FDA: More than 500K COVID Tests Should be Thrown Out Due to Bacteria Contamination that Can Cause Illness

If you think you might be unwell, a COVID-19 test can help. But there are those that could truly get you ill.
Over 500,000 home COVID-19 tests are being recalled due to the presence of possibly dangerous bacteria in the liquid solution.
In a recall announcement made this week, SD Biosensor, Inc. said that more than 40 batches of its Pilot COVID-19 At-Home Tests were affected.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has stated that roughly 500,000 of the recalled tests were delivered to CVS Health and around 16,000 were sent to Amazon.
The contaminated kits may also produce false test results.
    10TV reported:

The FDA stressed that none of the recalled lots were distributed through federal testing programs or through COVID.gov.

The affected tests can be identified by the lot number on the outer packaging and should be thrown in the trash. If you have one of the recalled tests, you are urged not to pour the liquid down any household drains.

The potentially harmful bacteria was found in the test tube with liquid inside (pouch 2 of the kits), according to the recall announcement. It notes that while the liquid is contained in a sealed tube, direct exposure to the liquid through misuse or spillage could potentially lead to serious illness.

Additionally, the FDA said the contamination may impact the test performance and cause false-negative or false-positive results.

Consumers can see a full list of recalled lots below or look up their test kit’s lot number on this website, which will indicate whether a particular test kit may be used or should be properly disposed of.

Consumers may also contact the Roche Customer Support Center at 1-866-987-6243 and select option 1. If a consumer’s test kit is from an unaffected lot, it is safe to continue using tests from that kit in accordance with the instructions for use, which can be found in the test kit or at go.roche.com/covid-home-test.

Triggered Liberals Including AOC Have Meltdown and Accuse Elon Musk of Racism Over Comment on ‘Interracial Violent Crime Incidents’

On Saturday, triggered liberals had a meltdown and accused African-American Elon Musk of being a racist over his comment on interracial violent crime incidents.
Twitter user @EndWokeness recently shared a data detailing the number of cases of interracial violent crime in 2018.
The black-on-white crime was found to be much higher than white-on-black and Hispanic-on-black crime in the data.

    Black on white: 547,948
    Black on Hispanic: 112,365
    White on black: 59,778
    White on Hispanic: 207,104
    Hispanic on white: 365,299
    Hispanic on black: 44,551

    Perspective is everything pic.twitter.com/Xpvmr1CfHo
    — End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) May 5, 2023

Elon Musk commented on the data, “Odd, why would the media misrepresent the real situation to such an extreme degree?”

It’s because the left & their Media use blacks as a political shield to hide their agendas behind the false virtue of “protecting a marginalized minority”. To keep this scam going, they must constantly cast black people as oppressed.
This is straight out of the cultural Marxism…
    — Melissa Tate (@TheRightMelissa) May 6, 2023

This question triggered the liberals including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and accused Elon Musk of being a racist.
“At this rate he’s gonna be begging for MyPillow ad buys in no time,” AOC tweeted.

Here We Go… Chicago Gay Bar Stops Selling Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch Products After Brand Bows to Anti-Trans Critics

You knew this was coming – Now the gays are getting frothy.
Several Chicago gay bars announced they will stop serving Bud Light and Anheuser Busch products after the brand “abandoned” its support for the transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.
The Chicago gay bars are also outraged that Bud Light put two unhinged marketing directors on leave after the colossal mistake.
It’s not clear how many pretentious gays drink Budweiser at the clubs in Chicago.

    Block Club Chicago reported:
A slew of Chicago gay bars have stopped selling Anheuser Busch InBev products after the beer giant distanced itself from transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney’s Bud Light marketing campaign amid anti-trans backlash.
2Bears Tavern Group, which owns four gay bars from Uptown to Rogers Park, was the first to drop Anheuser-Busch InBev, posting on Instagram Thursday that its abandonment of Mulvaney amid controversy “shows how little Anheuser-Busch cares about the LGBTQIA+ community, and in particular transgender people, who have been under unrelenting attack in this country.”
Sidetrack, a 41-year-old gay bar founded by LGBTQ rights pioneers Art Johnston and Jose Pepé Peña, later made the same announcement.
“We must also hold brands accountable if they take active steps against LGBTQ+ equality, visibility and safety,” Sidetrack posted.

