Katie Hobbs is wildly unpopular.  In the lead-up to the 2022 midterm elections, she was trailing Trump-endorsed Kari Lake by double digits days before voters took to the polls.  In fact, the four statewide Trump endorsed candidates led or were at least even in the polls prior to November 8th.

Then the Election Day debacle took its course and we know how that turned out.  Election Day voters that skew heavily Republican were disenfranchised when lines wrapped around buildings, parking lots overflowing with cars, and massive discrepancies with the Runbeck Sentio Ballot On Demand printers printing 19″ ballots that could not be properly scanned.
It’s not looking good for “Governor” Hobbs in the subsequent polls, either.  A Morning Consult poll places Hobbs in the bottom three among all 50 governors.  Only Gov. Jim Pillen of Nebraska and Gov. Tina Kotek of Oregon rank lower.  It is worth noting that Kotek was an 8 point underdog (odds, not polls) to Christine Drazan in the 2022 election just four days prior to November 8th, but somehow pulled off a victory in the “Beaver State”.
According to the new Morning Consult poll, Hobbs’ approval rating is just 47%.
Republicans hold 7 of the 10 top spots with Vermont’s Phil Scott getting the highest marks with a 78% approval rating.

 
As if the Morning Consult poll wasn’t enough, social media tells the same story: while Kari Lake just surpassed 1,000,000 followers on Twitter and over 600,000 on Truth Social, her opponent “Governor” Katie Hobbs is hovering around 56,000 in a state with 7.55 million people.  Lake has 20 times the following on Twitter and, well, Hobbs doesn’t have a presence on Truth Social.

Don Lemon suffered an epic meltdown Wednesday morning during an interview with Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
The topic of conversation centered around 2nd amendment rights for Black Americans.
Lemon was angered over Ramaswamy’s astute statements at an NRA conference last week regarding southern Democrats preventing Black Americans from owning guns after the Civil War.
The disgraced CNN host deliberately twisted his words, attempting to deceive CNN viewers into believing Ramaswamy said the Civil War was fought only to give Black people gun rights.
When this tactic failed, Lemon tried to shut Ramaswamy down by playing the race card.
Lemon falsely claimed that Black people do not enjoy equality under the law in America. He then snapped at Ramaswamy, telling the presidential candidate he can disagree with him once he’s black.
Lemon also said the presidential candidate’s bold truth telling was “insulting to black people” and to him as an African-American.
He even threw in a veiled racial insult toward Ramaswamy at the end.

Lemon: You’re making people think that the Civil War was fought only for Black people to get guns…

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky admitted to Congress on Wednesday that vaccinated individuals can spread the COVID virus. This is after spreading vaccine disinformation for over two years now.
This is contrary to her earlier statements on the COVID vaccine. She attributed this change to “an evolution of science.”
In December 2021, Walensky warned that vaccine misinformation was one of the biggest public health threats. She didn’t mention at the time that she was a leading spreader of the propaganda.
Walensky also previously admitted she learned of the effectiveness of the vaccines by watching far-left TV.

A federal judge on Wednesday denied Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s request to block the House GOP’s subpoena of ex-prosecutor and former Hillary Clinton lawyer Mark Pomerantz
US District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil, a Trump appointee, said there is no legal basis to block House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan’s subpoena.

