FAFO: ICE Protester in California Loses an Eye After Rushing Agents and Getting Shot With Projectile (VIDEO)
California protester injured – Screencap of Twitter/X video.
A young ICE protester in California lost the use of his left eye this week after being shot with a projectile after rushing federal agents.
Who is to blame for this? Certainly not ICE. The protester himself and the people who egged him on deserve the blame.
You know what the worst part is for this person? He is unlikely to win any kind of lawsuit over this because it was caused by his own actions. Now that he has exhausted his use as a tool for the left, do you think any of his leftist comrades are going to step up and help him?
The Associated Press reports:
Protester blind in left eye after federal agent fired projectile at Santa Ana protest, family says
A demonstrator was hit in the face with a projectile fired by a federal officer at close range during a Southern California protest, leaving him bloodied and with serious injuries, according to video and accounts from fellow protesters and family on Tuesday…
The demonstrators came up onto the plaza, where a handful of agents stood in riot gear and held crowd-control gear. At one point, officials forcefully move a demonstrator back down onto the steps, and the group continues to chant as the agents appear to urge them to move back. Later, an orange cone can be seen rolling up onto the plaza, and officers begin firing munitions as they walk toward the crowd. It is not clear if the cones were thrown and by whom.
The injured demonstrator, identified as 21-year-old Kaden Rummler by his aunt, is seen on video shouting through a megaphone along with others outside the building, where several officers are stationed in riot gear. The officers approached the crowd, then grabbed another demonstrator by the arm, identified in a federal criminal complaint as Katelyn Skye Seitz, pulling them onto the steps.
In response, Rummler and a few other demonstrators step forward, shouting. One of the officers fires a crowd-control weapon, striking Rummler from several feet away. Rummler grabs his face and falls to the ground. An officer grabs Rummler by the shirt and drags him backward across the ground, the video shows.
You can see the incident in this video:This kid charged at federal agents to try and stop them from arresting his friend.