  • Black Man Charged with Hate Crime After Shooting Two Strangers in the Back of the Head “Because They Were White”

Black Man Charged with Hate Crime After Shooting Two Strangers in the Back of the Head “Because They Were White”

    Source: Tulsa Police Department
A black man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly murdered two strangers in a racially motivated shooting at a library and a convenience store.
Prosecutors in Tulsa County charged Carlton Gilford with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of shooting with intent to kill, and one count of malicious intimidation or harassment (Oklahoma’s equivalent of a hate crime).
According to Tulsa Police Department, Gilford shot and killed Lundin Hathcock at the Rudisill Library, and then minutes later, he shot and killed James McDaniel at a QuikTrip.
“Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office charge Murder suspect, Carlton Gilford, with Hate Crime,” Tulsa Police Department wrote on Facebook. “Two weeks ago we arrested Gilford after he shot 2 people in the back of the head, one at Rudisil Library and the other at QuikTrip. At this time, there does not appear to have been any connection between the victims and the suspect.”
According to Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler’s interview with KOTV, evidence reveals that black suspect Michael Gilford shot and killed two white individuals because of their race. Kunzweiler did not provide more context.
“After examining the evidence from the case, District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler, charged the suspect with the additional Hate Crime,” Tulsa Police Department said.
    Source: Tulsa Police Department
    KKTV.com reported:

Police said Gilford went inside the Rudisill Library around 9:40 a.m., walked up behind a man sitting at a desk and shot him in the back of the head.
The victim, identified as 35-year-old Lundin Hathcock, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He died at the hospital.
Police said after the library shooting, Gilford ran to a nearby QuikTrip. Inside the convenience store, Gilford shot another man in the back of the head. When that victim fell to the ground, Gilford shot him a second time, police said.
The victim inside the QuikTrip was identified as 55-year-old James McDaniel. He died on the scene.
Police said surveillance video showed Gilford also fired shots at a security guard and another person outside the QuikTrip.

When police arrived, Gilford was standing outside the store and admitted to officers that he shot two people, Tulsa police said.
Gilford was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail, where he is being held without bond. According to jail records, Gilford is homeless.
He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of shooting with intent to kill, and one count of malicious intimidation or harassment – which is Oklahoma’s version of a hate crime charge.
KJRH reports that under Oklahoma law, there is no specific hate crime statute, but malicious intimidation or harassment includes targeting someone based on their race.

  • Leaked Texts Show Tucker Carlson Criticizing Fox News Over Arizona Election Call in 2020

Text messages obtained by the Daily Beast show former Fox News host Tucker Carlson being heavily critical of the network’s decision to call Arizona so early for Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election.
Fox, you may recall, put Arizona in the win column for Biden well before other mainstream networks were willing to concede.
In fact, several outlets waited days before making the move.
Many on the right believe this helped drive down turnout in crucial areas.
Text messages from Carlson to fellow anchor Bret Baier seem to spotlight how the former host could foresee how things would turn against them with such an early call.
“When Trump loses, he’s going to blame us,” he wrote. “That’s going to be very bad.”

Text Messages Show Tucker Carlson Criticizing Fox News Over Arizona Call
While The Hill report finds the Trump quote the main thrust of Tucker Carlson’s newly leaked emails, the reality is that the exchange with Baier shows he is heavily critical of the Arizona call and working feverishly to help the network safe face.
“I continue to think the company isn’t taking the [sic] seriously enough,” he told Baier the following day. “We need to do something to reassure our core audience. They’re our whole business model.”
Carlson asked if there was some way he could help keep the Fox News Decision Desk from making any other premature calls.
“Do we have a plan for this? We could lose our audience,” he fretted.

