The Los Angeles District Attorney has launched an investigation into Eric Swalwell over allegations of sexual assault.
The LA DA, Nathan Hochman, confirmed the investigation to The Hill after a fifth Swalwell accuser came forward with shocking allegations during a press conference in Beverly Hills on Tuesday morning.
The Hill reported:
Former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) is under investigation in Los Angeles over allegations of sexual misconduct, the county’s district attorney confirmed to The Hill.
Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement that his office has assigned its Sex Crimes Division to work closely with law enforcement partners “as this investigation unfolds.”
“When and if a case is presented, seasoned prosecutors will review the facts and evidence to determine whether there is sufficient evidence for charges to be filed,” he said. “When a filing decision is made, we will ensure the public is made aware.”
Hochman’s statement came in response to an inquiry from The Hill regarding a new allegation of sexual assault made against Swalwell.
Another Swalwell accuser came forward and spoke at press conference in Beverly Hills on Tuesday morning.
The 5th Swalwell accuser to come forward, Lonna Drews, is represented by attorney Lisa Bloom.
“I represent a brave Eric Swalwell accuser. Her disturbing story is forthcoming. We call upon him to resign from Congress and the governor’s race, and we will cooperate with authorities in their investigation,” Lisa Bloom (Gloria Allred’s daughter) said on Monday evening before the press conference.
Lisa Bloom also disclosed that three other women have contacted her in the last 24 hours with accusations against Eric Swalwell.
Lonna Drews recounted how Eric Swalwell drugged and raped her in 2018 and choked her to the point of unconsciousness in a West Hollywood hotel room.
“In 2018, while I was living and working as a model in Beverly Hills, and I also owned a fashion software company, I had contact with Eric Swalwell on three separate occasions,” the alleged sexual assault victim, Lonna Drews, said.
“I knew he was married at the time and that his wife was pregnant. He was my friend. On the third occasion, I believe he drugged my drink,” she said.
Lonna Drews said Swalwell drugged her drink and violently raped her.
“He raped me, and he choked me. And while he was choking me, I lost consciousness. And I thought I died. I did not consent to any sexual activity,” she said threw tears.
“I would never have engaged in a consensual sexual encounter with Eric Swalwell,” she said.
Swalwell is also under investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office after a former staffer came forward to CNN and said the California Democrat raped her in 2024.
The Swalwell staffer said she was sexually assaulted by Swalwell in 2019
The staffer also said Swalwell raped her years later in 2024 after she left his employment.
The unidentified former female staffer sat down with CNN and recounted some of the horrific details about the alleged rape that occurred in 2024.
“I went to the bathroom, and I don’t remember anything after that,” she said, adding that she “remembered the next day.”
“I can see flashes of that evening of him on top of me, me pushing him off, him grabbing me. It was a lot more aggressive. It was aggressive,” she said about the 2024 assault.

Alleged Abuser Katie Porter Hit with Brutal Community Notes After Championing Swalwell Accusers
California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter might want to avoid the social media platform X.
In fact, should cosmic justice prevail, Porter would join disgraced fellow Democrat Eric Swalwell in withdrawing from the governor’s race.
This past weekend, the former Democrat congresswoman wrote multiple posts in support of Swalwell’s many accusers, only to receive community notes citing her own allegedly disgusting conduct.
Multiple women have accused Swalwell of transgressions ranging from predatory behavior to sexual assault. Thus, after suspending his gubernatorial campaign on Sunday, Swalwell announced his resignation from Congress Monday.
Porter undoubtedly views Swalwell’s withdrawal from the governor’s race as a boon to her own campaign. After all, according to the latest aggregate of polls from RealClearPolling, Swalwell held a narrow lead over a crowded Democratic field of candidates, with Porter polling a close second. Of course, those poll results preceded Swalwell’s decision to exit the race amid scandal.
“The allegations against Congressman Swalwell are horrifying,” Porter wrote on Friday. “I’m thinking of the courageous women who have come forward to share their stories. We believe you and we stand with you.”
But X users can spot political posturing from a mile away. So they affixed the first of three community notes Porter received this weekend alone.
