  • Author and Philosopher Ayn Rand Warned America About Zohran Mamdani’s ‘Collectivism’ More Than 60 Years Ago (VIDEO)

Ayn Rand being interviewed in 1959 – Screencap of YouTube video.
Ayn Rand was a controversial figure, but as someone who escaped the former Soviet Union, she knew a thing or two about the dangers of communism.
She was disliked by people on the left and the right because while she vehemently opposed communism, she was also a vocal atheist who disliked expressions of faith.
Most of all, Rand absolutely despised collectivism. She was a fierce defender of individual rights.
After Zohran Mamdani’s inaugural speech, in which he embraced collectivism, it is time to revisit Ayn Rand’s warnings on the topic.
This is from a 1959 interview she did with Mike Wallace, who was snide and condescending to her throughout the segment. Still, Rand held her own and made her points very well.
    Transcript via PressBooks:
Mike Wallace: Let’s move ahead. How does your philosophy translate itself into the world of politics? Now one of the principle achievements of this country in the past 20 years, particularly, I think most people agree, is the gradual growth of social and protective legislation based on the principle that we are our brother’s keepers. How do you feel about the political trends of the United States, the Western world?
Ayn Rand: The way everybody feels, except more consciously. I feel that it is terrible, that you see destruction all around you, and that you are moving toward disaster until, and unless, all those welfare state conceptions have been reversed and rejected. It is precisely these trends which are bringing the world to disaster, because we are now moving towards complete collectivism, or socialism. A system under which everybody is enslaved to everybody, and we are moving that way only because of our altruist morality.
    Watch the clip below:

    “Moving toward disaster.”
Long before Zohran Mamdani landed on the shores of the United States preaching “the warmth of collectivism,” one person saw all of this coming: Ayn Rand.
In a 1959 interview with Mike Wallace, Rand issued a warning that feels eerily prophetic… https://t.co/InfeH9DiJB pic.twitter.com/ybIY52rFMv

In this longer clip, you can get more context of what Rand was talking about:

You do not need to agree with Ayn Rand on everything to appreciate the points she was making here. She knew that communism leads to destruction and she had a very healthy distrust of big government.
Mamdani is the exact opposite. He is going to try to embrace collectivism, even though it has failed throughout history.

Israel Accuses Mamdani of Throwing ‘Antisemitic Gasoline on an Open Fire’ with Day 1 Executive Orders

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has come under attack for nullifying pro-Israel executive orders signed by former Mayor Eric Adams.
As noted by the Daily News, one overturned order adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism.
Another Adams order sent to the trash heap sought to oppose the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement by banning any city contracting actions “that discriminates against the state of Israel, Israeli citizens based on their national origin, or individuals or entities based on their association with Israel.”
Israel’s Foreign Ministry reacted to the definition change with anger.
“On his very first day as @NYCMayor, Mamdani shows his true face: He scraps the IHRA definition of antisemitism and lifts restrictions on boycotting Israel,” it posted on X.

“This isn’t leadership. It’s antisemitic gasoline on an open fire,” the post said.
The Times of Israel noted that “The IHRA definition could have posed a problem for Mamdani because the definition says that denying the Jewish people the right to self-determination is discriminatory. Mamdani has repeatedly refused to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.”
The report noted that the definition said it was anti-Semitic to claim “that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.”
Mamdani was also criticized for deleting posts from the official mayoral X account that spoke of fighting anti-Semitism, according to the New York Post. The deletions came before the Muslim mayor took office.
“It is difficult to overstate how disturbing it is that one of your very first acts as Mayor of New York City, on your very first day in office, was to delete official @NYCMayor tweets addressing the protection of Jewish New Yorkers,” the National Jewish Advocacy Center wrote to Mamdani.

“At a moment of unprecedented antisemitic intimidation, violence, and exclusion in the City the decision to erase official statements affirming the safety and protection of Jews is not merely tone-deaf, it is shameful,” the letter said.
“It sends a message, whether intended or not, that Jewish New Yorkers are uniquely underserving of continuity, clarity, or reassurance from their own government,” the letter added.

As noted by Politico, Mamdani has insisted he is not anti-Semitic, and has claimed his criticism of Israel is based on his support of human rights.
Mamdani told the Daily News that the orders he revoked were “against the interests of working-class people and what they need from their mayor.”

“New Year. Same Mission” – US Southern Command Releases EPIC Video Compilation of US Marines Caribbean Operations, Teases Continued 2026 Strikes Against Drug Boats and Venezuela (VIDEO)

The US Southern Command, the Combatant Command responsible for Latin America and its adjacent waters, released a video on Friday promoting Operation Southern Spear and highlighting the US Marines’ presence in the Caribbean.
Since September, US forces in the Southern Command area of responsibility have conducted a series of military operations, including blowing up drug smuggling vessels, seizing Venezuelan oil tankers, and at least one land strike against a drug trafficking facility in Venezuela.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump confirmed that US forces conducted a land strike against a drug trafficking facility in Venezuela earlier this week.
“There was a major explosion in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago.
In what appears to be a warning to drug traffickers and a teaser for continued operations in 2026, the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, deployed in support of Operation Southern Spear, is seen training in preparation to further assist in these operations.
War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Operation Southern Spear, led by Joint Task Force Southern Spear and US Southern Command, to protect the Western Hemisphere from narcoterrorists in November.