A federal judge will let House Republicans question a former Manhattan prosecutor about the criminal case against former President Donald Trump, ruling Wednesday that there is no legal basis to block the House Judiciary Committee’s subpoena.
U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil rejected Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s request for a temporary restraining order and injunction, finding that committee chair Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, issued the subpoena to former prosecutor Mark Pomerantz with valid legislative purpose.
Vyskocil, a Trump appointee, issued the ruling hours after a hearing in which she peppered lawyers on both sides with questions, asking them to parse thorny issues of sovereignty, separation of powers and Congressional oversight arising from the historic indictment.
Acknowledging the “political dogfights” surrounding the case, the judge said in her ruling that she “does not endorse either side’s agenda.” She encouraged both sides to speak and “reach a mutually agreeable compromise” on how Pomerantz’s deposition will proceed.
Earlier this month House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan subpoenaed former Manhattan DA prosecutor and Hillary Clinton lawyer, Mark Pomerantz for a deposition.
Mark Pomerantz, a former senior prosecutor on the Manhattan DA’s team investigating Trump resigned in protest after District Attorney Alvin Bragg ended the investigation.
He then went on to write a book on the topic.
In the book, he claims the investigation “developed evidence convincing us that Donald Trump had committed serious crimes.”

Jim Jordan summoned Mark Pomerantz for a closed-door deposition on April 20, according to the subpoena reviewed by this reporter.

ESPN celebrated Women’s History Month by honoring  transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.
William “Lia” Thomas was a mediocre swimmer who couldn’t win medals competing as a man.  He decided he was transgender and suddenly, he’s a champion!
Thomas competed for two full seasons as a man before ‘transitioning’ into a female,  shattering women’s swim records  and becoming a champion in the women’s 500 freestyle at the NCAA swimming championships last year.
Former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines has been a brave voice in trying to stop men from erasing women in athletics.
Gaines responded ESPN’s insult to women via Twitter, “Lia Thomas is not a brave, courageous woman who earned a national title,” Gaines, an outspoken advocate for keeping biological men out of women’s sports. He is an arrogant cheat who stole a national title from a hardworking, deserving woman. The @ncaa is responsible. If I was a woman working at ESPN, I would walk out. You’re spineless @espn #boycottESPN.”
The women at ESPN have been largely silent except for a few brave voices.
Earlier this month, SportsCenter anchor Sage Steele shared support for Gaines after the disgusting abuse she faced after a speech at San Francisco State University.

ESPN host Samatha Ponder also weighed in with support for Gaines.

On Wednesday, ESPN host Samantha Ponder, 37, also supported Gaines in opposition of bill presented by the Biden administration earlier this month.
The proposed update to Title IX legislation would prohibit blanket bans of transgender athletes competing against women.
“Under the guise of competitive fairness?” Gaines asked in a tweet showing a video of former Penn swimmer Lia Thomas calling a bill from the Biden administration a “good start,” but also calling for the bill to extend beyond Kindergarten through eighth grade and apply to high school and college athletes as well.

A member of the San Francisco press attended a recent GOP gathering in California.  The message shared was the opposite of reality. 
The California media is apparently all in for DeSantis – or anyone but Trump.  At a recent gathering of GOP in California a reporter from the San Francisco Chronicle reported that California GOP were moving away from President Trump.
Joe Garofoli titled his piece: California Republicans leaving Trump: Meet the conservative congressman backing DeSantis.  He shared: Many GOP faithful are so far unwilling to state a candidate preference in the presidential race.
But according to eventgoers, this was not exactly the truth.  As a matter of fact, it was the total opposite.  The GOP members who attended the conference voted heavily in favor of  President Trump.
According to Cal Matters:
If the latest public polling is to be believed, Republican voters in California, like party faithful across the country, are swinging rapidly toward favoring Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in next year’s presidential primary.
But if the attendees at the latest California Republican Party convention — a gathering of the GOP’s most dedicated activists, volunteers and local officials that took place over the weekend in Sacramento — are anything to go by, former President Donald Trump is still unquestionably the man to beat as he seeks his party’s nomination for a third time.
“Nobody comes up to me and says, ‘What about DeSantis?’” said Deborah Baber, a delegate from Ventura County, as she hawked MAGA Republican buttons outside a Saturday lunch banquet headlined by the new House Speaker (and Bakersfield’s favorite son) Kevin McCarthy, the weekend’s marquee event.
Clad in a stars-and-stripes “Make America Great Again” jumpsuit and flashing a red, white and blue rhinestone Trump purse, Barber’s unmissable display of support for the former president was a common motif at the convention. Trump’s name and slogan were everywhere to be seen, on signs and apparel and campaign paraphernalia; DeSantis, who it should be noted has not yet declared that he is running for president, not so much.
A poll took place at the convention and the results matched the sales of candidate goods outside the event.
Take the grassroots straw poll that Orange County delegate Evelyn Nunez Jones and Los Angeles County delegate Rudy Melendez were organizing at the convention by handing out business cards with a QR code link to an online survey. Early results, with about 150 participants, showed Trump running away with three-quarters of the vote, they said, ahead of a field including DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley (who is running for president) and former Congress Member Liz Cheney (who has not announced a campaign).
Or consider merchandise sales. Marty Miller’s “My Campaign Wear” booth in the convention hall featured Trump 2024 flags and powder blue t-shirts with “DeSantisland” written in the Disney script above a map of the United States — a nod to the Florida governor’s star-making battle against the corporate giant — alongside “Let’s Go Brandon” baseball caps and hot pink buttons proclaiming “hot chicks vote Republican.”
Miller estimated that Trump gear was outselling the DeSantis offerings 85% to 15%. He had loaded up on DeSantis items because his supplier, who is based in Florida, “thought the DeSantis stuff would go really big out here. And it hasn’t.”
California is red and huge MAGA fans.  Don’t let liberals in the local media tell you otherwise.