“Katie Porter is an alleged domestic abuser who poured scalding potatoes on her ex husband’s head. She’s also been seen on camera verbally berating staff for minor sleights and has been described as abusive herself,” the first community note read. The allegations against Congressman Swalwell are horrifying. I’m thinking of the courageous women who have come forward to share their stories. We believe you and we stand with you.
— Katie Porter (@katieporterca) April 10, 2026In October 2025, Porter’s prickly disposition came under scrutiny when a video of a testy interview with a local CBS reporter in California went viral.
That scrutiny included “resurfaced divorce documents” alleging Porter’s abusive behavior toward her former spouse, according to the New York Post. Matthew Hoffman, Porter’s ex-husband, accused her of dumping scalding-hot mashed potatoes on his head, among other things.
Likewise, Politico released a video showing an enraged Porter using profanity to berate an unnamed staffer.
Thus, X users were not about to allow the deranged Democrat to pose as anyone’s moral superior.
“Too often, men escape any consequence for sexual misconduct by stepping out of power. That is a first and necessary step towards justice because it limits the ability for further harm. I stand with these women as they seek justice,” Porter wrote as part of a second Friday post on X calling for Swalwell to end his gubernatorial campaign and resign from Congress.
“Katie Porter has escaped consequence of physically and verbally abusing both her husband (with a pot of scalding hot mashed potatoes) and staff,” a second and even more hilarious community note read.In light of the allegations of sexual assault, Eric Swalwell should resign from Congress and end his campaign for public office. But those decisions do not absolve him of taking responsibility for his misconduct, especially when he has attempted to silence and retaliate against…
— Katie Porter (@katieporterca) April 10, 2026Then, on Sunday, Porter shared an excerpt from the San Francisco Chronicle urging Democrats to rally around her.
“The longtime rap against the former congresswoman is that she didn’t play well in the sandbox with her fellow House members,” the Chronicle excerpt read in part.
According to the all-caps community note, however, “ALLEGATION AGAINST PORTER WEREN’T THAT SHE CLASHED W/ OTHER POLITICIANS – IT WAS THAT SHE WAS ABUSIVE TO HER EMPLOYEES.”“Democrats can pull victory from the jaws of defeat by coalescing around Porter.” pic.twitter.com/ARv2DN73Ex
— Katie Porter (@katieporterca) April 13, 2026In short, thanks to X users, the abuse allegations against Swalwell have ironically revived abuse allegations against Porter.
One can only pray that her own political career will follow his into the dustbin of history.

Europe vs. Russia in a War: Food, Energy, and Logistics Favor Russia
Russia has specialized railway troops. Europe is energy-dependent and unwilling to fight to preserve its oil imports. Photo courtesy of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
A companion analysis I conducted for The Gateway Pundit examined European versus Russian military capabilities without U.S. support, focusing on direct military hardware such as tanks, aircraft, carriers, submarines, and nuclear weapons.
It found that Russia holds decisive advantages in ground-force experience, armored production, submarine power, Arctic dominance, and tactical nuclear weapons. Europe’s theoretical hardware advantages are undermined by readiness failures, fragmented command, and a complete lack of peer-level conventional warfare experience.
Raw firepower is only part of the equation. Wars are won or lost on the ability to sustain operations over time. That means keeping weapons factories running, fuel flowing, soldiers fed, and supply lines open under fire. On every one of those dimensions, Russia’s position is stronger than Europe’s. In some cases, the gap is not even close.
European defense spending has risen sharply since 2022, but remains structurally insufficient for a peer conflict. At the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague, allies committed to investing 5 percent of GDP by 2035, with at least 3.5 percent on core defense. Commitments and current reality remain far apart, however. Sixteen European allies barely exceed the 2 percent threshold, spending between 2 and 2.1 percent of GDP in 2025, and only Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland are projected to reach 3.5 percent this year.
By contrast, Russia’s total defense spending reached RUB 6.3 percent of GDP and 32.5 percent of the federal budget.