Trump’s War Powers in Venezuela and Congressional Calls for a Resolution

President Trump’s strikes on Venezuelan drug boats, operations on Venezuelan territory, and the capture of Nicolás Maduro have been criticized by Democrats as illegal. Critics argue that the president violated the Constitution by acting without congressional authorization. Senator Bernie Sanders said Trump showed “contempt for the Constitution and the rule of law,” arguing that the president lacks the authority to unilaterally take the country to war or to “run” Venezuela.
Sanders is, of course, mistaken, as the United States has not gone to war. A declaration of war can only come from Congress, and the current military actions were conducted under presidential war powers. Representative Gregory Meeks said he received no briefing or advance notice. However, under war powers authorities, no advance notice is required.
Representative Seth Moulton and others argued that Venezuela posed no imminent threat. However, under war powers doctrine, the president determines what constitutes a threat or an emergency. The president’s authority as Commander in Chief under Article II of the Constitution is ongoing and inherent. It does not require a declared emergency, a declared war, congressional authorization for initial deployments, or any special invocation of powers.
The president may deploy troops based on threats to national security as he defines them, the protection of American citizens abroad, the defense of U.S. interests, treaty obligations, humanitarian missions, peacekeeping operations, or responses to attacks.
No body is required to approve the president’s determination that circumstances warrant deployment. That judgment is made unilaterally by the president as Commander in Chief, subject only to political accountability and the time limits imposed by the War Powers Resolution. Congress’s primary leverage lies in funding and political pressure, not prior authorization.
Multiple members of Congress, including Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), called for a War Powers Resolution in response to the Venezuela operation.
Democrats, led by Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia, invoked the War Powers Resolution to require congressional authorization for any further U.S. military action in Venezuela. Kaine, joined by Senators Rand Paul, Adam Schiff, and Chuck Schumer, introduced a resolution directing the removal of U.S. forces from hostilities unless explicitly authorized by Congress. The measure initially advanced with bipartisan support, including five Republican senators, and was framed as an effort to reassert Congress’s authority to declare war under Article I, Section 8. The resolution ultimately failed after Vice President JD Vance broke a 50–50 tie.
Under the War Powers Resolution of 1973, which remains standing law, the president must notify Congress within 48 hours of introducing U.S. forces into hostilities and withdraw those forces after 60 days unless Congress authorizes continued operations. Every administration since 1973 has questioned the resolution’s constitutionality, arguing that it improperly restricts the president’s Article II authority as Commander in Chief.
The Trump administration complied with the notification requirement by informing congressional leaders after the Venezuela operation had begun. President Trump said Congress was not briefed in advance because lawmakers have “a tendency to leak” and prior notification would have endangered the mission.
While this approach conflicted with congressional expectations for consultation, the administration maintained that the operation fell within the president’s inherent authority to act unilaterally in defense of national security. Presidents routinely deploy forces without congressional votes for drone strikes, special operations, and limited interventions. In practice, the War Powers Resolution’s 60-day withdrawal requirement is rarely enforced, as Congress often declines to press the issue politically.
The Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) within the U.S. Department of Justice issued the controlling legal opinion on the Venezuela operation. The OLC is a small but highly influential office that provides authoritative legal advice to the president and executive branch agencies. Its formal opinions interpret constitutional and statutory law, advise on the scope of executive authority, and resolve legal disputes within the executive branch.
Unless overruled by the attorney general or the president, OLC opinions are binding on the executive branch and are treated as settled law, even when outside legal scholars or courts disagree.
In a December 23, 2025 memorandum addressing Operation Absolute Resolve, the OLC concluded that the operation was lawful under U.S. domestic law. The memo determined that the action did not rise to the level of “war in the constitutional sense” and therefore did not require congressional authorization. It found that the president acted within his inherent Article II authority as Commander in Chief and that the operation could be characterized as a law enforcement mission supported by military assets under existing statutes.
The OLC acknowledged that the operation likely violated international law, including the UN Charter’s prohibition on the use of force against the territorial integrity of sovereign states. However, it concluded that breaches of international law do not constrain the president’s authority under U.S. domestic law. This reflects a longstanding OLC position that the Constitution and U.S. statutes govern presidential authority, and that international treaties do not limit the president’s constitutional powers absent implementing legislation.
This approach is consistent with prior OLC opinions, which have frequently concluded that executive actions may violate international law while remaining lawful under U.S. constitutional and statutory frameworks. The OLC’s role is to advise the president on domestic legal authority, not to adjudicate compliance with international law. While the office has a controversial history, including its expansive interpretations of executive power during the Bush administration, its reasoning in the Venezuela case follows a well-established pattern: international law violations are treated as a separate issue and do not, in themselves, restrict presidential authority under Article II.

JUST IN: President Trump Announces Board of Peace for Gaza is Officially Formed
Trump delivers remarks at Gaza peace summit in Egypt
President Trump announced on Thursday that the international transitional Board of Peace, which will supervise the governance of Gaza, has been formed.
Trump announced the “Board of Peace,” which will be headed and chaired by himself, in his 20-point Gaza Peace Plan last September.
On Thursday, he announced that the board has been finalized, and the members will be announced “shortly.”
“I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place,” he said.
Full statement below:
It is my Great Honor to announce that THE BOARD OF PEACE has been formed. The Members of the Board will be announced shortly, but I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
DONALD J. TRUMP
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
This comes after Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced the launch of Phase Two of the Gaza Peace Plan, where Gaza is set to be “redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.”
Witkoff announced on X on Wednesday that the Trump Administration is launching Phase Two.
“Phase Two establishes a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), and begins the full demilitarization and reconstruction of Gaza, primarily the disarmament of all unauthorized personnel,” he said. “The US expects Hamas to comply fully with its obligations, including the immediate return of the final deceased hostage. Failure to do so will bring serious consequences.”
Today, on behalf of President Trump, we are announcing the launch of Phase Two of the President’s 20-Point Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, moving from ceasefire to demilitarization, technocratic governance, and reconstruction.

Importantly, Phase One delivered historic humanitarian aid, maintained the ceasefire, returned all living hostages and the remains of twenty-seven of the twenty-eight deceased hostages. We are deeply grateful to Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar for their indispensable mediation efforts that made all progress to date possible.Today, on behalf of President Trump, we are announcing the launch of Phase Two of the President’s 20-Point Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, moving from ceasefire to demilitarization, technocratic governance, and reconstruction.

