The FBI filed two search warrants in its investigation into the ‘suspicious’ death of a woman aboard a Carnival cruise ship.
The woman, who has not been identified, was found unresponsive under suspicious circumstances on February 27 on a trip from Charleston, South Carolina to Nassau.
“Both the deceased and her husband were debarked in Nassau and Bahamian authorities have already investigated the circumstances and are conducting an autopsy,” the cruise line said in a statement to CBS News.
Medical staff and crew members attempted life saving measures, according to the FBI’s Columbia field office.
Carnival is “fully cooperating” with the FBI and investigators in the Bahamas.
“Two search warrants were filed on Wednesday, one to search the room where a woman was found unresponsive on the Carnival Cruise Sunshine and the other to search of a Volkswagen Jetta with North Carolina plates, also on the basis of evidence of a crime.” WCSC reported.
Carnival Cruise said it appears the woman died of natural causes in a statement:
“While we continue to cooperate with authorities, all indications pertaining to the death of a guest on board Carnival Sunshine suggest that it was a natural death due to a medical condition. We will defer to the FBI on any specific details which may possibly be released at a later date as we fully respect the investigative process, but our initial emergency medical response was appropriate and it appears that this was indeed a medical situation that sadly resulted in the death of a guest.”
The cruise line did not provide any evidence to back up their claims.

The House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government held a hearing Thursday on Capitol Hill.
As TGP’s Jim Hoft reported, the hearing focused on the weaponization of the government as identified in the Twitter Files releases.
Here were the witnesses:
Matt Taibbi, Journalist
Michael Shellenberger, Author, Co-founder of the Breakthrough Institute and the California Peace Coalition
Talibbi and Shellenberger testified regarding how the corrupt FBI colluded with Twitter to censor conservatives and the truth.
There was a clash between Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the Chairman of the Subcommittee, and far-left Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands).
During her opening statement, Plaskett suffered an epic meltdown. She launched an immediate attack on Jordan, claiming he had called “two witnesses who pose a direct threat to people who oppose them.”
She continued:
This is unacceptable. But just as it was unacceptable for Kevin McCarthy to provide 41,000 hours of coverage to a biased talking head in an effort to rewrite what happened on January 6.
This is a new Republican playbook, apparently. Risk American safety and security to score political points.

Jordan finally interjected and laid out the brutal facts: both Taibbi and Shellenberger are Democrats who were simply there to bravely tell the truth and have been targeted by the Biden FTC.
He further elaborated Democrat politicians are lashing out because they are scared of the truth.
The idea that two journalists who happen to be Democrats … I don’t think they’re here to help us politically, I think they’re here to tell us the truth. And oh, by the way, the first FTC letter to Twitter after the first set of Twitter Files, the very first question was ‘who are the journalists you’re talking to?’ And you guys don’t care. You don’t care.
You don’t want people to see what happened, The full video, transparency. You don’t want that, and you don’t want two journalists who have been named personally by the Biden administration, the FTC in a letter. They say they’re here to help and tell their story, and frankly, I think they’re brave individuals for being willing to come after being named in a letter from the Biden FTC.
When Plaskett then asked if it was Jordan’s “question time,” he completely burned her:
No, I’m responding to your ridiculous statements you made in your opening statement!

Former January 6 Chairman Bennie Thompson claimed he never had access to January 6 footage after Fox News host Tucker Carlson released never-before-seen footage.
Bennie Thompson told CNN that he is not aware of any January 6 Committee members having access to the J6 footage.
“I’m actually not aware of any member of the committee who had access. We had a team of employees who kind of went through the video,” Bennie Thompson told CNN.
Via CNN: “Bennie Thompson, former chair of the Jan. 6 committee, said lawmakers were never given that type of access to the footage last Congress. “It’s strictly a new policy that the new speaker has put in place,” he told CNN.”
CNN reporter Alayna Treene continued, “Thompson said he doesn’t think any of the Jan. 6 members themselves ever had access to the footage — they let only staff view it. “I’m actually not aware of any member of the committee who had access. The Democrats are livid that Elon Musk allowed journalists to come into Twitter after he purchased the company and release damning information that the government, corrupt politicians like Adam Schiff, corrupt NGOs, Big Media and Big Tech colluded to censor, shadow-ban, and purge conservative messages surrounding the truth in topics like COVID, the Russia collusion sham, the 2020 Election steal and Jan 6.

