California Democrat Has Incredibly Stupid Take on How Venezuela Operation Will Affect American Energy (VIDEO)

    Screencap of Twitter/X video.
Congressman Jimmy Panetta, a Democrat from California, recently offered an amazingly stupid take on how Trump’s operation to take Maduro out of Venezuela will affect Americans and American energy.
To hear Panetta tell it, this situation might further lower energy prices and that could cause instability.
If that makes sense to you, you might be a progressive.
In the clip below, Panetta says:
“We don’t know if the world’s saturated oil market will accept any more oil. This has left great instability not just in Venezuela, but in the region. And that leads to insecurity for the United States of America.”
    Watch the video below:

According to KCBX News, Panetta was also confused by the official briefing on the subject:
Central Coast congressmen say Venezuela briefing left them with more questions
The members of Congress representing California’s Central Coast were briefed on President Trump’s military actions in Venezuela on Wednesday.
Democratic congressman Jimmy Panetta represents parts of San Luis Obispo County, including Atascadero and Paso Robles. He said he left the briefing with more questions about the legal authority for the strike.
“This is the type of large scale operation that I would like to have seen Congress be notified about at a minimum,” Panetta told KCBX.
At a press conference Saturday, Trump said that Congress could have leaked the plans for the attack and arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro if they had been notified.
Today on The Five of FOX News, Greg Gutfeld roasted Panetta over this, saying only a Democrat would come out against cheap gas.

“Only a Democrat would come out against cheap gas…”

A Secret Service recruit who was supposed to begin training at the agency this month killed his 16-year-old brother on New Year’s Eve.
Broward County, Florida, Sheriffs and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to a home where a teen was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Another woman also suffered a graze wound.
The victim, identified as 16-year-old Orlando Wedderburn, was airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center and later pronounced dead, CBS reported.
After being detained for questioning, the shooter, later identified as a Secret Service recruit, was released after he claimed the fatal shooting was in self-defense.
No charges have been filed yet. It is unclear if the Broward County State Attorney’s Office intends to file charges.
Local media also reported on the fatal shooting last week.

According to Real Clear Politics, the Secret Service has opened an investigation into the shooting.
“The United States Secret Service is aware of an open investigation by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office that involves a recently hired special agent trainee, who was awaiting entry into an upcoming training academy,” the Secret Service said in a statement to Real Clear Politics.
“This is an extremely tragic situation, and we are fully cooperating with the Broward Sheriff’s Office as they lead this investigation.”
“Once completed, the results of the independent review will be presented to the Florida State Attorney’s Office,” the agency continued.
“Any additional questions related to the investigation itself should be directed to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The employee under investigation has been placed on administrative leave as the process moves forward,” they said.

  • Chicago Police Superintendent Reminds the Public ICE Is Law Enforcement and Has Authority Over Citizens

Chicago Police Superintendent Reminds the Public ICE Is Law Enforcement and Has Authority Over Citizens

Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling warns the public that ICE agents are federal law-enforcement officers authorized to make arrests and defend themselves if attacked. Photo courtesy of the Chicago Police Department.