    — Florida Forever (@1floridaforever) May 5, 2023

After Baier responded that he had pushed the network to not be so hasty with their election calls, Carlson requested he be kept abreast of the situation.
“We could really fuck up a lot of what we’ve built,” he said, to which Baier agreed.

That broadcast lives in infamy. https://t.co/BctfraPZxw

RELATED: Tucker Carlson Blasts Fox News For Cutting Away From Trump Press Conference On Alleged Voter Fraud
Carlson Wasn’t Happy With the Call Back THEN
You may recall that Tucker Carlson was visibly irritated with the Arizona call during the Election Night broadcast, calling out then-politics editor Chris Stirewalt for making the announcement and then defending it.
“I’m not privy to the math, I’m not certain how, even after the explanation from Chris Stirewalt, how that decision was made,” Carlson criticized.
“I think our viewers trust us, but people are concerned.”

And now you have Tucker Carlson openly pushing back on Fox News calling Arizona for Biden.

    — Justin Baragona (@justinbaragona) November 4, 2020

Days later, Carlson took a shot at Fox after they cut away from a press conference held by Team Trump regarding unproven allegations of voter fraud.
Anchor Neil Cavuto cut away from the event when Trump’s team referenced “illegal votes.”
“She’s charging the other side as welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting,” Cavuto said. “Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue to show you this.”

Neil Cavuto cuts away from White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany because he deems her words too dangerous to hear.
Instead of letting us decide, he interprets her meaning for us, even using words she never said.

    — Xeriland (@Xeriland) November 10, 2020

Carlson on his own broadcast argued that it’s not the network’s job to cut away from things they believe are false, it’s their job to present the news and commentary and let their viewers decide.
“In a democracy, you can’t ignore honest questions from citizens,” Carlson said. “You can’t dismiss them out of hand as crazy or immoral for asking. You can’t just cut away from coverage you don’t like.”

    — Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) November 10, 2020

Interestingly, the latest text messages show Carlson was already seemingly annoyed with having to work at Fox News.
“I’ve got four more years here,” Carlson said, referencing a need to keep viewers happy after the Arizona call. “I’m stuck with Fox. Got to do whatever I can to keep our numbers up and our viewers happy.”
After his firing last month, the network’s numbers are down and their viewers are definitely not happy.