Today, in front of the House Judiciary subcommittee, the Democrats went off on the witnesses before the committee.
House Democrats referred to Matt Taibbi and Michael Shallenberger as ‘so called journalists’ and Elon Musk’s personal ‘scribes’.

If there was any doubt that the Twitter Files have struck a nerve and deep fear in the Powers That Be, Thursday’s disgraceful behavior by Democrats in a hearing featuring journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger eviscerated it.
Taibbi and Shellenberger had not even uttered a word yet when the Ranking Member of the House Judiciary subcommittee Del. Stacey Plaskett, D-U.S. Virgin Islands, referred to the witnesses as “so-called journalists” in her opening statement. The pair glanced at each other, clearly surprised and confused by the utterly unprovoked attack.
From there it only got worse, Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-TX, asked the pair of scribes if they were being paid to testify, again to an absolutely shocked response from them. She went on to try to force Taibbi to reveal information about his sources, a journalistic Rubicon he rightfully refused to cross.
Other Democrats accused them of wearing tin foil hats, and intimated in ugly language with clear disdain that they were only in it for the money, not to discover the truth about our federal government pressuring Twitter to censor Americans’ speech which was the reason for the hearing.

As previously reported, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office revived its criminal investigation into Trump’s ‘hush payments’ to porn star Stephanie Clifford, AKA, Stormy Daniels.
Trump has been accused of paying Daniels ‘hush payments’ in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer.
Trump has denied the affair.
House Democrats previously launched the inquiry into the hush payments ahead of the 2020 election cycle as a way to bog down Trump and slow down his 2020 re-election campaign.
Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s predecessor previously rejected the Trump ‘hush payments’ case because it wouldn’t stand up in court.
Fast-forward a couple years and now the Manhattan DA has revived the Stormy Daniel hush payments probe to counter Trump’s 2024 White House bid.
According to the New York Times, the Manhattan DA began presenting evidence to a grand jury last earlier this year.
The former publisher of the National Enquirer was seen walking into the building in lower Manhattan where the grand jury was meeting last month.
Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen met with Manhattan prosecutors investigating the Stormy Daniels case in February.
Cohen previously claimed he was directly involved in helping Trump pay Stormy Daniels a $130,000 ‘hush payment.’
Now this….
Manhattan prosecutors on Thursday signaled criminal charges for Trump are likely in the Stormy case, according to the New York Times.
Trump was told he can appear before the grand jury next week if he wants to testify, the New York Time reported, citing four sources.

Capitol Hill Police later released a letter exonerating Rep. Barry Loudermilk from accusations that he led a tour of the Capitol the day before a mob of then-President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the building.
Barry Loudermilk received death threats because of Bennie Thompson’s lies.

Despite the letter exonerating Rep. Loudermilk, the January 6 Committee released selectively edited video footage of GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk leading constituents on a tour around the Capitol complex on Jan. 5th.
The sham Jan. 6 Committee did this knowing it was a lie and that Loudermilk had been exonerated.
Loudermilk is now spearheading an investigation into the January 6 Committee.