The Feds are mishandling the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden, according to an IRS supervisor who is seeking whistleblower protection.
US Attorney from Delaware, David Weiss, a Trump appointee, is leading the investigation into Hunter Biden.
In 2020 Hunter Biden revealed that he is under investigation by the feds over his taxes.
“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs,” Hunter Biden said in December 2020. “I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors.”
Hunter Biden is also under criminal investigation for making a false statement in connection with a gun purchase.
An IRS whistleblower says Hunter Biden is receiving “preferential treatment.”
The Wall Street Journal reported:
An IRS supervisor has told lawmakers he has information that suggests the Biden administration is improperly handling the criminal investigation into President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, and is seeking whistleblower protections, according to people familiar with the matter.
A letter sent to Congress on Tuesday says a career Internal Revenue Service criminal supervisory special agent has information that would contradict sworn testimony by a “senior political appointee.” The supervisor also has information about a “failure to mitigate clear conflicts of interest in the ultimate disposition of the case,” according to the letter.
The supervisor has details that show “preferential treatment and politics improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject were not politically connected,” according to the letter.
The letter says the supervisor has been overseeing an “ongoing and sensitive investigation of a high-profile, controversial subject since early 2020,” which it doesn’t name. The investigation at issue is into the younger Mr. Biden, the people familiar with the matter said.
What we do know is that Hunter Biden was hit with a huge tax lien in July 2020 over delinquent state income taxes and he magically “resolved” it in 6 days even though he has no income.
A $450,000 tax lien was filed against Hunter in July and within 6 days, the unemployed “broke” father of 5 was able to “resolve” it within 6 days.
It is unclear if Hunter Biden actually paid off the tax lien.
Hunter Biden must have received special treatment from the government because it could take several months or even years to clear up or negotiate a payment plan for such a large tax lien.

Senate Democrats on Tuesday failed to temporarily replace Dianne Feinstein on the Judiciary Committee.
Dianne Feinstein’s absence from the Senate is holding up Joe Biden’s judicial confirmations.
Feinstein, 89, has been MIA since she was hospitalized for shingles last month.
The California senator’s absence from the Senate Judiciary Committee has the panel deadlocked at 10-10.
It is unclear when Feinstein will return Washington.
Feinstein has missed 60 votes out of the 82 taken this year, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Democrats tried to temporarily replace Feinstein but GOP lawmakers blocked their efforts.

