten year straight was 0.8% 0.8%. Today, for the first time, and God knows when, the entire structure of our interest rates from one month Treasuries to 30 year Treasuries went over 4%. Do you understand that the system is set up of debt?
It cannot take those type of interest rates. You will be absolutely crushed. And the people crush the most are the millennials that now have $9 trillion of debt. They are going to be Russian serfs. They’re not going to own anything with no possibility of owning anything.
Professor Rabini just told us about the financial aspects of it. We’re going to have recession, inflation, stagflation, depression, debt crisis. Dr. Doom, who called 2008, said it’s only going to get worse because the world’s got $300 trillion of debt. Now, let’s talk about the United States, right?
What do we have? $32 trillion. That’s nothing. The CBO reports you’re going to have another $20 trillion of debt in ten years. You’re going to be paying a trillion dollars a year in interest payments.
It’s not sustainable. Who got us here with Joe Biden? Yeah, but he got here because of the compromise made by the establishment Republicans in the Senate. They took away the gavel from you. What are they doing right now?
You need dramatic you need dramatic, dramatic cuts. You need dramatic cuts in spending right now and not one penny increase to the debt ceiling. Not one penny. If you prioritize the payments if you prioritize the payments, there’s plenty of cash. The cash comes in, we pay off the interest.
We pay off any securities that come due. We never default in the debt, ever. We pay off Social Security and Medicare and then we have to have a conversation, right? We have to have a conversation. It’s not an easy conversation.
All the easy decisions of decades ago. Now, on top of that, this converges, right? This converges on the geopolitical situation. Look what happened since Trump left office. You have the Ayatollahs in Iran, right?
Tell us, how safe do our allies in Israel feel right now? How safe do they feel? Ayatollah is going to Beijing, having a military ceremony, going to bring Xi to Tehran. You got the merger of the KGB in the CCP. You’ve got erdogan?
You have our great allies in Saudi Arabia already taking and transferring oil to Chinese currency away from the US dollar. You have North Korea and the radical Ajiatis in Pakistan. You have A conversions on the Eurasian land mass. And what are we doing? We’re turning over our foreign policy to Zelensky to let him determine whether he’s going to go take Crimea or not.
In all of this convergence, where’s Merrick Garland today? Is Merrick Garland at DOJ trying to arrest all the infiltration by the Chinese Communist Party in this country? Is he at DOJ helping Ray say, oh, well, they won’t help us on the Wuhan Lab. Maybe we need help. He’s in Ukraine.
He’s in Ukraine yelling, goes to Ukraine. She doesn’t go to East Palestine, Ohio. She goes to Ukraine. The convergence of these two crises is going to lead us into a Third World war. A third world War that are not only going to wipe you out economically and financially in this country, more important, your sons and daughters are going to die on foreign battlefields.
Are you prepared for that? Do you support that? No. I can’t hear you. Do you support it or not?
Because if you don’t stand up and fight it, it’s going to happen. You can’t put all this just on Donald J. Trump. This has to be the American people. You underwrite the entire system.
Are you prepared to fight back? Are you prepared to sit down and just take it?
The elites say you’re too stupid, you’re too lazy, and you’re too disconnected, watching television and watching the bread and circus of modern culture decay. Is that true? Are you sure? Because you underwrite the whole system. The neoliberal neocon system globally is underwritten by you, your taxes, your pension money, the insurance money, and most importantly, your sons and daughters.
You’re the one that can tell Congress, hey, not one increase to the debt ceiling. And we want to see massive cuts. We want to see massive cuts in spending. And we want to see it now, not next year. Don’t give me some happy talk formula.
Don’t give me some set of mathematics. I want to see real cuts. Now, when you talk about real cuts and Russ votes, put it out. The President Biden has always run around talking about it $2 trillion in cuts over the next ten year. I think in Medicaid, these are going to be tough cuts.
Okay? Get the woken weaponization out. Don’t think everyone’s going to be a fight, a tough fight. But think about it for a second. We have to cut trillions of dollars out of our budget every year to accumulate to trillions of dollars over the next ten years.
Everyone’s going to be ugly, right? We’re giving $200 billion to Ukraine. We’re paying their pensions. We’re paying their health care. The people under 35.
Do you have pensions that the government’s paying for right now? You do not. Do you have full health care? You do not. We are underwriting which Europe will not underwrite.
