  • My Children Aren’t Property, but They Are Mine to Raise – Not the Government

When I came to an age where I began my journey into womanhood, my mother would tell me often to make responsible decisions, mainly when it came to my body. Because if I were to get pregnant someday, as she put it, “Your life changes forever, it will never be about you ever again but about that baby.”
This accurate depiction of parenting was an effective scare tactic to keep me from being too irresponsible as a teenager and young adult. Now that I am a mother of two, I can say, as most mothers tend to be, mine was right, your life does change forever.
My kids are six and three, although my youngest would be quick to tell me to let you know he will be four this week. My most important job is not this one I do now as your favorite political commentator, but being a mother, and not for the lovey-dovey Hallmark card reasons you might assume.
My number one responsibility now is to ensure that my children are safe, healthy, and grow up to be valuable positive contributors to society.
To do that, I am entitled to certain rights as their parent. However, some on the left would like to paint parents like me as authoritarian monsters, when the reality is I am not the monster.

Biden: “There’s no such thing as someone else’s child… Our nation’s children are all our children.”
A blatant admission that the left is trying to abolish parental rights. Step away from my daughter, you absolute ghoul.

    The Argument
In the latest left-wing assault on parental rights, editorial sections of all the big media organizations have been churning out articles meant to paint the parental rights movement as something sinister and downright fascist.
The most ridiculous argument came from the New York Intelligencer’s Sarah Jones, who wrote ‘Children Are Not Property’ – a homage to how terrible her Christian parents were and how enlightened she is as a self-proclaimed socialist atheist.
Ms. Jones opens with a line from Proverbs:
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
From there, Ms. Jones explains that “right-wing Christians” believe that:
“A child can be broken, or stamped into shape, much like any domesticated animal.”
This is especially delicious given that this is the actual, real goal of government “education.”
RELATED: The GOP Has Gotten Smoked in Recent School Board Races – What Happened to CRT and Gender Ideology Momentum?
She rounds out her assault on parents who believe they have an ultimate say in what happens to their child with this gem of an accusation:
“Parental rights are merely one path to the total capture of state power and the imposition of an authoritarian hierarchy on us all.”
Now that’s an interesting angle to think that it’s parents like me who want the government and special interest groups out of our children’s hearts, minds, souls, and bodies that are hatching a scheme to exert state control over others.

Teachers want to teach, not be responsible for raising other people’s children- it’s not their job. Many have their own kids!
Parents, we must step up and redraw the boundary between school and home- for our kids and the future of our country. https://t.co/sbLiSG9IIP

    We Know Better Than You
While this particular piece by Ms. Jones touched on the trans movement, a fair amount of the article threw spears at parents like me who homeschool.
This particular fact-devoid statement was my favorite:
“Homeschooling laws are so lax in the U.S. that thousands of children have essentially disappeared into an academic void.”
Not only do you have to ensure that your child progresses year to year against the standards dictated by the state you reside in, but in some states, you also have to make sure your child is up to date on all vaccines; you have to ask permission to homeschool your child, and you have to have specific personal education requirements such as a Masters Degree.
You’d think Ms. Jones would be more concerned with the thousands of children trapped in academic voids in public school who can’t read or do math upon graduation, let alone at grade level.
RELATED: Progressive Journalist Glenn Greenwald to Sue FBI Over Nashville School Shooter’s Manifesto
The sole nod she gives to the public school crisis in this country that, mind you, has been in a steady rot for the last four decades is:
“Even if a child goes to public school, chronic underfunding deprives many children, especially in poor areas, of a sound education.”
This is also a flawed argument; unlike issues related to my house or car, throwing money at the education problem is not a viable solution.
Sound education comes from as little as reading, writing, and arithmetic. If money were the issue, then my parents and their siblings who grew up in the 50s and 60s wouldn’t be as intelligent as they are – and we wouldn’t have such giants of American history like Abraham Lincoln, who went to only one year of structured school his entire life.