A Republican-controlled House committee launched an inquiry Wednesday into the Democratic-controlled Jan. 6 committee, which a staff member said will review whether pertinent information about the riot was omitted from the high-profile examination of the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Many House Republicans were vocal critics since the creation of the Jan. 6 committee, and the inquiry seems to make good on lawmaker campaign trail vows to investigate the investigators.
The House Administration’s subcommittee on oversight will be combing through the massive amount of records collected by the Jan. 6 committee, which was dissolved in January, said the staffer, with the goal of analyzing how the panel conducted the investigation.
The House Administration Committee has launched a portal to collect tips from the public. News about the subcommittee’s plans was first reported by CNN.
The subcommittee — made up of four Republicans and two Democrats — will be looking into roughly two million documents and records, the source said, which the House Administration Committee obtained from the House Rules Committee after the Jan. 6 panel was dissolved.

The House passed a bill on Thursday to prohibit federal officials from pressuring social media platforms to censor content.
The Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act states that it is intended to “prohibit Federal employees from advocating for censorship of viewpoints in their official capacity, and for other purposes.”
The bill passed by a vote of 219-206.
“It is the policy of the Congress that employees acting in their official capacity should neither take action within their authority or influence to promote the censorship of any speech, nor advocate that a third party, including a private entity, censor such speech,” the text of the bill reads.
The bill’s lead sponsor was Rep. James Comer, who said in a statement that “the Biden Administration has eroded Americans’ First Amendment rights by bullying social media companies to censor certain views and news on their platforms. The Oversight Committee is taking action to protect Americans’ constitutional right to free speech from government censorship.”
“It is inappropriate and dangerous for the federal government to decide what lawful speech is allowed on a private sector platform,” Comer said during a hearing on the matter on Wednesday.
“My bill, the Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act, makes this type of behavior an unlawful activity for federal officials to engage in — subjecting those who attempt to censor the lawful speech of Americans to disciplinary actions and monetary penalties,” he continued. “The federal government should not be able to decide what lawful speech is allowed — we have the First Amendment for a very good reason.”
Democrat Rep. Daniel Goldman argued that the bill was unnecessary.
“This bill purports to protect free speech from government censorship. And I agree, it’s a great idea. It’s such a good idea, in fact, that the Founding Fathers put it in the Constitution,” Goldman said on the House floor. “It’s called the First Amendment.”
“We don’t need a new bill to protect free speech because that is currently the law of the land. So we must ask ourselves: what is the point of this bill?” he continued.
Chad Wolf, Executive Director of America First Policy Institute, endorsed the bill.
“Our First Amendment rights are at stake,” Wolf said in a statement. “Time and time again, we’ve seen the current Administration betray the trust of the American people by pressuring, encouraging, and colluding with Big Tech giants to censor ideology they disagree with. This simply cannot go unchallenged, and we applaud Chairman Comer and the House Oversight Committee for proactively fighting this blatant violation of our most cherished and fundamental right.”

Inflation skyrocketed shortly after Joe Biden was sworn into office because of his tax-and-spend policies.

The Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation measure revealed prices rose 0.6% in January, higher than expected.
The monthly and yearly numbers came in higher than expectations. Much of the increase came in food and energy prices.
In fact, inflation is so out of control that Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell this week said interest rates will ‘likely to be higher’ than previously anticipated.

Kaepernick shows his adoptive parents as much respect as he shows his country.

Kaepernick talked about coming to terms with his racial identity while growing up in a White family in his new graphic novel, “Change the Game.” The former football player recalled disagreements with his parents that he attributed to racism, calling his upbringing “problematic.”
“I know my parents loved me. But there were still very problematic things that I went through,” the biracial quarterback said to CBS News.
“I think it was important to show that, no, this can happen in your own home, and how we move forward collectively while addressing the racism that is being perpetuated,” he added.
Kaepernick illustrated one specific example of this in the novel, depicting a fight he had with his parents during high school over his hairstyle.
Inspired to braid his hair in cornrows like his hero, NBA star Allen Iverson, Kaepernick recalled received pushback from is parents.
“He’s getting what rolls?” his mom says in the graphic novel.
Kaepernick said that after styling his hair this way, his mom warned his hair was “not professional” and he “looked like a little thug.”