I have no problem at all if the Ukrainian people want to fight a Slavic war for the Russian speaking eastern border of Ukraine, and if they want to go to Crimea and take it back, God bless them, and the Europeans are going to pay for it. We’ve paid enough in the wars in Europe. We’re not a European power. We’re a Pacific power.
I need them on Capitol Hill, in Wall Street, in the city of London to hear you. Can I hear you? Are you going to send your sons and daughters to this war? And this, this is a room of veterans and this is a room of patriots that have served their country. Now, let me tell you where the hard part gets.
The hard part gets we’ve had the oligarchs on the Republican Party, the big hedge fund guys making $16 billion a year. Ken Griffin and, and Mitch McConnell and Rupert Murdoch, they have deemed hey, they know, they have told you that Donald J. Trump is not going to be the President of the United States.
Don’t fall don’t fall for the primary stuff. You have you have really good indecent people. Governor DeSantis, mike Pompeo, tim Scott. Yet you have Nikki Haley. That’s all fine.
It’s not relevant. We don’t have time for on the job training for a man that gave us four years, four years of peace and prosperity.
Show me what Ken Griffin has given us. Show us what Mish McConnell has given us. Show us what Mish McConnell has given us. Show us what the Murdochs, a bunch of foreigners, have given us. What have they given this country?
Nothing. Donald J. Trump, let me repeat, in a very volatile time in American history, gave us four years of peace and prosperity. You know why he put you in the room? To make decisions.
Out of the room, out of the deal. And Trump not only put you in the room, he puts you at the head of the table.
And that’s why they hate him. They don’t hate him. They don’t hate him because he’s Trump. They hate him because he represents you. He gives you a voice, and he will not back down.
Look at look at Fox News. Look at Fox News. The president announces his this is historic. A guy give you four years of peace and prosperity, announced he’s going to run again after having it stolen in broad daylight, of which they participate in they don’t even they cover it live for 20 minutes and then they say if there’s anything newsworthy, we’ll cut back. And they go to some panel and some discussion.
Note to Fox senior management when Donald J. Trump talks, it’s newsworthy.
What happened in the first week of January? You had Matt Gates and Bolbert in the magnificent stakes that stood there and put it all on the line. And what did Fox News do? They rolled out Call Rove and the hats from the Bush administration that got us in this mess to say, we need unity. We need unity to go and look turn.
We’re not looking for a compromise. We’re looking to save our country. We are not. What they mean by unity is you to give up and you to roll over. This is how you get $32 trillion and debt going to $52 trillion and dead.
This is how you get your kid to die on foreign battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan and now in Ukraine. That’s how you do it. And we’re not going to have it anymore. Donald J. Trump donald J.
Trump is not simply a leader of a political party. He is not a politician. He is a leader of the most powerful political movement in American history.
Okay, Murdoch, here’s the way it’s going to be, brother. You’ve disrespected Donald J. Trump long enough, okay? He goes to East Palestine and gets the biden administration. It’s a global news event and you don’t cover it live.
Is there that much happening on Fox News at two in the afternoon that you can’t cover him live? He hasn’t been on Fox News since he announced for presidency. Let me ask you, any guy that brought peace to the world for four years until a Chinese let off a bioweapon, right? Wouldn’t you think to have respect for the audience, you would have him back up here to talk about the geopolitos if you had respect for people, wouldn’t you do that? They don’t respect you.
Read the depositions. The deposition. They have a fear, a loathing and contempt for you. And you are the ones that can make changes. The shareholders.
If you want your share price to stay up, you need to take action. The first thing you need to do is get rid of Paul Ryan as an independent director.
If Paul Ryan is saying that Trump wins, he’s not going to go. Then you got to get rid of him. The Murdochs immediately have to start covering president Trump. No special deals, just cover the man asking the tough questions. But we need to hear the voice of Donald J. Trump.
Hey an old man. Murdoch, while you’re at it, why don’t you? No more softball interviews to the guys running against him and no more infomercials. Okay? Play it straight.
You play it straight, donald Trump’s going to win the primary and Donald Trump’s going to win the presidency.
Let me leave you with what Trump is up against he’s not up against DeSantis or Nikki Haley or Mike Pompeo. He’s up against Ken Griffin and Mitch McConnell and Murdoch. Okay? They have deemed if he wins the primary, they’re going to work for the Democrats just like they work for Hillary Clinton. I was there.
I can tell you. They were in Clinton’s camp the entire way. All they are is about money. And the only people can stop them on the face of the earth are you. You and you.