    — Scarlett Johnson (@scarlett4kids) April 18, 2023

    Pro-gun + Pro-life = Evil
Ms. Jones continues to connect other traditionally conservative ideas with the dark, seedy underbelly of parental rights.
First up, those of us who support the Second Amendment:
“Adults who encourage the proliferation of guns do so knowing well that children will die. In their hierarchy, the adult right to a gun is worth more than the child’s right to live.”
As usual, this progressive talking head lumps a large swath of the population into one extreme grouping. As a combat veteran, I am well aware of the type of death and horror weapons can cause to a body, including that of a child.
I have no love for maniacs who go into schools and shoot up defenseless children and their educators – and I believe if I were in a situation where a monster with a gun intended to inflict terror on others, I would exercise my Second Amendment right and put two bullets from my legally purchased gun center mass. I don’t want any innocent life to be snuffed out by any weapon. Still, I am unwilling to surrender my right to self-defense against individual monsters or, God forbid, my government someday for the illusion of state-sponsored safety.
Speaking of innocent life, Ms. Jones took a swing at pro-life advocates, writing:
“The fetus is more valuable than the child because the fetus is a means to an end: the subjugation of women.”
How very Handmaid’s Tale of you, Ms. Jones. However, you are correct on the first point; a fetus is a means to an end.
RELATED: NCAA Swimmer Riley Gaines Says the ‘War on Women is Underway’ After Zero Democrats Vote for Bill Protecting Women’s Sports
Having children is the cornerstone of building, maintaining, and expanding civilization. Quality parenting of those children helps society flourish, innovate, and evolve in positive directions.
Being a mother is not subjugation; being a mother is a solemn privilege.

A teenage girl was injured at school while playing volleyball due to her school’s “gender-inclusive” policies.
We’ve received reports that students are afraid to speak up, even though they’re afraid of getting hurt.
This is a parental rights and safety issue. Parents shouldn’t… https://t.co/MowZ1dCOIN

    I Dare You
The author of The Intelligencer’s hit piece on parental rights might lack the outlet’s namesake quality and have a personal vendetta against those who live in faith and think differently than her.
Still, she did have this one accurate line:
“There is no way to control a child forever.”
I do not control my daughter and son; I protect, provide, and guide them on their journey to adulthood. What I do control is what they are exposed to and when.
I do not believe a child can decide their gender, I have a six-year-old daughter and a soon-to-be four-year-old son, and they will always be my daughter and son. Therefore, refusing them “gender-affirming care” is my right as a parent and my duty – not an “act of violence,” as Ms. Jones declares.
    Finally, Ms. Jones states:
“Children aren’t private property, then, but a public responsibility.”
No, Ma’am, my children are not the public’s responsibility – they are mine and my husband’s. And anyone who tries to take our rights away from us will be met with the maximum amount of resistance my husband and I can muster – which is formidable.
Keep your personal issues with your God, parents, and identity away from my kids – they are doing just fine; it’s you that seems lost and sad.

When politcians refer to “parents” having rights over school materials they really mean white parents.

AOC Uses Chinese-Tied Tik-Tok to Celebrate Tucker Carlson’s Firing, Censorship: ‘De-platforming Works’

Socialist Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) used the Chinese-tied social media app TikTok to celebrate the firing of Fox News host Tucker Carlson and to glorify censorship, saying “de-platforming works.”
“Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News. Couldn’t have happened to a better guy,” she sarcastically told her followers.
Ocasio-Cortez then did what she always does, played the ‘poor me’ victim always on the cusp of being murdered by her political adversaries, suggesting Carlson was “arguably responsible for … the most amounts of death threats and violent threats” to her office and to others around the country.
She proceeded to compare the former Fox News personality to a Marvel villain that she fears will rise once again in the post-credits scene of a movie.
Considering she’s admitted to getting therapy ever since the Capitol riots, it’s quite clear her therapist is not doing a good job. This woman is mental.
“But de-platforming works and it is important,” she added. “Um there you go … good things can happen.”

AOC Uses Chinese Communist-Owned App to Celebrate Censorship of Tucker Carlson
As per usual, AOC is incredibly unaware of the optics of her message or even her surroundings. Using an app linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to celebrate censorship in America is truly something to behold.
This is an American lawmaker basically serving as, to borrow a play from the Democrat playbook, a puppet of Xi Jinping.
Ocasio-Cortez’s comments come amidst a bipartisan push to ban TikTok from government devices over national security concerns.
She has expressed opposition to the ban because, like anybody with the mindset of a pre-teen, she really likes to make trendy viral videos with neat-o special effects and the ever-fascinating random zoom-in on the face.