Instagram and other social media posts have spread false claims that ICE agents are not law enforcement, have no authority over citizens, and that citizens or even illegal aliens should resist them. These posts also falsely claim that people are not required to comply with ICE orders, that ICE lacks arrest power without a warrant, or that ICE cannot arrest a citizen. All of this is untrue. These misconceptions are fueling resistance to ICE, including escalating violence and chaos.
Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said during a press conference the day after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in self-defense that ICE personnel are sworn law enforcement officers and must be treated as such.
Snelling said that when federal agents are boxed in by vehicles, it is reasonable for them to believe they are being ambushed and that the situation could quickly become deadly. “If you box them in with vehicles, it is reasonable for them to believe that they are being ambushed,” he said, adding that officers are justified in using force in self-defense under those conditions.
He warned the public not to interfere with law enforcement operations, stressing that boxing in any officer is illegal and dangerous. “You are breaking the law when you do that, and you are putting yourself in danger,” Snelling said. He added that officers are justified in viewing individuals who persistently follow them as potential threats.
Addressing the use of vehicles as weapons, Snelling was explicit. He said that intentionally ramming a vehicle carrying law enforcement officers constitutes deadly force, regardless of whether the officers are local, state, federal, or county. “Deadly force is anything that can cause great bodily harm or death. When you plow into a vehicle that contains law enforcement agents, you’re using deadly force.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a federal law-enforcement agency within the Department of Homeland Security. ICE agents are sworn federal officers with badges, credentials, and arrest authority granted by Congress under Title 8 and Title 18 of the U.S. Code. ICE is not a civilian regulatory body. Its agents carry firearms, execute warrants, make arrests, conduct criminal investigations, and work jointly with the FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals, and state and local police.
ICE agents receive standardized federal law-enforcement training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, the same system used by most federal agencies. Their training includes constitutional law, use of force and de-escalation, arrest procedures, firearms qualification, defensive tactics, search and seizure, and civil rights protections. They are not contractors, volunteers, or freelancers. They are career federal officers.
While U.S. citizens cannot commit immigration violations, that does not mean ICE lacks authority over citizens. ICE agents may arrest citizens for federal crimes unrelated to immigration, temporarily detain individuals to determine identity or status when reasonable suspicion exists, execute criminal arrest and search warrants, and arrest anyone who assaults, resists, obstructs, or interferes with a federal officer. If a citizen assaults an ICE agent, blocks an arrest, drives into an agent, or refuses lawful orders during an enforcement action, that is a federal crime. Citizenship does not grant immunity from law enforcement.
ICE agents, like other federal officers, may issue lawful commands during stops, arrests, warrant executions, and active investigations. Refusing to comply can result in arrest for obstruction or resisting a federal officer. Claims that ICE agents are “not real police” are legally false and dangerous. Violence against ICE agents is a serious federal felony carrying severe penalties, including prison time. Political disagreement with immigration policy is not a legal defense.
Much of the confusion comes from conflating civil immigration violations, criminal law-enforcement authority, and political opposition to immigration policy. Opposing immigration enforcement does not alter ICE’s legal status. Statutes, court rulings, and decades of precedent are unambiguous on this point.
Superintendent Snelling’s words are a crucial warning to activists and the public that violence and interference with ICE must stop. Unfortunately, very few public officials are delivering similar messages. Instead, some are encouraging resistance against federal law enforcement. At the same time, they complain about the allegedly brutal handling of deportations while failing to encourage illegal immigrants to self-deport.
Mayor Johnson issued an “ICE-free zone” executive order banning federal agents from using city property for deportation operations and called for criminal charges against federal agents who violate the order, stating that “anyone who commits a crime should be charged.” Snelling directly contradicted this position, stating that Chicago police “will not and cannot arrest federal agents because someone deems what they are doing is illegal.”

  • 18-Year-Old Pleads Guilty to Murdering His Mom and Stepdad to Fund His Trump Assassination Plot

18-Year-Old Pleads Guilty to Murdering His Mom and Stepdad to Fund His Trump Assassination Plot

A deeply unsettling story from Waukesha, Wisconsin, reveals that a teen murdered his parents — with a greater goal of killing President Donald Trump.
According to local Fox station WITI-TV, 18-year-old Nikita Casap admitted and pleaded guilty to murdering his own mother and stepfather in their home.
That alone is horrific, but Casap’s reason for the monstrous act is raising even more eyebrows.
The Associates Press reported that Casap killed his parents with an intent to steal their money to help fund a plot to assassinate President Donald Trump.
“The killing of his parents appeared to be an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary to carrying out his plan,” a related federal search warrant read.