— Special Envoy Steve Witkoff (@SEPeaceMissions) January 14, 2026Trump noted the announcement by Witkoff in a follow-up Truth Social post on Thursday:
As Steve Witkoff announced, we have OFFICIALLY entered the next phase of Gaza’s 20-Point Peace Plan!
Since the Ceasefire, my team has helped deliver RECORD LEVELS of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza, reaching Civilians at HISTORIC speed and scale. Even the United Nations has acknowledged this achievement as UNPRECEDENTED. These results have set the stage for this next phase.
As Chairman of the Board of Peace, I am backing a newly appointed Palestinian Technocratic Government, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, supported by the Board’s High Representative, to govern Gaza during its transition. These Palestinian leaders are unwaveringly committed to a PEACEFUL future!
With the support of Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar, we will secure a COMPREHENSIVE Demilitarization Agreement with Hamas, including the surrender of ALL weapons, and the dismantling of EVERY tunnel. Hamas must IMMEDIATELY honor its commitments, including the return of the final body to Israel, and proceed without delay to full Demilitarization. As I have said before, they can do this the easy way, or the hard way. The people of Gaza have suffered long enough. The time is NOW.
PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH.This is a developing story.

Statement from the Florida Panthers:
Making a return trip to the White House, the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers will be honored by President Donald J. Trump during a special visit on Jan. 15.
A storied tradition, sports teams have been visiting the White House since the 19th century, with the Pittsburgh Penguins being the first Stanley Cup champions to be honored in 1991.
Becoming just the 10th franchise in NHL history to pull off a rare championship repeat, the Panthers won their second straight Stanley Cup with a decisive 5-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers – who they also beat in 2024 – in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on June 17, 2025.
Sam Reinhart, Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe each produced a team-high 23 points during Florida’s playoff run, with Reinhart making history by becoming just the second player to score four goals in a Cup-clinching game during a stellar showing in Game 6.
Taking home the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs, Sam Bennett scored 15 goals for the Panthers. Becoming just the first European-born player to captain a team to back-to-back Stanley Cups, Aleksander Barkov registered 22 points.
Teaming up to form arguably the most-formidable third line in the history of the playoffs, Brad Marchad, a key acquisition at the trade deadline, Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen combined for 21 goals, 36 assists and a staggering +47 plus/minus rating during the run.
Between the pipes, Sergei Bobrovsky went 16-7 with a .914 save percentage.
Under the guidance of President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Zito and head coach Paul Maurice, the Panthers have reached the Stanley Cup Final in each of the last three seasons, with their championships in 2024 and 2025 being the franchise’s first.
During last year’s visit to the White House, the Panthers, whose visit follows that of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles in April of 2025, presented President Trump with a golden hockey stick and framed jersey with the Nos. 45 and 47 on the back to mark his two non-consecutive terms in office.
Panthers players and staff were also given a private tour of the historic Oval Office.

President Trump is not expected to make an endorsement in the upcoming Texas Senate primary.
According to PunchBowl News, Trump has declined to endorse RINO incumbent Senator John Cornyn over challenger, MAGA favorite, and Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune has been a vocal advocate for Cornyn, who has repeatedly let down his supporters on issues ranging from immigration to gun control.
However, Thune admitted that his efforts to lobby Trump have so far proved unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, POLITICO reports that Cornyn had personally reached out to Trump to request an endorsement, although his request was rebuffed.
Their report stated:In Texas, Cornyn this year is on better terms with Trump, who previously called him a “RINO Republican” over his role in helping negotiate bipartisan gun safety legislation during former President Joe Biden’s term.
As the White House sees it, Trump now has three friends in the race, and Cornyn and his challengers — Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt — have leaned into being Trump loyalists throughout the primary, a dynamic that the White House is in no hurry to change.
Cornyn recently asked Trump for his endorsement, the senator told the Houston Chronicle, and Trump told Cornyn that he’s not ready to grant it.Cornyn campaign senior adviser Matt Mackowiak said that Cornyn remains on good terms with the president.
“Senator Cornyn speaks to President Trump regularly and works closely with the White House,” he said.
“He is proud to have voted 99.3% with President Trump while in office.”
According to the latest RealClearPolitics polling average, Paxton currently holds a 0.3 percent lead over Cornyn, well within the margin of error.
Rep. Wesley Hunt trails well behind at just 19 percent support.