Rep @AOC posts her first TikTok and it’s about the possible TikTok ban.
    1. She says Congress needs a classified briefing on the national security risks.

    — Yashar Ali (@yashar) March 25, 2023

“This is an app that has over 150 million Americans on it,” she said expressing concerns over a TikTok ban. “It just doesn’t feel right to me.”
But de-platforming political opposition whose sole crime against you is exposing Democrats for the consistent liars they are, censorship – that feels right to New York’s favorite socialist.

Raises Funds Off Tucker’s Firing, Suggests She’s Responsible
Not simply content with utilizing a Chinese-owned app to celebrate censorship, AOC actually used news of Tucker Carlson’s firing as a fundraising tool and suggested she played a role.
“It’s official: Tucker Carlson is off the air,” the email begins.
“After years of viciously targeting women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community, Tucker Carlson was told abruptly this morning that he no longer had a show,” it states before soliciting donations to her campaign.
The email notes that while “it’s not clear yet why Fox let Carlson go” *wink, wink*, “Just yesterday, Alexandria called out Carlson, during an interview on Inside with Jen Psaki.”
While an initial statement by the network suggested they had parted ways, subsequent news stories have suggested Carlson was fired by Fox.

Lol… @AOC is fundraising off Tucker Carlson getting fired and pretending it was because of her.
She clearly just wants to date him. pic.twitter.com/dEXrpbZ4Q1
    — Rusty (@rustyweiss74) April 25, 2023

Yet, AOC did state within hours of Fox News letting Tucker Carlson go that the federal government should regulate him and the network for allegedly ‘inciting violence’ on January 6th, 2021.
“I believe that when it comes to broadcast television, like FOX News, these are subject to federal law and regulation in terms of what’s allowed on air and what isn’t,” she said.
“And when you look at what Tucker Carlson and some of these other folks on Fox do, it is very, very clearly incitement of violence. Very clearly.”

Very clearly. People with the foggiest of minds who have never had a clear thought in their life should probably avoid stating things so definitively.
Ocasio-Cortez also told Psaki that the problem of censoring dissenting viewpoints is something “legislating is supposed to solve.”
Now the mini-fascist won’t have to worry about that. Fox News took care of the de-platforming for her.

Nikki Haley Gets Her Revenge on Don Lemon: Firing a ‘Great Day For Women Everywhere’

Nikki Haley taunted Don Lemon following his firing from CNN, saying that it was “a great day for women everywhere.”
The Republican presidential candidate enjoyed a little bit of schadenfreude, referencing Lemon’s sexist jab at her in which he said women in their 40s and 50s are “past their prime.”
An initial social media posting pitched her ‘Past My Prime’ and ‘Hold My Beer’ drink koozies adding: “A great day for women everywhere. Now, let’s get men out of women’s sports.”
A second tweet was also fired off after Lemon was separated from the network.
“To women everywhere, don’t ever let anyone tell you you’re past your prime,” she celebrated.

Don Lemon’s firing didn’t go smoothly on Monday. CNN’s official statement said that Lemon and the network amicably “parted ways,” but the controversial host said he wasn’t even told by his superiors and was “shocked” by the news.
“After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly,” he said in a statement.
The CNN communications team took time to refute Lemon’s claim.
“Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate,” they said. “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
It seems like an odd time – after he’s been fired – to finally step in and fact-check Lemon, but better late than never.

There are a number of reasons CNN may have finally pulled the plug on Don Lemon, from this author’s best guesses. The comments directed at Nikki Haley surrounded by reports suggesting ‘misogynistic’ behavior could certainly have contributed.
Just weeks ago, he accused Haley, who had just announced her campaign for the White House at 51 years old, and other women in their 40s and 50s, of being “past their prime.”
The comments left female viewers and his co-anchors a little shocked.

Shortly thereafter, a report from Variety claimed the CNN host had a history of engaging in misogynistic and “diva-like” behavior, even outlining an instance in which he reportedly sent threatening texts to a female colleague.
“Now you’ve crossed the line, and you’re going to pay for it,” Lemon allegedly told correspondent Kyra Phillips.
Phillips had received an assignment that Lemon coveted, according to that report.
However, CNN actually defended their embattled anchor, noting the report “relies on anonymous sources and unsubstantiated claims from 10 to 15 years ago.”