MAGA. MAGA. Remember Murdoch? You’ve deemed Trump’s not going to be president. Well, we’ve deemed that you’re not going to have a network because we’re going to fight you every step of the way.
If your task and purpose is to take your country back, this country will be saved.

Setting the Record Straight on Election Security and Censorship in Louisiana

LACAG: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON ELECTION SECURITY AND CENSORSHIP IN LOUISIANA
    Guest post by Christopher Alexander
I finally had a chance to closely read a recent article by Michael Lunsford, President of Citizens for a New Louisiana, titled “Don’t Be Fooled, Louisiana’s Elections Aren’t Broken.”  The article warrants a clear response due to its misrepresentation of both law and fact regarding critical issues of election integrity in Louisiana. I take time to respond to the article only because the falsehoods contained in it risk misleading Louisiana voters on the most important issue of our day: the integrity and security of our vote. And “misinformation”, to borrow a term popularized by the Left and used by our Secretary of State to describe any opinion that contradicts his narrative, must be responded to.
Because it would require more space than I have here to respond to all the distortions contained in the article, I will address here only three that involve issues of fundamental importance: 1) The actual recommendation made by the Louisiana Voting System Commission (LVSC) in June 2022 regarding Louisiana’s new election system; 2) The law governing the duties of Secretary Ardoin with regard to voter registration and maintenance; and 3) Ardoin’s potential involvement in an illegal state and federal censorship of political speech in Louisiana.
On the first issue, the article states that the LVSC, of which the author is an appointed member, “and Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin himself, clearly wanted hand-marked paper ballots. We know this because that is exactly what we approved. That system also includes a BMD (Ballot Marking Device) option for the elderly, disabled, and curious.” (Emphasis mine). This is misleading at best and reflects a curious memory lapse by somebody who was, to use the author’s words “present and attentive during the entire process.”
Although there was no shortage of discussion by the LVSC about recommending restrictions on the use of BMDs, and even though the enabling legislation passed in 2021 authorized the LVSC to recommend such restrictions, talk is cheap. The LVSC recommendation included no such qualifying language. The recommendation the LVSC passed was “hand-marked paper ballots and ballot marking devices.” Based upon its own recorded deliberations before the vote, the LVSC knew that the practical effect of its recommendation would give Ardoin complete discretion to implement either hand-marked paper ballots or BMDs as the primary voting method in Louisiana. The LVSC’s recommendation neither imposed on Ardoin any incentive to implement a secure, software-independent, serialized, and auditable paper ballot system, nor any disincentive to implement universal BMDs.
Sen. Sharon Hewitt, a member of the LVSC, candidly stated as much before the vote when she said Louisiana could end up with “a fully hand-marked system, or a fully BMD system,” and there is nothing in the LVSC’s recommendation that prevents either one. Ardoin, who is also a member, and Chairman, of the LVSC, reminded other members before the vote that the recommendation at issue would not commit him to any specific “methodology”, and that he didn’t know “what my office is going to end up coming up with.”
The LVSC surely knew this before it cast its vote, yet the author of the article himself voted for this recommendation, after listening to a multitude of Louisiana citizens express their opposition to BMDs as Louisiana’s primary voting method, and after hearing Dr. Haldeman’s ominous testimony that:
Universal use of BMDs is a major security challenge because if they are hacked, they can misprint or alter votes. They are a large, attractive, target to hackers, making attacks more likely…BMDs can be hacked, without being detected.” (Emphasis mine).
Other national experts also testified about the serious vulnerabilities of BMDs. Additionally, although they did not testify before the LVSC, Andrew Appel from Princeton, Richard DeMillo from Georgia Tech, and Phillip Stark from UC Berkeley, published a national report in 2020 titled Ballot-Marking Devices (BMDs) Cannot Assure the Will of the Voters. In a damning report that should have been required reading for the LVSC, the authors conclude that all BMDs are software dependent, and therefore can be “mis-programmed or hacked…to alter election outcomes undetectably.” For this reason, “A BMD generated paper trail is not a reliable record of the vote expressed by the voter.”  The authors make the same conclusions about Direct Recording Equipment (DRE) used in conjunction with Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines: no machine based voting system is reliable, because they can all be hacked.