Putin claimed in December 2025 that since February 2022, Russia increased tank production by 2.2 times, aircraft by 4.6 times, strike weapons and ammunition by 22 times, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers by 3.7 times, electronic warfare and communications equipment by 12.5 times, and rocket artillery by 9.6 times, with the defense sector now employing approximately 4.5 million people and accounting for 20 percent of all manufacturing jobs.
General Christopher Cavoli told the US Senate Armed Services Committee in April 2025 that Russia is replacing battlefield losses at an unprecedented rate due to industrial expansion and full transition to a war economy.
In addition to increased production, Russia has been receiving munitions from allies. As of March 2026, approximately 33,000 North Korean freight containers had delivered artillery shells, ballistic missiles, self-propelled guns, and multiple-launch rocket systems to Russia.
Europe’s defense industrial base remains fragmented, with procurement duplicated across dozens of national programs and ramp-up timelines that have repeatedly slipped. European nations remain heavily dependent on US systems for the most advanced capabilities, including stealth aircraft, strategic lift, satellite intelligence, and missile defense. Critical raw materials including rare earths, cobalt, lithium, and titanium are sourced substantially from adversarial or unstable states, with China controlling the processing of many of these inputs globally.
According to RAND analysis cited by NATO military planners, Europe would need 1,400 tanks, 2,000 infantry fighting vehicles, 700 artillery pieces, and one million 155mm artillery shells for just the first three months of a Russian breakthrough scenario in the Baltics, stocks Europe does not currently hold.
Russia is essentially fully energy self-sufficient and is a major exporter. Russia has the largest known natural gas reserves of any state on earth, the second-largest coal reserves, and the eighth-largest oil reserves, with the oil and gas sector accounting for up to 30 percent of federal budget revenues in 2024. Russia produced 10.5 million barrels per day of total liquid fuels in 2024, and Russian refiners produce roughly double the diesel needed for domestic demand.
In a wartime scenario, Russia can sustain its military and civilian economy from domestic energy production indefinitely, without dependence on any external supply route or maritime chokepoint.
Europe’s position is structurally the opposite. As of 2025, the EU is still buying 60 percent of its energy from abroad, including 90 percent of its gas and 97 percent of its oil. The post-2022 effort to reduce Russian energy dependency has not produced genuine self-sufficiency; it has produced a new dependency. Russian pipeline gas to the EU fell from 150 billion cubic meters in 2021 to 38 billion cubic meters in 2025, largely replaced by US LNG, which now accounts for 45 percent of the replacement supply.
Replacing Russian pipeline gas with American LNG has simply substituted one strategic vulnerability for another, while adding exposure to Atlantic shipping lane disruption. Europe is facing its third energy crisis in four years, Russian gas cutoffs in 2022, Red Sea chokepoint disruptions in 2023 and 2024, and now the Strait of Hormuz disruption triggered by the US-Iran conflict in 2026. Each crisis has exposed the same structural failure and produced the same promises of reform that have not materialized. European gas storage currently stands at around 30 percent, well below the required 90 percent fill target for November 2026.
Russia is not waiting passively for a future conflict to exploit these vulnerabilities. Russia is already conducting hybrid operations against European energy infrastructure, targeting electricity cables and gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. The Baltic states currently have just four interconnections to the broader European grid, three of which run through maritime zones regularly transited by Russian ships.
A wartime scenario involving sustained hybrid attacks on undersea cables and pipelines, combined with naval interdiction of LNG tanker routes, would place Europe’s energy system under simultaneous pressure from multiple directions it currently has no adequate answer to.
Russia is a net agricultural exporter and self-sufficient in all major food categories. It is the world’s largest wheat exporter and produces sufficient fuel, food, and raw materials to sustain its population and military indefinitely from domestic sources. Europe is broadly self-sufficient in many staple crops but depends on global supply chains for fertilizers, historically sourced predominantly from Russia and Belarus.
Sanctions have already disrupted those fertilizer supply chains, raising production costs across the continent. In a prolonged conventional conflict involving Russian naval interdiction of Atlantic supply lines, Europe would face simultaneous pressure on energy supply, food production, and military resupply, three compounding vulnerabilities with no quick fix.