  • ESG Is Digging a Deeper and Deeper Hole for Itself

    By Terrence Keeley for RealClearMarkets
Remember the hole-digging rule? When you’re in a hole, stop digging. Digging deeper when you’re already in a hole only means steeper, more desperate climbing when it’s finally time to get out.
Ever-deeper hole-digging describes the state of ESG investing today. Though more than $50 trillion has been committed to ESG and other sustainable investment strategies, the world is no closer to achieving its net zero objectives, nor is the global economy more socially inclusive than it would have been otherwise. These are not my findings, mind you; they are the conclusions of Professors Davidson Heath, Daniele Macciocchi, Roni Michaely, and Matthew C. Ringgenberg, who studied the behaviors of hundreds of firms over the past decade.
RELATED: ESG: The 3 Letter Left-wing Acronym That Is Secretly Coming For Your Retirement
ESG funds haven’t done much incremental good. Neither are they doing very well. As an asset class, ESG equity funds have underperformed broad market indices by hundreds of basis points in recent years. Underperforming the market while failing to achieve any of one’s desired environmental and social objectives is the essence of hole-digging.
The latest example of this type of ESG foolishness took place a few weeks ago, with the pricing of the largest exchange-traded fund (ETF) in history. It was launched by DWS, Deutsche Bank’s asset-management arm, and backed by Ilmarinen, Finland’s largest private-pension insurance company. Dubbed the “Xtrackers MSCI USA Climate Action Equity ETF,” the fund was designed for investors seeking exposure to large and mid-sized companies in the U.S. that are “leading their sector peers in taking actions relating to climate transition.” It all sounds wonderful – until you look under the hood.
DWS’s Xtrackers MSCI USA Climate Action Equity ETF prioritizes the top 50% of companies in MSCI’s global industry-classification sectors. Its performance will be evaluated against a climate-action index that MSCI designed and maintains. None of this is groundbreaking. MSCI tracks hundreds of thousands of its own indices every day.
The world’s largest ratings provider has made an entire sub-industry out of designing highly customized ESG indices and deploying its own analytics in an attempt to beat them. It’s like having your cake and eating it, too. What MSCI can’t and won’t promise is that all of its new ESG indices and analytics will beat broader indices – nor do anything that verifiably promotes better global climate outcomes.
RELATED: Governors Of 18 States Form Coalition To Fight Biden Administration’s ESG Policy
Investors who are serious about getting carbon emissions down should use their capital to make dirty companies, buildings, and industries cleaner, and/or pioneer new carbon-mitigating technologies and processes. Investing in companies already considered virtuous accomplishes neither of these goals. It also precludes participation in asset transformations that generate the greatest incremental financial value.
If you want to beat the market, try turning a brown company green. For all these reasons, DWS’s Xtrackers MSCI USA Climate Action ETF is likely to underperform the market over time while doing little incremental good. It’s another $2 billion tossed down the ESG hole.
What should investors who want to do well and do good do instead? “Know what you own and why you own it,” Peter Lynch advised. Investing in accordance with one’s values is important, but so is ensuring that your capital (or lack thereof) has its intended effects. Decades of socially responsible investing – in which investors avoided the shares of alcohol, tobacco, gambling, and firearms companies – did nothing to curb drinking, smoking, gambling, and gun violence.
Avoiding the shares of companies that need to make changes more likely holds back transformation instead of accelerating it. Activist shareowners make far more impact than disgruntled divestors. Divestiture precludes activist engagement.
Making bad companies good is the essence of value creation.
RELATED: Biden Vetoes Bipartisan Bill, Therefore Keeping Left-Wing Wokeness in Your Retirement Accounts
The ESG-industrial complex was born of good intentions, but its abysmal track record and failed methodologies are now plain to see. Beating broad indices is incredibly hard; fewer than one manager in seven over any five-year period ever does so. Investment strategies that avoid multiple companies or whole industries have and most likely will continue to underperform them. Double bottom-line investing is most successful when investors prioritize verified impact along with highly diversified, risk-adjusted returns.
Investors who want market returns should stick with the lowest-cost index funds that track them. Those who want their investments to improve outcomes for future generations should target corporate scofflaws, actively exercise their stewardship rights, and prioritize other strategies and asset classes where non-financial additionality can be verifiably measured. Let’s fill in holes rather than dig them ever deeper.

  • Only 13% of 8th Graders Are Proficient in American History – We’re Seeing the Results

Only 13% of 8th Graders Are Proficient in American History – We’re Seeing the Results

I went to what was considered one of the best public schools in Minnesota. However, I rarely had teachers show up to class, and the ones that did often phoned in their jobs by doing what I used to call “teaching from the VCR” (for my younger readers, that was a machine hooked up to a television that would play movies if you inserted what was called a tape into it).
I did have one particular teacher during my freshman year who made a formidable positive impression on my mind – Mr. Perkins, my Social Studies teacher. His great student-led debates on famous Supreme Court cases and current events sparked my love of U.S. history and government.
In that classroom, I learned to appreciate history, how our imperfectly perfect government operates with the rest of the world, and how important it is to preserve this grand experiment.
You’re going to have a hard time finding students in a similar situation today, because our schools are failing students so badly I can hardly even believe these numbers.