A Wisconsin man accused of killing his parents and stealing their money to fund a plan to assassinate President Trump pleads guilty to two homicide counts. https://t.co/1pFzcGPbrg
    — NBC News (@NBCNews) January 8, 2026

Investigators believe the murders occurred around Feb. 11 at the family home.
According to court documents, the teen remained in the house with the decomposing bodies for several weeks before leaving. He took his stepfather’s SUV, along with roughly $14,000 in cash, jewelry, passports, the family firearm, and the family dog.
He was apprehended during a traffic stop in Kansas on Feb. 28.
As part of the homicide investigation, authorities seized and examined Casap’s cell phone and other electronic devices.
According to a search warrant, investigators discovered material linked to a group known as “The Order of Nine Angles” stored on his phone.
FBI documents describe the organization as a satanic cult that promotes extreme anti-Judaic, anti-Christian, and anti-Western views, and encourages members to “incite chaos and violence.”

    — Andy Ngo (@MrAndyNgo) January 8, 2026

The findings have added a disturbing ideological dimension to the case as investigators continue to piece together the factors that influenced the killings.
Investigators also alleged that Casap had begun taking concrete steps toward carrying out a mass-casualty attack.
According to the search warrant, he paid for, at least in part, a drone and explosives that authorities say were intended to be used together as a weapon of mass destruction.
The warrant further referenced an apparent manifesto recovered during the investigation that mentioned both Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
In the document, Casap allegedly wrote that “getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president” would be “guaranteed to bring in some chaos,” framing the act as a catalyst for broader disruption.
The document reportedly left little ambiguity about its purpose. One passage stated plainly that the manifesto was written “specifically for the attack that targets Trump,” underscoring investigators’ conclusions that the killings of Casap’s parents were tied to a larger, premeditated plan aimed at political violence toward the president and his administration.
Casap is set to be sentenced on March 5. Each homicide count carries a mandatory life prison sentence.

BREAKING: Biden Judge Blocks President Trump’s $10 Billion Welfare Funding Freeze in Five Blue States

A federal judge on Friday blocked President Trump’s $10 billion welfare funding freeze in five blue states.
US District Judge Arun Subramanian, a Biden appointee, issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) and blocked Trump’s halt on funding for childcare and social services.
On Tuesday, President Trump sent letters to California, Colorado, New York, Minnesota and Illinois to inform them of the federal cuts.
Trump made the cuts to the welfare programs due to widespread fraud in the state’s programs.
The five states were given a January 20 deadline.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the other Democrat attorneys general filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration and asked the judge for an emergency order.
Judge Subramanian halted Trump’s welfare freeze for two weeks as both sides submit arguments to the court.
    Politico reported:
A federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from freezing $10 billion in welfare funds earmarked for five blue states.
In response to a request from the states for an emergency injunction, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ordered that the money from three programs — Child Care Development Fund, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, and Social Services Block Grants — must continue to flow to the states.
His decision, which expires in two weeks, was meant to give the two sides time to submit more extensive legal arguments on whether the cuts should be allowed or the ban kept in place, the judge wrote.
Earlier in the week, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York and Minnesota received letters from the federal Department of Health and Human Services notifying them of the cuts. California is in line to receive about half of the $10 billion in targeted funding.
The attempt to withhold the funds was in response to what the Trump Administration has alleged without evidence is widespread fraud and waste in the states’ welfare programs. Along with the cuts, administration officials are also requesting reams of information about how states administer the programs in an effort to bolster the claims of malfeasance and ineptitude.

  • Media Framing of the Minneapolis ICE Shooting Fuels Anti-Law Enforcement Sentiment and Violence

Media Framing of the Minneapolis ICE Shooting Fuels Anti-Law Enforcement Sentiment and Violence