The GIUK gap, the Baltic straits, and the Bosphorus are all chokepoints where Russian naval and submarine forces could interdict European commerce. Containing Russia’s Northern Fleet alone would require intensive, sustained deployment of maritime patrol aircraft, attack submarines, and destroyers under carrier-based air cover, a capability Europe cannot maintain at that scale without the United States.
European merchant fleet capacity and port infrastructure are adequate for peacetime trade volumes but have not been stress-tested against wartime interdiction, and Europe currently holds no strategic stockpiles calibrated for a major conventional war lasting more than weeks.
The results of this analysis show that Russia can fuel its military indefinitely from domestic energy. It can feed its population without imports. Its defense industry has been operating on a full war footing for three years and has demonstrated the capacity to replace losses at scale. As detailed in the analysis previously published at The Gateway Pundit, Europe lags far behind Russia across most military asset categories. This analysis shows that Europe is not only weaker militarily but also less capable of sustaining a prolonged war, while Russia has already proven it can endure for years.
Without the United States, Europe would stand very little chance against Russia. European leaders appear to be operating under one of two illusions. Either they believe Europe can defeat Russia, or they assume the United States will bail them out. The first is mathematically implausible, and the second becomes less likely following Europe’s refusal to side with the United States against the Iranian regime.

After the UK, Now France Moves to Stop Kanye West From Performing in the Country
Another market closing doors to Ye – Wiki Commons
France says ‘non’ to Ye.
Unpopular Euro-Globalists have all paid attention to this cheap way to curry favor with the woke crowd: attack controversial rap mogul Kanye West.
After ‘Ye’ was banned from the United Kingdom causing the Wireless festival to be canceled, now the embattled French government is following suit.
Today (14), it arose that French authorities are moving to stop Kanye West from performing at the Marseille Vélodrome.
This escalates the pressure on the author of ‘Ni**er Heil Hitler’ as more European markets seem to be closing for his shows.France’s interior minister is seeking to block US rapper Kanye West from performing in the southern city of Marseille in June due to his anti-Semitic remarks, a source close to the minister told AFP on Tuesday.
https://t.co/MwTRp2g1k4 pic.twitter.com/BXptXxhzOv
— AFP News Agency (@AFP) April 14, 2026Politico reported:
“Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez is “very determined” to stop the concert and is exploring “every possibility” to prevent it from going ahead, a ministry spokesperson told POLITICO on Tuesday.
French daily Le Monde reported that Nuñez has raised the issue with regional and local leaders, including Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur prefect Jacques Witkowski and Marseille Mayor Benoît Payan during a visit to the city last week.”
Back in March, the Mayor of Marseille was already beating the drums
“West has repeatedly drawn condemnation for antisemitic remarks. In 2023, he said he “loved the Nazis” before later apologizing, and in 2025 released a track titled ‘[Ni**er] Heil Hitler’. He has also courted controversy with the slogan ‘White Lives Matter’ and by associating with far-right figures.”Minister confirms Kanye West won’t be banned from Netherlands despite growing pressure https://t.co/xwLV6iiMQD pic.twitter.com/ju1FfCr1i4

Nancy Pelosi Denies That Democrats Had Any Advanced Knowledge of Eric Swalwell’s Behavior (VIDEO)
Screencap of Twitter/X video.
Today on CSPAN, former house speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked if she or other Democrats had any advanced knowledge of Eric Swalwell’s behavior or the things he has been accused of.
The host framed it as an accusation that Republicans are making, rather than pointing out that people all over the country are now admitting that Swalwell’s issues were an open secret for years.
Pelosi denied the whole thing, saying it is “absolutely not true.”
Here’s the clip:A flustered Nancy Pelosi denies that Democrats knew what Swalwell was doing and turned a blind eye:
Pelosi: “Absolutely not true.”
Interviewer: “You had no idea?”
Pelosi: “None whatsoever.”
Sure thing, Nance. pic.twitter.com/MmVHf3Wt3x
— Western Lensman (@WesternLensman) April 14, 2026Pelosi’s comments are in direct conflict with a new report from ABC 7 in California (emphasis is ours):
U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell has suspended his campaign for California governor following sexual assault allegations, announcing the decision Sunday as scrutiny intensified around the Democratic primary race.