The article at issue here is correct in its assessment of Dr. Haldeman’s recommendation, including the limited use of BMDs for citizens who cannot mark a paper ballot due to a disability (as well as up to 5% more to ensure the privacy of the disabled vote). The problem is that the author failed to urge the LVSC to adopt Haldeman’s recommendation. The LVSC’s vote, with the author’s support, contains no language to discourage Ardoin from attempting, for the third time, to spend $100 million in taxpayer money on vulnerable voting machines to the enrichment of the vendor, and to the detriment of hardworking, taxpaying citizens of Louisiana. (For information about Ardoin’s dubious history with one particular vendor, about which the article expresses no concern, go here.)
The article’s effort to euphemize the Commission’s actual recommendation simply does not fly.
Regarding Louisiana’s notoriously dirty voter rolls, the article quotes with disapproval this writer’s recommendation that Ardoin use the “weight of his office” to pressure the state’s registrars to do their duty and clean Louisiana’s rolls.  The article contends that Ardoin, Louisiana’s chief elections officer, has no part to play here. Rather, this is the sole duty of the registrar of voter in each Parish. This is false.
While the article is correct that Ardoin has no enforcement authority over the registrars (a suggestion I never made) Louisiana Revised Statute 18:18 imposes on him an express duty to administer the laws relating to voter registration, to direct and assist the registrars of voters on voter registration matters, to prescribe binding rules on the registrars, and to obtain and compile data and statistics related to voter registration. The author’s assertion that Ardoin is impotent on this issue is at odds with Louisiana law. Ardoin has legal authority not only to act, but to direct the registrars to act. It is imperative that he do so, particularly in light of information revealed in the LaToya Cantrell recall lawsuit that tens of thousands of people who are either dead or have moved were found on the active voter rolls in Orleans Parish. There can be little doubt that similar problems exist in other parishes, some of which have already been uncovered by citizen canvassers.
Ardoin’s supervisory authority over voter registration matters is why he was not dismissed from the Cantrell lawsuit in which a central allegation is that he failed “to supervise” the Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters in properly purging the voter rolls. His supervisory authority has been further confirmed now that the Orleans parish ROV has been dismissed from the Cantrell suit, while Ardoin was not. And a Consent Judgment is being worked out between the recall organizers and Ardoin’s office requiring him to remove thousands of people from the rolls, something election integrity advocates have repeatedly asked him to direct and supervise, but which the article falsely suggests he has no authority to do.
Although the article offers several excuses for Ardoin’s persistent refusal to direct the cleaning of Louisiana’s voter rolls, none of them has merit. Ardoin’s failure to act on this important issue is not the legislature’s responsibility (although the legislature does need to move on legislation that will further strengthen election integrity in Louisiana). It is not the registrars’ responsibility, although they must play their part. It is not the State Board of Election Supervisors’ responsibility. And it is not the responsibility of election integrity advocates whom the article unfairly demeans. It is Ardoin’s responsibility.
Finally, the issue of censorship of constitutionally protected political speech. The article correctly notes that it has now been established beyond dispute that the federal government is systematically colluding with big social media firms such as Facebook, Google, and YouTube, to unconstitutionally censor speech on a wide range of issues. The article then falsely asserts that this writer has implicated Ardoin in this censorship enterprise as a matter of “absolute proof.” This is false. What I have suggested is that recent events and revelations raise reasonable concern that Ardoin is using the power of his office to censor the speech of Louisiana citizens on election matters, and the issue warrants further investigation.
Roby Dyer, President of the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women (LFRW) issued a directive binding on every LFRW member group in Louisiana prohibiting Louisiana Citizens for Election Integrity (LACEI) from presenting information on the problems in our election system at any of its affiliated chapters. I have suggested that Dyer’s directive, which clearly benefits Ardoin in an election year, was neither conceived nor written by her. I have suggested that she was not the prime mover behind the directive, and that if it turns out that Ardoin is behind it – if he is using the power of his office to censor protected speech- it will be a significant political and legal problem for him. The article not only mischaracterizes my position on this issue, it disregards even the possibility that our sitting Secretary of State may be influencing the suppression of constitutionally protected speech in Louisiana.
The author may be convinced that all is on the up and up, but concerned Louisiana citizens across the State should not be. Ardoin served as president-elect and president of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS). On February 8, 2023 Congresswoman Luna (R-FL) exposed before the House Oversight Committee how our government at all levels has been weaponized against American citizens. Luna effectively documented the conspiracy between federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) and state election officials to outsource illegal censorship to third parties, including social media companies, the Center for Internet Security (CIS), NASS, and the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED).