GOING VIRAL: Parachutist Hits Field Goal Net Before Falling into Crowd at Armed Forces Bowl (VIDEO)

During pregame festivities at the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl game in Fort Worth, Texas, where Texas State faced Rice on Friday, one parachutist crashed-landed into the stands after getting tangled in the field goal netting.
The pregame featured fighter jets and parachutists floating into the stadium.
Shocking footage from the stadium, which shows the parachutist coming down before snagging the net and eventually falling to the ground, is currently going viral.

    The parachutist is reportedly okay.
    Per WFAA:

Bowl season was in full swing in Fort Worth on Friday, as Texas State took on in-state foe Rice.
There were plenty of pre-game festivities, including a fighter jet flyover and parachutists dropping into the stadium.

One of those parachutists, however, had a harder landing than he probably would have liked. Video shared by San Antonio Express-News beat reporter Keff Ciardello showed one of the five parachutists falling to the ground. Bowl officials told WFAA the parachutist walked off on his own power.
This is the 23rd annual Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, which is held at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth.

  • Maine Democrat Gov. Janet Mills’ Administration Gave No-Bid State Contracts to Somali NGO That Allegedly “Registered Migrants to Vote” — Organization Later Caught in Medicaid Fraud Scandal

The walls are closing in on Maine’s migrant-industrial complex — and the trail leads straight back to Democrat Governor Janet Mills and her administration.
According to reporting from The Maine Wire, dozens of federal agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) swarmed multiple locations in Lewiston this week tied to Somali-run nonprofits, Medicaid billing operations, and political operatives with deep connections to Maine Democrats.
HSI confirmed it is “actively conducting audits of businesses in Maine to protect America from fraud & ensure businesses only employ legal workers,” adding that hiring unauthorized workers “undermines national security.”

    — HSI New England (@HSINewEngland) December 30, 2025

Among the locations targeted: the Lewiston office of Gateway Community Services (CGS), a taxpayer-funded migrant services hub that received tens of millions of dollars in MaineCare (Medicaid) payments, and multiple no-bid contracts from the Mills administration, according to documents obtained by The Maine Wire.
Gateway Community Services, founded by Somali refugee Abdullahi Ali, received approximately $28.8 million in MaineCare funds between 2019 and 2024.
Founded in 2016 by Abdullahi Ali, a Somali refugee who resettled in Maine around 2009, GCS operates through a for-profit LLC and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm, Gateway Community Services Maine.
The organization’s mission focuses on providing essential services to immigrant, refugee, and asylee populations, including case management, behavioral health support, counseling, youth leadership programs, and community hubs in Portland and Lewiston.
The allegations regarding voter registration stem from investigative reporting, primarily by The Maine Wire, a conservative news outlet edited by Steve Robinson.
According to these reports, GCS received multiple no-bid contracts from the administration of Democratic Governor Janet Mills, funded largely by federal COVID-19 relief funds.
These contracts, totaling millions of dollars, supported “community health outreach workers” (CHOWs) who enrolled migrants in public benefits such as EBT, general assistance, and MaineCare (Maine’s Medicaid program).
Under the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993, agencies providing such benefits are required to offer voter registration assistance, which critics claim GCS leveraged to register migrants and mobilize them for Democrat candidates in the 2022 election.
Specifically, whistleblowers and reports allege that GCS’s Lewiston office served as a “nexus” for the Community Organizing Alliance (COA), a group with ties to left-leaning organizations like the Maine People’s Alliance.
After federal investigations intensified, COA quietly removed its board list from public view, although archived copies remain.
This alliance purportedly conducted voter registration drives targeting “New Mainers” (a term for recent immigrants) and encouraged turnout on Election Day, contributing to Mills’ victory over former Governor Paul LePage.
For instance, in Lewiston—a city with a significant Somali population—Mills reportedly won for the first time in LePage’s career, attributed by some to increased migrant voter participation.
These activities are framed as part of a broader “payoff” system, where taxpayer funds for migrant services indirectly supported political activism benefiting Democrats.
Gateway’s leadership and political orbit includes Democrat lawmakers Deqa Dhalac and Yusuf Yusuf, both former Gateway officials, as well as Ekhlas Ahmed, a former Gateway employee later elevated into Gov. Mills’ newly created Office of New Americans, according to The Maine Wire.
GCS has not explicitly confirmed or denied involvement in voter registration on its official websites.