Some reports have suggested Lemon’s recent tense interview with Vivek Ramaswamy, in which he mischaracterized the GOP presidential candidate’s comments on the civil war, reduced him to “whatever ethnicity you are,” and insisted black people don’t enjoy freedom in America, played a role in his firing.

While debating post Civil War history, @donlemon preposterously claimed that “black people still aren’t allowed to enjoy their freedoms.” That’s an insult to the progress we’ve made over the last 160 years. DeSantis, who was speaking by satellite from Tokyo while on a tour, added, “You know, I loved supporting him while he was president. Tulsi Gabbard Dismantles Democrat Party for Holding No 2024 Primary Debates

    By Dr. Derek Ellerman
Ah yes, it’s one of those days where the world just makes sense, the stars align, and everything is as it should be.
The Party of Democracy that protects democracy from rightwing attacks on democracy and is all democracy-like is under fire for strengthening democracy by not holding any primary debates for the 2024 election.
Should any Democrats out there be interested in democracy, and there seem to be a few since only 26% of Democrats even want Joe Biden to run again, well that’s just too bad.
And there are a few voices on the left who are not pleased with the situation, like former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard.

When I ran for Pres in 2020 the debates were rigged but in a subtle way. Preferred candidates were given more time and fed softball questions. Tulsi makes two excellent points.
First, debates in and of themselves can easily be rigged. As Tulsi explained it, the moderators – almost always TV talking heads – need only to ignore the candidates they don’t want, and shine the spotlight on the ones they do want.
Additionally, they can give easy softball questions to their preferred candidates, while lobbing grenades or accusations at the less desirable candidates.
But Tulsi insinuates something further here, to my reading. She says, “This time Democrats are taking no chances so there will be no primary debates.”
It could be entirely unintentional, but to my eyes that looks like protecting Biden. After all, he hasn’t been the brightest orator for some time.
And this time, there’s a Kennedy gunning for the Oval Office.

While he has been unfairly maligned as a gadfly, the Democrats are smart to not take RFK Jr. so lightly.
There’s something about the Kennedy’s. Already, USA Today notes that RFK Jr. is pulling 14% from Biden.
How much higher will that number be by the time debates roll around?
And remember that 26% number? How many of the other 74% would happily pull the lever for Bobby the Younger today? What about in a few months?
Of course we can’t forget about our old pal Marianne Williamson, who is also running for the donkeys – but at the risk of being one of those people, I’m going to ignore her.

The DNC has already stated that there will be no presidential primary debates.
They are attempting to coronate Joe Biden, just like they did w/ Hillary Clinton.

Now, to be fair, the GOP didn’t have debates in 2020, either.
Partly because Donald Trump had overwhelming approval among Republicans, partly because there were no serious challengers like a GOP-Kennedy, and partly because – my guess here – Trump told them to get lost.
Ah, but see, the Republicans are the party of fascism, so this is to be expected.
The Democrats, on the other hand, are the Party of Democracy.
And democracy, my friends, dies in the darkness of a backroom at the DNC.