Mainstream Media Didn’t Investigate, But Already Decided the Conservative Was Guilty. Headline and image generated by AI using author’s prompts.
Vice President J.D. Vance criticized media coverage during a January 8, 2026 press conference, accusing outlets of misrepresenting an attack on federal law enforcement in Minneapolis. Someone showed him a CNN headline as he walked to the podium: “Outrage after ICE officer kills U.S. citizen in Minneapolis.” Vance said this framing reflected how corporate media had covered the incident over the previous 24 hours.
Vance emphasized that he was calling the incident an attack. “This was an attack on federal law enforcement. This was an attack on law and order. This was an attack on the American people,” he said. The media’s handling of the story had been “an absolute disgrace” and such reporting puts law enforcement officers at risk.
The headline and broader coverage failed to include context that the ICE officer involved had nearly been killed six months earlier after being dragged by a car, suffering 33 stitches to his leg. “So you think maybe he’s a little bit sensitive about somebody ramming him with an automobile,” Vance said. The woman killed was attempting to interfere with a lawful law enforcement operation and was part of a broader left-wing network aimed at attacking, doxing, and assaulting ICE officers to prevent them from doing their jobs.
Here is a clean edit that corrects spelling, grammar, and punctuation, tightens the language, and removes repetition while preserving your tone, claims, and framing exactly. I did not soften or rebalance anything.
“If the media wants to tell the truth, they ought to tell the truth,” Vance said. Left-wing radicals have been working relentlessly, sometimes using domestic terror techniques, to obstruct the enforcement of immigration laws and prevent the president from carrying out the mandate voters elected him to fulfill.
“Outrage after ICE officer kills U.S. citizen in Minneapolis,” read CNN’s headline, exemplifying the coverage pattern Vance criticized. NBC News described Renee Nicole Good as a “Minneapolis woman shot by ICE officer, was out ‘caring for her neighbors,’ officials say.” CBS News quoted Minneapolis City Council member Jason Chavez stating, “This was murder by ICE officials. They did not need to shoot somebody that was leaving the scene,” though he did not mention that federal officials say she attempted to use her vehicle as a weapon against agents.
NBC News also quoted protester Jaylani Hussein saying, “Let’s not let Renee Good’s life and her murder be in vain.” ABC News quoted Minnesota state Rep. Aisha Gomez, who referenced “the murder of George Floyd” in the same context as discussing the Good shooting. A CBS News article described the shooting location as “mere blocks away from where a Minneapolis officer murdered George Floyd in 2020.” Technically, since George Floyd’s death was prosecuted as murder, that statement is accurate, but the framing clearly attempts to place this shooting in the same moral and emotional category as Floyd’s death, potentially priming public outrage, riots, violence, and a public show trial where the verdict is predetermined. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has already labeled the shooting “murder,” underscoring the narrative the left is pushing.
The Washington Post published “Video shows ICE agent in Minneapolis fired at driver as vehicle veered past him.” Analysis of the footage indicates the agent fired as the car was moving past him from the side, and it remains unclear whether the vehicle ever struck him; the officer was not unambiguously shown being hit on the video reviewed by The Washington Post.
“Amid search for answers in Minneapolis ICE shooting, Trump says woman killed tried to ‘run over’ agent” served as the ABC News headline. While technically accurate about what Trump said, the framing treats his statement as automatically suspect and signals that the journalist either failed to investigate the full context or chose not to present what footage and officials have publicly claimed.
Live updates from the ABC News ran under the headline “Minneapolis ICE shooting live updates: City begs for ‘trusted investigation,’” with the call for a trusted investigation suggesting skepticism about the available public information. The NYT also published analysis indicating from video that the agent who fired was not in the path of the victim’s SUV when he fired, a finding some experts and local officials have highlighted in contrast to official self-defense claims
Axios wrote, “These are the DHS officer-involved shootings in Trump’s second term,” a headline that many critics say effectively identifies federal agents involved in controversial use-of-force incidents and could expose them to public threats or harassment. There have been widespread online threats and intense public backlash following the Minneapolis shooting, though there’s no public evidence that specific agents have had their personal addresses doxxed.
The Hill ran the headline, “Donald Trump defends ICE officer’s shooting of Renee Nicole Good,” a framing that critics argue vilifies President Trump by suggesting automatic controversy whenever he defends a federal agent’s actions, tapping into a familiar narrative that if Trump supports something, it must be wrong.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey strongly rejected the federal self-defense narrative, calling it misleading and insisting that video footage did not show federal agents in imminent danger. Governor Tim Walz also criticized DHS’s account and called for broader investigation. Local coverage highlighted witnesses who contradicted the federal narrative and focused on the emotional response from residents and officials to the fatal shooting.
Coverage from many outlets emphasized Good’s identity as a “U.S. citizen,” her role as a “mother,” and her involvement as an observer of federal immigration actions. Local officials and family members described her as compassionate and caring, and she was widely mourned after her death.
Some media narratives suggested that Good was simply minding her own business or had just dropped off her child at school immediately before the incident, framing her death as sudden and unprovoked. Federal officials, however, including the Department of Homeland Security, have said she was actively monitoring and confronting ICE agents when the encounter escalated, with DHS characterizing her actions that day as impeding enforcement activity.
Good’s participation in organized anti-ICE resistance networks received limited attention in mainstream coverage, and in some cases such claims were dismissed as conspiracy theories despite documented evidence. According to Reuters and reporting by The Washington Post, Good was an active volunteer in neighborhood patrol and “observer patrol” networks that tracked and recorded ICE operations at the time of the shooting.
That account was corroborated by Michelle Gross, president of the Minnesota-based Community United Against Police Brutality, who confirmed that Good had participated in ICE “observer” patrols and said, “that’s what she was doing” shortly before the shooting.
Vance argued at the White House press conference that “the way that the media, by and large, has reported this story has been an absolute disgrace, and it puts our law enforcement officers at risk every single day.” He criticized media for omitting context about officers being previously attacked, portraying resistance as legitimate protest, and framing those interfering with law enforcement as innocent victims.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated: “The deadly incident that took place in Minnesota yesterday occurred as a result of a larger, sinister, left-wing movement that has spread across our country, where our brave men and women of federal law enforcement are under organized attack.”