Senate Democrats tried and failed Tuesday to temporarily appoint a replacement for Sen. Dianne Feinstein on the powerful Judiciary Committee, with Republicans objecting to a request that would have allowed Democrats to push through judicial nominations as she recovers from an illness.
The California Democrat has missed dozens of votes since she was diagnosed with shingles and briefly hospitalized in February. Last week, she asked Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to replace her on the Judiciary Committee until she could return to Washington, which she vowed to do “as soon as possible once my medical team advises that it’s safe for me to travel.”
Her absence left the Judiciary Committee split along party lines, meaning the panel’s Democratic members can’t push through President Biden’s judicial nominees without Republican support.
Following a meeting of the Senate Democratic leadership on Tuesday, Schumer said he wanted Sen. Ben Cardin, a Democrat of Maryland, to temporarily replace Feinstein on the committee.
On the Senate floor, Schumer requested unanimous consent to make the switch, which prompted an objection by GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
In February Feinstein announced she is retiring at the end of her term and will not seek reelection.
The California Senator is retiring after THREE decades in the Senate and more than 50 years in office.
Last year the San Francisco Chronicle reported Feinstein’s cognitive decline is so bad that her own Democrat colleagues want her to retire before her term expires at the end of 2024.
The California Senator will be 91 years old when her term expires at the end of 2024.

A trans Montana Democrat lawmaker made threatening comments to his GOP colleagues during a debate Monday regarding the legislature’s efforts to amend a bill that bars gender reassignment surgeries for minors.
As Fox News reported, Senate Bill 99 previously passed in a mostly party-line vote in the Republican controlled Legislature. Montana Republican Governor Greg Gianforte, however, wrote a letter to the legislature asking them to clarify that public funds cannot be used to pay for reassignment surgeries or hormone therapy for minors diagnosed with gender dysphoria.
This caused Rep. Zooey Zephyr to have a meltdown on the House floor. He screamed he hoped supporters would have blood on their hands the next time they prayed should the legislation with amendments passed.
The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands.

Right after Zephyr’s remarks, the Montana Freedom Caucus released a statement demanding the legislature immediately censure him. The group also noted this type of rhetoric leads to events like the Nashville school shooting last month.
The Montana Freedom Caucus demands Representative Zooey Zephyr of Missoula’s House District 100 be censured by the House for attempting to shame the Montana legislative body and by using inappropriate and uncalled-for language during a floor debate over amendments concerning Senate Bill 99 – to ban sex changes of minor children.
This bill already passed the Montana House and Senate, and the debate was over amendments requested by the governor.
This kind of hateful rhetoric from an elected official is exactly why tragedies such as the Covenant Christian School shooting in Nashville occurred.

The Montana House brushed aside Zephyr’s threatening remarks and passed the bill containing Gianforte’s amendments by a 66-34 vote.
Since the newly-amended bill had already passed the Senate a day earlier, it now goes to Gianforte’s desk for him to sign.

Former President Donald Trump, the current 2024 Republican frontrunner, has announced that he would authorize military force against Mexican drug cartels.
Trump was discussing Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) legislation introduced by Reps. Michael Waltz and Dan Crenshaw.
“I would do that,” Trump told Breitbart News in an interview.
Trump released a campaign video in January discussing his support for using the military to curb cartels, but had not weighed in on this specific legislation previously.

The proposal has been condemned by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“In addition to being irresponsible, it is an offense to the people of Mexico,” Lopez Obrador said of the possible use of military force.
Trump said that he likes López Obrador, but that the invasion of our country must be stopped despite his disapproval.
“I also have a very good relationship with the president of Mexico,” Trump told Breitbart. “He’s a socialist but he also happens to be a gentleman. You can’t have everything, right? But he’s a great person. Certainly, I would deal with him. This is an invasion of our country — this isn’t just people walking over. This is an invasion. Many of these are people we do not want in our country. They’re very bad for our country. They’re very bad and dangerous. But this is an invasion of our country. Nope, we will stop it and we will stop it immediately.”