Is this abhorrent history and civics data (akin to criminal malpractice) how you define “Our educators know what to do, we need to leave politics out of the classroom and let teachers do their jobs”, @SecCardona? CLEARLY, most educators are failing the children.#LiteracyCrisis https://t.co/P6dF7GF54I
    — Moms for #FAPE & #EducationFreedom (@Moms4FAPE) May 3, 2023

    Epic Failure
The National Report Card dropped some more disappointing news this week about the education of our nation’s youth. Not only are our kids considerably worse than prior generations in math and reading, they are also woefully behind in their comprehension of history and civics.
But these numbers are just something else.
Only 13% of 8th graders scored proficiently in history, and only 22% in civics. For those of you who need a refresher, civics is the study of how our government works – a fairly essential concept to understand if you want to be a functioning member of society.
These numbers mean that over 80% of 8th graders don’t understand the historical context of the Gettysburg Address and can’t name one way that Congress fulfills its constitutional duties. (Although to be fair, Congress’ fulfillment of its constitutional responsibilities is debatable.)
RELATED: Over 50% of Gen Z Supports Censorship Over Freedom of Speech
Over three-quarters of these students don’t know the essential functions of the government they will be participating in as taxpayers, voters, and various other aspects of society. Not surprisingly, public school students did worse than those who are in private and charter schools.
You’d think Big Education would be interested in collaborating to find out what those schools are doing right and what they are doing wrong, but that would require them to care about students versus their self-interests.
But the truth is, these scores have been dismal for decades. Ask 10 people on the street who the first President was, and you’d probably get at least five blank stares.
Now look around at your country. You’re seeing the results of Big Education.

Today I gave a speech In Defense of Public Education. In good times and bad, public schools are cornerstones of community, of our democracy, our economy and our nation.  We need to support them to help our kids recover, learn & thrive. #WhatKidsNeed https://t.co/uBw04g9t6u
    — Randi Weingarten (@rweingarten) March 28, 2023

    It’s Obviously Not Their Fault
Like anything that makes this administration or our country look bad, the usual boogeymen were invoked as the culprits of this decline in education.
COVID got a nod from several within the administration; after all, if it hadn’t been for those school closures that nobody advocated for (looking at you, Fauci, and Randi), then our students wouldn’t be doing so poorly.
But my favorite line came from Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, who claims the results indicate the following:
“It tells us that now is not the time for politicians to try to extract double-digit cuts to education funding, nor is it the time to limit what students learn in U.S. history and civics classes.”
With the Department of Education one of the most well-funded in the federal government to the tune of $174 billion, it’s hard to buy that part of the problem with our decline in education scores is financially related.
Secretary Cardona went on to state:
“Banning history books and censoring educators from teaching these important subjects does our students a disservice and will move America in the wrong direction.”
Because teaching kids to hate America, that we were founded on white supremacy and privilege, and that democracy and capitalism are not ideal compared to authoritarianism and socialism is the right direction. Give me a break.

Look at declining scores on tests. Look at schools dropping class requirements & final exams for graduation. Look at MedSchools not requiring the MCat to balance diversity.Adding the societal influence & dropping important skills damages futures & lowers professional skills.

    A Long Time Coming
The truth is nobody should be surprised by these numbers. A decade ago, only 18% of 8th graders were proficient in history.
Ten years ago, we did nothing to fix this problem. This was painfully evident to me while I was in the service when Airmen from that age group didn’t know the difference between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden or that we were even at war with anyone at the time.
Commissioner of the National Center for Education Peggy Carr rightly explains that this issue is even more concerning:
“because it’s a decline that started in 2014 long before we even thought about Covid.”
RELATED: You Thought Schools Were Woke Before? Say Hello to ‘Equitable Grading’
Some argue that since history and civics courses require a lot of reading, the decline in reading proficiency is to blame; less than one-third of 8th graders are proficient in reading.
This is a fair argument given that reading is a prerequisite for every other course – but misses the larger picture of what history and civics teach.
    Ms. Carr explains:
“It’s not just about reading, it’s about context, facts, dates, information about our constitutional system.”
In other words, it’s about taking the whole picture and utilizing critical thought to form coherent arguments and positions on issues pertinent to today. But, if you listen to any of our elected officials, one could argue that skill has been deficient for decades.

Q: What do the declining NAEP scores really tell us about students’ civics and U.S. history skills and knowledge?