In a statement, Swalwell said he would step aside to address the claims.
“To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made – but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.”
The suspension immediately reshaped a closely watched contest in which Swalwell had held a narrow lead among Democrats.
Criticism of Swalwell has circulated in Washington for years, according to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who spoke on ABC’s “This Week.”
“Every member in Congress knows not to let any young staffer around Swalwell or Matt Gaetz, it’s not a secret there,” McCarthy said.
Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown said the allegations were not unexpected, citing longstanding talk among Democratic leaders.
“No, I’m not surprised frankly because there have been rumors after rumors after rumors, his colleague in Washington pretty much said that. That’s what Adam Schiff said, that’s what Nancy Pelosi said,” Brown said.
Of course, Nancy Pelosi would never lie, would she?

NY Times Columnist Tom Friedman Admits That Even Though He Wants Iran to Fall, He Doesn’t Want a Political Win for Trump and Netanyahu (VIDEO)
Screencap of Twitter/X video.
Tom Friedman of the New York Times just admitted something that is true about countless people in media and Democrats. They do not want the effort in Iran to succeed because they simply don’t want it to be a win for Trump.
At least Friedman was honest enough to come right out and say it.
This is just another example of people on the left hating trump more than they love the country.
Friedman made the comments on CNN, naturally.
Transcript via Real Clear Politics:
FRIEDMAN: Yes, there’s been some leadership change. Obviously, certain people have been killed. But this is the Iranian regime. It goes right down to the mayoral level. All the institutions are the same.
Yes. I find myself, Michael, in a situation where I really want to see Iran defeated militarily because this regime is a terrible regime for its people in the region. And nothing would improve the region more than the replacement of this regime in Iran with one was focused on enabling its people to realize their full potential and integrating peacefully with other countries and stop occupying Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
So I’m all for that. The problem is I really don’t want to see Bibi Netanyahu or Donald Trump politically strengthened by this war because they are two awful human beings. They are both engaged in anti- democratic projects in their own countries. They’re both alleged crooks. They are terrible, terrible people doing terrible things to America’s standing in the world and Israel standing in the world.
And so I really find myself torn. I want to see Iran militarily defeated, but I do not want to see these two terrible people strengthened.
Here’s the video:Don’t want Iran to lose if it means Trump wins. @TomFriedman of @NYTimes really wants “to see Iran defeated militarily because this regime is a terrible regime for its people and the region,” but on CNN’s @Smerconish he fretted “the problem is I really don’t want to see Bibi… pic.twitter.com/rgPngGXkGc
— Brent Baker (@BrentHBaker) April 11, 2026This is the left in a nutshell today.
They are incapable of setting aside their pathological hatred of Trump, even in matters of national security. They rise and sleep seeing themselves in competition with Trump and seethe at any perceived win on Trump’s part.
Do they not realize that they lost already in November?

SHAMELESS: CNN’s Brian Stelter Credits Journalists With Ending Eric Swalwell’s Bid for California Governor (VIDEO)
Screencap of Twitter/X video.
Like many people in media, Brian Stelter has an inflated sense of the worth of mainstream journalists. We are used to this fact about him, but sometimes, even we are surprised by the lengths he will go to heap praise on his broken industry.
Today on the air, Stelter gave journalists the credit for ending Eric Swlawell’s bid for governor of California.
This is amazing when you consider the fact that people are coming out of the woodwork now, claiming that Swalwell’s behavior has been an open secret among Democrats and the media for years.
And by the way, don’t his victims who have come forward deserve more credit than the media?
The Blaze reported on this:
CNN’s chief media analyst is applauding the mainstream media for exposing sexual misconduct allegations against the top Democratic candidate for California governor, including an alleged rape, and now faces the wrath of online critics.
California Rep. Eric Swalwell had a tenuous lead above the other Democrats, but he has suspended his campaign in the wake of allegations of sexual assault from a former staffer and accusations from others about sexual misconduct. He has denied the claims.