More Christians Killed in Wave of Islamist Attacks in Nigeria That Began on Christmas Eve

Fulani Islamic extremists killed at least 13 Christians in a series of attacks across Benue State, Nigeria, in early January 2026, according to local residents and officials. The killings were part of a broader wave of Islamist violence against Christians that began on Christmas Eve and continued into the New Year.
In Otobi Akpa village, Otukpo County, gunmen arrived around midnight on January 12 and shot four Christians as they slept in their homes, with dozens of others reported missing. Separate attacks on January 5 and 6 killed nine more Christians in Kwande and Guma counties, where farmers were ambushed while working in their fields.
Community leaders described the violence as persistent and systematic. Earlier attacks in the same areas had killed Christians and destroyed dozens of homes, while December assaults included attacks on funerals, farming communities, and villages across Benue.
Local officials said the pattern includes ambushes, house-to-house raids, and the targeting of predominantly Christian communities, forcing families to flee and abandon farmland.
Christian leaders and analysts said the attacks are driven by land seizures, desertification pressures, and Islamist ideology among Fulani militias. A 2020 report by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom or Belief found that extremist Fulani factions adopt tactics similar to Boko Haram and ISWAP and deliberately target Christians and Christian symbols. Nigeria remains one of the most dangerous countries for Christians, ranking seventh on the 2025 World Watch List published by Open Doors.
Nigeria entered 2026 amid coordinated Islamist and militia attacks that killed at least 70 people, mostly Christians, and displaced hundreds across the Middle Belt and northern regions during the Christmas and New Year period. The violence was attributed to ISWAP, Lakurawa, Boko Haram, and Fulani ethnic militias, with churches, homes, and markets deliberately targeted across Adamawa, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Niger states.
Among the deadliest incidents, at least 14 people were killed in Adamawa State on December 29, two Catholic priests were seriously wounded in Nasarawa on December 30, and Fulani militants killed at least nine Christians in Plateau State on New Year’s Eve. The single deadliest attack occurred on January 3 in Kasuwan Daji, Niger State, where at least 50 villagers were massacred and women and children abducted after militiamen burned the market and surrounding homes.
Church sites were desecrated, and the Catholic Diocese of Kontagora reported that militants operated freely without an effective security response. Communities had already been traumatized by mass kidnappings, including the November abduction of 315 students and teachers from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri.
Residents said villages were under siege for more than a week with little or no security presence, forcing families to sleep in nearby bushes. Although no group formally claimed responsibility, Nigerian officials said the attackers were likely militants fleeing areas targeted by U.S. strikes, including elements linked to Lakurawa, an armed group affiliated with the Islamic State Sahel Province.
U.S. strikes on Christmas Day targeted Islamist militants in Sokoto State, with President Trump saying the action was intended to protect Christians from jihadist violence. The strikes highlighted Nigeria’s chronic insecurity, where rural communities remain exposed to bandits, jihadist groups, and militias amid limited state protection. Since 2018, Fulani militias have increasingly occupied Christian farmland in the Middle Belt, prompting Christian Solidarity International to issue a genocide warning in 2020.
Many Christians cautiously welcomed the airstrikes as long-overdue recognition of years of violence and insecurity. Catholic leaders emphasized framing the operation as a joint U.S.-Nigeria effort to avoid political backlash, while some viewed it as a warning to militant groups and a possible shift in security policy.
Pastors in hard-hit areas described the strikes as a rare moment of relief after years of burying congregants and watching communities flee, even as analysts warned that airstrikes alone cannot resolve Nigeria’s complex mix of extremism, weak governance, land disputes, and poverty.
President Trump redesignated Nigeria as a country of particular concern for religious freedom. Christian leaders said the move offered reassurance and renewed hope for the ability to worship openly, attend church safely, and send children to school without fear.

Anti-ICE Protestors Clash with Federal Law Enforcement in Minneapolis After Walz Blames Trump For Riots (VIDEO)