It fits that 40 years ago to the month, a report was published titled ‘A Nation at Risk’ that warned of the following:
“The educational foundations of our society are presently being eroded by a rising tide of mediocrity that threatens our very future as a nation and as a people.”
At this point, mediocrity would be a step up for our nation’s youth. Americans need to understand that those of us who have stood by for decades saying nothing about the state of our education system and those who have willfully sought to change the nature of our country by manipulating the minds of our youth have been complicit in educational child abuse.
Kerry Sautner, who works with the nonprofit National Constitution Center, said:
“Students are beginning to disengage from – and become more fearful of expressing their opinions on – history, government and other topics important to civic learning.”
It’s not enough that we’ve allowed bad actors to censor our speech and thoughts when we disagree with the progressive left; we’ve now subjected our children to it.
For those who wish to argue that the reason history and civics scores are so low is because of racist white Republicans, let me drop this fact from the National Report Card: only 6% of 8th graders could articulate how two ideas from the Constitution were reflected in Dr. Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech.

In 2022, just 13% of 8th graders’ tested proficiently in U.S. history while civics test scores saw their first ever drop in the subject area, according to data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress, known as the “Nation’s Report Card.”

    Dangerous Results
Reading and math are critical, and we must focus on these subjects to compete in the world market. But understanding history and civics is equally crucial to the survival of a nation.
    Thomas Jefferson once lamented:
“How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on Earth enjoy!”
No doubt true in his day, but even more true today. Suppose you are taught only to hate your nation’s founding and everything it stands for. In that case, you have no reason to sign up to fight for it, no reason to participate in it at the voting booth, and no reason to try to make it better by serving in it.
Another lesser-known Founding Father, Benjamin Rush, said:
“Freedom can exist only in the society of knowledge. Without learning, men are incapable of knowing their rights, and where learning is confined to a few people, liberty can be neither equal nor universal.”
We may be the freest nation on Earth, but that will only last so long as we have a properly educated country.

This morning, our Nation’s Report Card released the U.S. History and Civics results for 2022 and they are the LOWEST since 1994. This is unacceptable. The future of our democracy requires us getting this right. See our full statement below. pic.twitter.com/X01c4OiiBY