“No More Handouts to Thieves!” – BREAKING: USDA Suspends all Federal Financial Rewards to Minnesota

On Friday evening, Brooke Rollins, Secretary of Agriculture, announced that the USDA has suspended all federal financial rewards to Minnesota.
“Enough is enough! The Trump administration has uncovered MASSIVE fraud in Minnesota and Minneapolis—billions siphoned off by fraudsters. And those in charge have ZERO plan to fix it,” Rollins said on X.
“Today, the USDA is SUSPENDING FEDERAL FINANCIAL AWARDS to Minnesota and Minneapolis, effective immediately, until sufficient proof has been provided that the fraud has stopped,” she said.
“No more handouts to thieves! Time to drain the Minnesota swamp and put American taxpayers first,” Rollins said.
“The widespread and systemic fraud associated with federal benefit programs in the State of Minnesota and the City of Minneapolis demonstrate an inability to handle federal resources without additional oversight and accountability measures in place,” Rollins said in a letter to Minnesota Governor Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
Rollins accused the Democrat leaders of refusing to provide basic information or take common sense measures to stop the fraud.
“Therefore, because of your failed leadership and abysmal financial management oversight, I am notifying you that, effective immediately, I am suspending payments on all active awards and any future awards from USDA to the State of Minnesota and the City of Minneapolis, currently totaling over $129.18 million,” Rollins wrote.
She continued, “Within 30 days, you shall provide USDA with payment justifications for all federal dollar expenditures from January 20, 2025 to the present. Going forward, all transactions on awards to the State of Minnesota or the City of Minneapolis will require such payment justification.”
“If those payment justifications are not received, awards will remain suspended,” she said.

FBI veteran Christopher Raia will replace Dan Bongino as co-Deputy Director, according to media reports.
Raia previously served as the assistant director in charge of the New York Field Office. He also served as a deputy assistant director in the Counterterrorism Terrorism Division at FBI Headquarters in DC.
Fox News and ABC reported that Raia will begin work in his new role alongside Andrew Bailey on Monday.

This means that an agent will once again be in a deputy director role atop the FBI. Earlier this year, the FBI Agents’ Association said that, after being nominated as FBI director, Kash Patel assured the association’s leadership that an active FBI agent would take the reins of the deputy director — but Bongino then ended up as deputy director.