  • A Child’s Primer for Liberty: Laura Ingalls Wilder’s ‘Little House’ Series

The following is a condensed version of “A Child’s Primer for Liberty” by John O. McGinnis, published at Law & Liberty.
Of all the books my wife and I have read to our now seven-year old daughter, none has taught as much about life and liberty as the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Most literature that enthralls children, like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, is fantasy, but this series, being a memoir of the Ingalls family when Wilder was growing up, is  based in fact—even if softened by a degree of nostalgia with a modified timeline and composite characters.
Her family members cannot call on magic but only on their own inner strengths to survive in a world of outer scarcity.
RELATED: WATCH: Andrea Mew Says Traditional Masculinity is Good, Not ‘Toxic’
This austere setting makes the series the best introduction for a child to virtues indispensable to liberty—self-reliance, personal responsibility, and respect for individual choice. The difficult lives of her family also naturally prompt discussion of how and why our lives have become so much more comfortable today.
While these transformations may seem akin to magic, they have been brought about by capitalism—another important lesson for a child.
From the very first book, Little House in Big Woods, Ingalls remembers her five-year old self as struggling with self-control. She believes that Mary, her elder sister, is both better behaved and more beautiful, with golden curls compared to her dirty brown locks. Even at this early age she helps with small chores, like churning butter. The Ingalls family has almost nothing saved.
Pa can obtain the fabric for clothes and small treats, like candy, only by trading the fur of the animals he traps. Still, there is leisure in the evening and plenty of singing with Pa leading on his fiddle. Laura is fascinated in particular by the stories that Pa tells to while away the dark winter nights. Sometimes Laura wants to complain about their hardships but she learns to stop herself and instead contribute to family merriment.
The course of Laura’s childhood recapitulates in miniature the famous thesis of Frederick Jackson Turner about American history, in which the wide open frontier determined our national character. Pa moves in the hopes of a better life only to move again when those hopes are disappointed. He leaves the little house in the big woods in Wisconsin, because the place is getting overcrowded, no doubt reducing his supply of animal furs.
RELATED: The Woke Revolution Is Erasing the Past
He moves to the plains of Kansas and builds a new house, only to find that the territory belongs to Native Americans. Before the soldiers come to move them off, he takes his family on yet another wagon journey to Plum Creek in Minnesota. There he builds another home, expecting to make a good living through abundant wheat harvests. But hordes of locusts destroy his crops.
The scenes of the locusts are brilliantly rendered both when they descend in a glittering cloud to alight on his wheat and when a year later their brood marches off West in the millions having eaten all the surrounding vegetation. Wilder captures both the biblical grandeur and desolation of the events.
Pa then moves his family to South Dakota hoping for a better harvest. But the family faces early on a winter so terrible that they almost starve. Pa ends up making a living as a clerk who oversees the building and maintenance of the railroad, his change of job presaging the new generations that will move off the farm. Through all Pa’s many failures, the family receives no support from the government but relies on neighbors and each other. They pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and start all over again.
The book is also the portrait of young girl in the act of creating the woman who would emerge as a skilled author at sixty. Wilder had very little formal education and what learning she did have was from one-room schoolhouses, supplemented by her mother’s homeschooling and Sunday school.
Like James Joyce, she delights in words from an early age. She revels in her father’s gifts as a story teller. Her sister Mary’s blindness forces her to hone her talents as a succinct lyricist of the natural world so she can fully describe what Mary cannot see. And unlike her other sisters, she always is eager to go outside the home to observe unusual happenings, like the way teams of rough workers make smooth the way for the railroad across the swells of the plain. In a nation of self-made men, she is quintessentially the self-made writer, carving out, as from marble, a monument to her family’s life and the wild variety of surrounding nineteenth-century America.

Trump Says He’s ‘Shocked’ Over Tucker Carlson Firing: ‘What is Going on at Fox News?’

Donald Trump said he was “shocked” over the news that Tucker Carlson had been suddenly fired by Fox News and, coupled with the departure of conservative commentator Dan Bongino, openly wondered what is going on over at the network.
In an interview with Newsmax’ Greg Kelly, the former President lauded Carlson for being the gold standard in media today while indicating he was very surprised by the news.
“I’m shocked. I’m surprised, he’s a very good person, a very good man and very talented, as you know, and he had very high ratings,” Trump said.
“I don’t know if it was voluntary or it was somebody fired,” he added. “But I think Tucker’s been terrific, he’s been, especially over the last year or so, he’s been terrific to me.”
While an initial statement by Fox News suggested they had parted ways, subsequent news stories have suggested Carlson was fired by the network, though specific reasons have been rather sketchy.

Donald Trump also posted about Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News on his Truth Social media platform.
“The fact that Tucker Carlson will no longer be on Fox News is a big blow to Cable News, and to America,” he wrote.
The current leader for the Republican nomination for President in 2024 also noted that Tucker “was insightful, interesting, and ratings gold.”
“He will be greatly missed!” he added.

Trump also posted a video of a keynote speech Tucker Carlson delivered at the Heritage Foundation’s 50th-anniversary celebration this past weekend.
“Lies are contagious, but so is the truth… the more you tell the truth, the stronger you become,” Carlson said in the address.
The more you tell the truth, the more Fox seemingly tucks their tail and runs away.