  • Inflation Still Too High? Let Them Eat EVs

    By Patrice Onwuka for RealClearEnergy
Inflation rose 5% last month compared with one year prior, according to the latest consumer price index. That is the lowest level of price increases since May 2021, though it’s still not down to pre-Biden and pre-pandemic levels. Inflation’s easing may provide some relief, but it will be too late to rescue many once-thriving American households.
The harsh reality is that excessive government spending, starting with the American Rescue Plan in 2021, spurred inflation and the ensuing hardship that households – especially middle-class households – are struggling with today.
RELATED: Americans’ Banking Fears Worst Since 2008 Financial Crisis
President Biden has denied responsibility for the high prices. Whether Americans blame him or not, they give him no credit for helping them through it. In new Monmouth polling this week, just 10% of Americans say middle-class families benefited “a lot” from Biden’s policies, while over half (51%) say the middle class has not benefited at all. Perceptions of Biden’s support for the middle class took a nosedive from early in his term. President Donald Trump had similar low numbers early in his term, but he had turned them around by the time he left office.
In the same poll, one-quarter of the public names inflation or rising gas prices as the biggest concern facing their family right now. This proportion is down from one-third last summer, signaling that Americans are feeling a little better about the slowing of inflation.
The left is quick to credit the misleadingly named Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) for this marginal improvement, but Americans aren’t buying it. Half of adults say that the federal government’s actions over the past six months have actually hurt their families. Just 1% rank climate change as a top priority. The IRA was a climate bill dressed up as price relief, but it is not helping Americans or addressing what matters most to them.
RELATED: ‘Climate Envoy’ John Kerry’s Jet-Set Spending Is Getting Plenty of Cloud Cover
Simply put: the left is out of touch with middle America and the middle class. In Democratic political circles, Ohio Rep. Mercy Kaptur has been circulating a stunning data visualization showing how most of the wealthiest congressional districts are represented by Democrats, and most of the poorer half of districts by Republicans. Referring to colleagues like former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, she said, “There’s an elitism that pervades when you have wealth.”
The implications are clear. Politically, the terrain favors the right – at least in the House. As Cook Political Report’s Dave Wasserman told Axios, “Increasingly, districts that make up the majority of the Democratic caucus don’t really reflect the middle-income districts where the House is won and lost.”
The left’s elitism is on full display through its policies. Take President Biden’s push to force Americans to abandon gas-powered vehicles. His tougher new emissions standards could require as much as 67% of all new vehicles sold in the U.S. by 2032 to be all-electric; last year, though, electric vehicles accounted for just 5.8% of all the 13.8 million new vehicles sold in the country. The price tag of EVs is just too high, according to six in 10 Americans, which is why they wouldn’t purchase one any time soon.
Shelling out an average of more than $58,000 for a car is an afterthought for coastal elites with comfortable six-figure incomes, but it’s out of reach for many U.S. households. Furthermore, fewer EVs may qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit that is supposed to make them affordable under new rules proposed by the U.S. Treasury Department.
RELATED: Is JP Morgan’s Purchase of Failed First Republic Bank from the FDIC a Government Bailout?
Asking a semi-retiree like “Lynne Allen” of Key West, Fla, to pay that much to purchase a car is just another “let them eat cake” policy. “Lynne” came home from a paralegal job one day to find her husband collapsed at the bottom of the stairs. She was forced to retire early to care for him, but 40-year-high inflation drove her back into the workforce. She sometimes had to clock 50 hours a week to make ends meet.
Her adult son moved back in with her and her husband. Yet all their earnings and her husband’s disability check are still not enough to afford basic necessities. Eggs are a luxury for a woman who almost bursts into tears when a customer drops a $20 bill into her tip jar. She says, “Oh, wow, that means we get chicken tonight.” She often chooses between grains and veggies, meat or no meat at all.
“We worked our whole life. We owned a charter boat. We owned a home, and we lost it all. We were still happy. We were still making it, and then [the government] just turned around and made everything harder.”
Inflation may not be rising as fast as it was two years ago, but the damage to Americans’ financial situation will be lasting.

  • Wealthy Democrat Mega-Donor Eliot Culter Gets Just 9 Months In Jail for Child Pornography

Eliot Cutler, a wealthy Democrat donor and former Carter administration official, has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges and with a suspended sentence will serve just 9 months in jail.
Cutler was arrested in March of 2022 and charged with four counts of possession of unlawful sexually explicit material of a minor under 12.
The arrest warrant stated authorities found “literally thousands of videos of very young children being sexually abused.”
Cutler pled guilty to all four counts during a hearing on Thursday.
“My behavior helped to support an industry built upon their abuse, and I hope with all my heart that they can find healing and dignity,” Cutler said in court.
He admitted to being “embarrassed, ashamed, and deeply, deeply sorry.”

Under the Carter administration, he served as part of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget and was the top White House official for energy matters from 1977 to 1980, according to Mainebiz News.
Cutler also ran as an Independent candidate for governor of Maine in 2010 and 2014. He narrowly lost the 2010 election to Republican Paul LePage in a multi-candidate race.

    A Ridiculously Lenient Sentence
Remarkably, considering the seriousness of the crimes, Eliot Cutler will only serve nine months in prison.
He won’t have to report to jail until June 1st.
WMTW News 8 Portland reports that the nine months represents the only portion not suspended from a four year sentence.
Additionally, they note, it does not account for any time that could be subtracted for good behavior.

Another donor to Democrat causes, Ed Buck, was found guilty last July of injecting men with methamphetamine in exchange for sex, causing two deaths.

On Thursday, Bret Baier of Fox News offered a news brief (and only a brief) on wealthy gay Democrat donor Ed Buck being sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing two male prostitutes with overdoses of methamphetamine.

Buck had given over $500,000 to Democrat politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, since 2000.
He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Eliot Cutler’s plea deal forbids him from possessing sexually explicit materials, grants him limited ability to be around children, and his online activities will be monitored.
He would also have to register as a sex offender for life.