On Monday, Brian Stelter of CNN said the report was a victory for journalism while ignoring that many had looked the other way for a decade about rumors of the allegations.
Stelter said it was a “testament to the power of investigative reporting” and credited CNN and the Chronicle for ending Swalwell’s gubernatorial hopes.
Watch the video of Stelter below:Eric Swalwell ending his bid for California governor is, among other things, a testament to the power of investigative reporting pic.twitter.com/4xzUg944dt
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) April 13, 2026People on Twitter/X slammed Stelter’s comments:
And all it took was seven terms in Congress and about a half-dozen victims for investigative journalists to break the news of behavior apparently everyone knew about.
— T. Becket Adams (@BecketAdams) April 13, 202610 years late. Imagine how many people might have been saved from Swalwell had the media done its job at the start, rather than covering for a fellow Democrat.
— Chuck DeVore (@ChuckDeVore) April 13, 2026I realize you’re tying to take a victory lap here but why couldn’t anyone investigate this story before last week? Apparently lots of people knew for years. Echoes of Joe Biden coverage all over again.
— John Sexton (@verumserum) April 13, 2026It’s amazing that Stelter would give the media credit for this. We all know the real reason why they wanted Swalwell out of the race.

Report: China Supplying Iran with Anti-Aircraft Weapons to Aid in Fight Against US
A new report revealed that American officials believe China is helping Iran in the war with the United States and Israel.
According to The New York Times, U.S. intelligence agencies believe China sent shoulder-fired missiles to Iran. The weapons can be used to down low-flying planes.
The report said the intelligence has some uncertainty, and it is also not clear if Chinese missiles were used in Iran’s recent attacks on U.S. or Israeli targets.
The report said American officials believe China, which heavily controls its private sector, is allowing chemicals, fuel, and parts for weapons to be sent to Iran.If this report about CCP supplied missiles through Pakistan to Iran is true, this is an act of war and China (and Pakistan) should be put on notice immediately and the CCP should NOT be allowed to send another 500K students to attend our U.S. colleges and universities, never… https://t.co/tPK8Kbwlpb
— General Mike Flynn (@GenFlynn) April 9, 2026The report noted that sending missiles to America’s foe “would be a significant escalation and an indication that at least some of China’s leaders are working actively to bring about an American military defeat in a war that has engulfed the Middle East.”
A CNN report indicated that China is planning to send the missiles to Iran, and will route them through a third-party nation to cover up the shipment’s origin.
“The intelligence also underscores how Iran may be using the ceasefire as an opportunity to replenish certain weapons systems with the help of key foreign partners,” CNN reported.
A representative of the Chinese embassy said, “China has never provided weapons to any party to the conflict; the information in question is untrue.”
“As a responsible major country, China consistently fulfills its international obligations. We urge the U.S. side to refrain from making baseless allegations, maliciously drawing connections, and engaging in sensationalism; we hope that relevant parties will do more to help de-escalate tensions,” the representative said.U.S. intelligence sources say China is preparing to send air defense systems—MANPADS—to Iran. Some believe a MANPAD shot down our F-15E on the 3rd of this month. President Trump should impose his 50% additional tariff on Chinese goods now.
— Gordon G. Chang (@GordonGChang) April 11, 2026China is not alone. Russia has sent the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps satellite information to help it attack American ships and installations. Russia, however, has not sent Iran any weapons, The New York Times said.
Although China is publicly neutral, it has been sending dual-use parts to Iran that are destined for weapons. By virtue of sending goods with civilian applications, China can claim it is not fueling Iran’s war effort.
The New York Times report noted that although China needs the Strait of Hormuz open in order to get the oil it needs, the war offers the chance to weaken the U.S.
China is heavily dependent on oil that passes through the Strait of Hormuz, and it is keen not to do anything that extends the war, according to American officials. At the same time, at least some Chinese officials are interested in supporting Tehran in a war that is seen as weakening American standing and strength.
China is Iran’s largest oil buyer and its largest economic partner.
The reports about China’s activities come as President Donald Trump prepares for a trip to China next month to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