Trump Also Laments Loss of Bongino at Fox
In a subsequent post, Donald Trump addressed the turmoil at Fox News and noted the recent departure of conservative political commentator Dan Bongino.
As The Political Insider reported on Thursday, Bongino parted ways with the network after ten years.
“Simply put, we were unable to agree on an extension. That’s truly it,” he told listeners. “I had a great time there. For 10 years, they were helpful to me. Sad day today.”

    — Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) April 20, 2023

Bongino pointed out that he was given the option to do a final show, a concession Fox News was not willing to give Carlson.
“They did give me the opportunity to do one last show. I don’t want you to think they like, showed me the door, that’s on me, not on them,” he said.
It’s confounding that Carlson wasn’t shown the same respect – especially as a ratings giant that brought millions to Fox News through his show. Although we don’t know details at this time of what happened behind the scenes, it is a curious development.

“Oh no, not Dan Bongino also?” Trump wrote, seemingly learning of the news just recently. “Not only Tucker, but Dan.”
“What is going on at FoxNews?” he wondered.
It’s tough to say, but their ratings are certainly going to take a massive hit. Brian Kilmeade was thrown into the 8 p.m. timeslot Monday night and people were not pleased.

It’s not Kilmeade’s fault for filling in where he was asked. But going from Tucker’s show to last night’s effort is a disaster. And there is nobody currently on the Fox News roster that can compare to Carlson.
Are we watching the actual downfall of Fox News? Did the liberal censorship brigade finally win in shutting down the one rare voice of truth on primetime?

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.

  • EPA Announces $400 Million for ‘Clean’ Buses in $5 Billion Plan to Transform School Fleets

By Tom Gantert (The Center Square)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Monday it had at least $400 million in grants to help school districts pay for alternative-energy school buses.
The grants are part of President Joe Biden’s agenda to provide $5 billion to “transform the nation’s fleet of school buses.” Last year the Biden administration awarded nearly $1 billion to fund electric and low-emission buses for school districts.
RELATED: Report: Biden’s Energy Plan Costs Jobs, Ratepayers
For example, in 2018, the Seattle Public Schools passed a resolution stating it would be “fossil-fuel free” by 2040. That resolution stated, “All new district vehicles purchased after April 10, 2021 will be either zero-emission or, if zero-emission is not possible, the vehicle will produce the lowest-possible emissions.”
The School District of Philadelphia stated it plans to purchase 47 alternative fuel buses this year. The district had 349 diesel, 16 gas and five electric buses at the start of the 2022-23 school year.
Traditional diesel school buses cost about $90,000 on average while electric school buses cost about $290,000, according to Gregory Poole Equipment Company, which sells school buses in North and South Carolina.

He’s senior advisor to the president and White House infrastructure coordinator. “Communities will also benefit from cleaner air and energy savings by replacing old, dirty diesel school buses with cleaner alternatives.”

RFK Jr. Receives His First Endorsement From Elected Official

Since launching his presidential campaign on April 19th, endorsements for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have been trickling in each week.
Kennedy’s latest endorsement comes from one of his long-time friends New York City Council Member James Gennaro.
In a post made on Facebook, Genarro praised Kennedy for his prior environmental work in New York City.
Genarro continued to write about how Kennedy supported him when he first ran for office.
The New York City Council Member concluded his post by writing “I will support my longtime friend and colleague Bobby in his quest for the Democratic nomination for the presidency. I hope you will consider him as well.”
Gennaro’s endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is believed to be Kennedy’s first public endorsement from an elected official.

James Gennaro seems to be the first elected official in the country to endorse RFK Jr. for president. They disagree on vaccines, he insists, but they’ve been friends for 30 years. https://t.co/2drfzSKPfu

    Per City & State NY
New York City Council Member James Gennaro endorsed Kennedy in a Facebook post on Saturday. Gennaro explained that the two had been friends since the early 1990s after working on City Council environmental legislation together. Gennaro, a Democrat, chairs the council’s environmental protection committee, and Kennedy is a longtime environmental justice advocate, most notably with the clean water nonprofit Riverkeeper.
“He has done more for the environment than anyone I know,” Gennaro wrote, “including me, and that’s saying something, if I may be so bold.”
Kennedy has fundraised for Gennaro’s campaigns throughout the years, and Gennaro said he went to Kennedy’s campaign launch event in Boston last week.
One of Kennedy’s biggest endorsements came from former Green Bay Packer’s quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