    — Wall Street Apes (@WallStreetApes) December 6, 2025

In late 2024 and early 2025, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) suspended payments to GCS and issued notices of violation.
    More from the Maine Wire:
“In May, the former Gateway billing specialist, Christopher Bernardini, came forward to the Maine Wire to allege that the government-funded migrant services agency systematically defrauded the MaineCare program for at least five years. According to Bernardini, Gateway supervisors would regularly use back-end access to the Electronic Visit Verification program to create fake service hours, which were them submitted to the state for payment.
Those allegations tracked perfectly with public records obtained by the Maine Wire, which showed that the company has been under audit by the Department of Health and Human Services for most of its existence and has been found to have significantly over-billed MaineCare in each audit. Details from the “Notices of Violation” received by Gateway showed that the company often couldn’t produce documentary support for significant services the company claimed to have provided.
The first audit, covering the period from November 1, 2015, to October 14, 2016, caused Gateway to repay a significantly reduced penalty of $125,058. The second audit, spanning January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2018, was lowered from $776,022 to $537,550 after an administrative review, but the case remains in appeal with the Division of Administrative Hearings at the DHHS.
Last week, amid national bipartisan scrutiny of Medicaid fraud operations led primarily by individuals of Somali descent, the Mills Administration finally relented and shut off the cash flow to Gateway. Although the company’s Medicaid income has been suspended, the administration has not commented on whether they will continue to receive payments under the no-bid contracts they’ve received from the Mills Administration or the $400,000 grant they were awarded by Attorney General Aaron Frey (D).
To date, both Mills and Frey have obstructed Justice Department inquiries and activities.”
Appearing on Fox News, The Maine Wire Editor-in-Chief Steve Robinson summed it up bluntly:

Steve Robinson: “Nonprofits and Medicaid agencies. The particular agency in question is called Gateway Community Services. It’s a for-profit company that maintains a 501(c)(3) filing in order to accept grant money when a c)(3) designation is required. The organization has an office on Canal Street in Lewiston.
I was actually on site there investigating and recording monologues in front of the building when about 15 HSI agents rolled up with what appeared to be a search warrant. It looked like they were there to seize computers and filing cabinets.
What’s interesting about that building is that it’s a nexus for a host of migrant-run NGOs. The main Immigrant Rights Coalition is based there, along with a number of home health care agencies that also bill Medicaid — or, as we call it in Maine, MaineCare. This building serves as a catch-all space for numerous migrant organizations.
Another thing I would say about this particular location and Gateway Community Services is that it’s not just a Somali Medicaid fraud — it’s a Somali Democrat Medicaid fraud. This is an organization with elaborate and extensive ties to the Maine Democratic Party, including Governor Janet Mills and her administration.
There are two Democratic lawmakers — Representative Yusuf Yusuf and Representative Deqa Dhalac — both sitting state lawmakers and members of the Democratic Party.
When Janet Mills was forming the Office of New Americans as a migrant resettlement agency for the state of Maine, she selected a woman named Eklis Ahmed, who is a former employee of Gateway Community Services.
Furthermore, Gateway received numerous no-bid contracts from the Mills administration for the purpose of conducting community health outreach work, which included registering migrants to vote in the 2022 election.
So this is not just any organization that was allegedly fraudulently billing Medicaid. This is one that was very tightly connected to the Maine Democratic Party and remains tied to the Democratic Party. I think those ties are going to matter.”

    WATCH:

  • BREAKING: Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Strikes Down California’s Ban on Open Carry – Trump Judge Issues Scathing Opinion

A US Appeals Court on Friday in a 2-1 decision struck down a California law banning people from openly carrying firearms.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals cited a 2022 Supreme Court ruling and said California’s ban on open carry is unconstitutional.
US Circuit Judge Lawrence VanDyke, a Trump appointee, wrote the majority opinion and blasted the state of California for banning open carry for 95% of its population.
California banned open carry on all counties with populations greater than 200,000 – which is 95% of the state.
In 2019, Mark Baid filed a lawsuit against the California Attorney General challenging the state’s ban on open carry.
Judge VanDyke, a known gun enthusiast, said California’ ban on open carry is unconstitutional.
“For most of American history, open carry has been the default manner of lawful carry for firearms. It remains the norm across the country—more than thirty states generally allow open carry to this day, including states with significant urban populations,” VanDyke wrote.
VanDyke said many states allow open carry and California has a history of open carry.
“Similarly, for the first 162 years of its history open carry was a largely unremarkable part of daily life in California. From 1850, when California first became a state, until the Mulford Act of 1967, public carry of firearms in California (open or concealed) was entirely unregulated. And when California first deviated (or considered deviating) from this practice, its reasons for doing so were less than morally exemplary,” VanDyke wrote.
“In our Nation’s history and tradition, open carry was widely recognized as being central to the Second Amendment right,” VanDyke added. “A ban on that which is at the core of the Second Amendment is not a ‘minimal burden’ on the Second Amendment right.”
Last year, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld California’s ban on large-capacity magazines.
The en banc panel of the Ninth Circuit Court (a decision from the court’s entire slate of judges) sided with California’s radical Marxist Attorney General Rob Bonta.
Judge Lawrence VanDyke, who grew up in Bozeman, Montana, angered a lefty judge on the court after he released a highly unusual video dissent demonstrating him handling several different firearms.