There is cause for real concern whether NASS and NASED are receiving federal grants from CISA and EAC for a “censorship enterprise” as exposed in the Missouri/Louisiana et. al v. Biden lawsuit and the Twitter Files. Evidence to date suggests that officers and members of NASS have developed and implemented a “disinformation” campaign under the Orwellian pretext that they are the only “trusted source” for election information. It should alarm every Louisiana citizen that secretaries of state around the Country are using EAC grants to hire “social media monitoring specialists” to surveil, suppress, and silence the speech of citizens who disagree with their government approved narratives regarding election integrity. This state-sponsored censorship of political speech is frightening, especially since it is being orchestrated by senior state election officials.
It is also important to know that the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office initiated membership into the Center for Internet Security Election Information Sharing and Analysis Center (CIS EI ISAC). CIS EI ISAC is a federally funded, New York based 501c3 Corporation whose members are encouraged to file complaints, or “tickets” against private citizens for speech considered “misinformation,” “malinformation,” or “disinformation.” Social media companies then regulate and censor this speech through the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP). (To fully understand the scope and depth of this sinister, collusive, censorship enterprise between state and private actors I recommend The Long Fuse: Misinformation and the 2020 Election).  Ardoin has also been a “valuable member” of the CISA Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council (EI-GCC).
In a recorded national press brief in 2020 with other Secretaries of State, Ardoin surely sounded like somebody who is more familiar with The Long Fuse than he is with the free speech clause of the First Amendment: “Cyber security is still the main issue that we face, especially one that we can’t prevent but one that we work very hard as election officials to prevent and to deal with and that’s misinformation and disinformation and that’s when our partnerships with our federal partners and our local partners to get the word out as to where you get trusted information and how you can attack some of these misinformation and disinformation campaigns that are attempting to disengage voters from the process because they’re suspect of the process. So we need to just continue our efforts we are doing. I’m proud of what NASS has done and my colleagues from around the country…” (Emphasis mine).
The author of the article may disagree, but cybersecurity has nothing to do with the lawful expression of constitutionally protected speech by Louisiana citizens. And it is not the job of the Louisiana Secretary of State to police that speech, or to participate in any effort to do so. It is, in fact, illegal. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas said that government suppression of free speech is “the most dangerous of all subversions, the one un-American act that could most easily defeat us.”
It is also not Ardoin’s job to increase the number of citizens who vote. While we all want our citizens to participate in the electoral process, Ardoin’s principal responsibility is to secure the integrity of our vote, whether it be for the benefit of three voters or three million.
It is reasonable to expect a direct answer from Ardoin whether he, acting in concert with certain entities to which he is directly connected, is engaged in action to influence the suppression of constitutionally protected speech. Ardoin’s potential involvement in what appears to be a broad, systematic, and coordinated effort to crush disfavored opinions is something the citizens of Louisiana have every right to know. Ardoin’s leadership role in NASS and EI-GCC, and his stated commitment to “attack some of these misinformation and disinformation campaigns” in conjunction with his “federal and local partners” demand that Ardoin squarely address these issues publicly and provide real answers. To date, he has not felt inclined to do so. One can hope that he will be invited at some point to provide those answers before one or more Congressional oversight Committees currently investigating these matters.
Despite all the above, the article suggests there is “nothing to see” in any of this, nothing to investigate, nothing to be concerned about, nothing that should raise questions about whether Ardoin is truly acting in the best interest of Louisiana citizens on matters of fundamental importance. Let’s just move along and find some sand in which to bury our heads. Well, thanks but no thanks. The security of our vote, and the freedom of our voice, were won at too bloody a cost.
On all these issues- what parameters the LVSC actually recommended for Ardoin to follow in selecting our new voting system, whether that system will secure our vote, what legal duties the Secretary of State has regarding voter registration and the cleaning of our voter rolls, and what involvement Ardoin has in the ongoing, systematic effort by our government to suppress our speech- the article falls short of the mark.  Perhaps the words of James Schlesinger are instructive: “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts.” We all have a duty to diligently seek the truth, especially on issues of paramount importance to the survival of this Republic. Fifty- Six brave American patriots pledged, and indeed sacrificed, their “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor” to create a government “of, by, and for the people.” There is no way to preserve such a government without full confidence in the system that secures the people’s vote, and in the chief election official who administers it. Louisianans, stay vigilant.
